BUILD QUALITY The JBUDS LUX ANC headphones have solid build and material quality. The headband is reinforced with a metal band, so it's sufficiently sturdy, and there’s 9 clicky detents providing a max of approximately 1.23” additional length per side. The supplied braided USBC cable seems to be pretty good. The headphones fold compactly and can also fold flat to wear comfortably around the neck. The hinges and swivels are plastic, but they look like they're designed and constructed such that they'll hold up for the long haul. FIT AND COMFORT These headphones feel more like semi over-ears or on-ears rather than over-ears. The cushions are soft and comfy but on the small side and not very deep, so my ears press against the inside of the driver cover. Hot spots on my ears became apparent after about 30 minutes. I got used to it after a few days, at which point it only got uncomfortable after a couple of hours. The headband pad is small and only covers the top 3.75” inches or so as opposed to most studio headphones, which often have pads covering most of the length of the headband; however, the pad on the JBuds Lux provides a decent amount of padding. At no point during several hours of use did I feel a hot spot at the top of my head. I was hoping to use these headphones for work, where I’ll be needing them for durations longer than a couple of hours, but that would require bigger and deeper cushions. Unfortunately, the pads are not user replaceable, so this option is out, and then this pair won't be suitable for work as I had hoped. Clamping force is slightly on the tighter side for me, but it’s not the worst I’ve felt. Ultimately, for me, these headphones will be tolerable for occasional long-duration listening, like during long-haul air travel, but probably not for daily long-duration usage. They will be great while doing chores for maybe two hours at a time max. For longer durations, I’ll need to stick with my studio headphones with true over-ear cushions. SETUP AND APP Setting up the headphones with the app on my Pixel 7 Pro running Android 14 was extremely easy. The app’s user interface is very intuitive, clean, and user-friendly. Using the app isn’t necessary in order to pair and just get basic functionality, but if you want to set the custom EQ, ANC or ambient pass-through levels, reassign buttons, or set max output levels, you’ll need the app. It’s nice that the audio settings are stored on the headphones rather than the app, so if you pair the headphones with more than one source or use it hardwired, you can still access the ANC levels and Custom EQ setting. The app doesn’t need to be installed on both devices, assuming, of course, that you installed the app and set the levels in at least one device first. NOISE CANCELING The active noise canceling is impressive for the price. Although I am not a fan of ANC due to the pressure it creates in my ears, it does a good job, and I very much appreciate the ability to set the ANC level so it doesn't hurt my ears. The Be Aware ambient passthrough mode produces good ambient sound if on the airy side. AUDIO The sound is decent. I’m no audio reviewer, so I’m not going to attempt an audio review worthy of the name. Basically, the sound isn’t the cleanest, but I’ve heard worse at this price point. The sound stage is a little close for my preference, but, again, for the price, I’m not complaining. The predefined EQ profiles are OK. For most music, Signature seemed best, but for spoken word, I preferred Balanced. Bass Boost is pretty useless to me. It just ended up muddying the sound. The Custom EQ offers more flexibility and I was able to improve on the Signature preset, but it’s a huge pain to work with. You can’t set any of the presets as a starting point to play around with. All the sliders start at zero, so you have to work from scratch. And, oddly, the grayed out slider positions you see when you select a preset don’t actually correspond to the same output when you recreate the same slider positions in Custom EQ (so maybe working off a preset wouldn’t be that helpful in the end anyway). I was able to tune Custom to sound something like Signature with a bit more boost in the mids and highs, but the slider positions looked VERY different from the Signature graphic. More EQ weirdness: 1) The sliders are a little janky. They’re stepped, so they’ll jump up or down from where you lift your finger, and not in a consistent-feeling way. 2) The values of the sliders are not shown, it’s entirely graphical, so it’s really difficult to dial in adjustments accurately. I feel like the Custom EQ is the key to get the best sound out of these headphones, but it’s really kneecapped. JLab should put in some work to make this feature a legit selling point. I couldn’t figure out how to get spatial audio to work. Maybe I didn’t have compatible sources. Didn’t really care about it though, so it’s not a loss for me. MICROPHONE The microphone quality is good for calls and voice recordings. Nothing more to report there. BATTERY LIFE After several days and a few hours of use per day, the battery is still at 100%, so I'm going to assume JLab is reporting the battery life accurately or even possibly underreporting it. DISAPPOINTMENTS AND ODDITIES 1) The non-replaceable pads are a big disappointment. Fitment issues could have been resolved with bigger, thicker aftermarket pads. The other problem is that pads are always consumable parts. They WILL eventually disintegrate, and they’ll do so far sooner than the point at which the battery will no longer hold sufficient charge. Once they do, you’ll either hope you can find an aftermarket cover that would fit to keep the flakes off your ears, or toss it. To make these pads last as long as they possibly can, you’ll have to be pretty vigilant about wiping off sweat and oils after every use. 2) The noise cancellation toggle always starts on Be Aware ambient passthrough mode. I wish it remembered the last mode. 3) The spoken status indicators take around a full second and it interrupts audio playback every time you change an EQ or noise canceling mode. It’s really disruptive when trying to toggle through EQ modes to find the best one for the source content. I would prefer quick numbered beeps instead. CLOSING COMMENTS Overall, the JBUDS LUX ANC headphones offer good build quality, easy set-up, decent sound quality, good ANC/ambient features, and great battery life. The storage of audio settings onboard instead of relying on the app is a plus. However, the pads are too small and shallow and non-replaceable, and the EQ needs work. If JLab addresses these two issues, this would be a 5-star offering, in my opinion.

The JLab - JBuds Lux ANC Headphones work quite well. First, they are boxed well and simply. The earphones are cradled and the quick-start guide and charging cord and placed underneath that cradle. They are very simple yet oh, so, comfortable. I tend to just put-up with headphones as they tend to press on my glasses or don't completely cover my ears. These fully encased my ears so there was no pressure on the ear itself and the flexible padding on the earphone allowed for the arms of my glasses without pressing them into my ear or head. Usually I'm am always conscious that I have headphones on but I was able to forget them for a while and truly focus on the music. They are simplistic in they don't have tons of button but only have three, two small ones, the power and noise cancelling buttons, and one bigger one that controls the volume. However, each of these button can also do other things depending on how one presses them. For example, the noise cancelling button can make it so all outside noise is cancelled or by pressing differently, allows for background noise to filter in. These buttons allow for picking up phone calls and hanging up. I found it much easier to use then the type that have buttons on both headphones and having to remember which side has which buttons. There is also an app you can download that allows you to customize your listening experience. I personally don't care for a heavy bass sound on most songs so I appreciate the ability to modify that. I found the quality of the sound and also the microphone to be sufficient for my needs. When I was wearing them, no one was able to hear what I was listening to but I don't blast music so the volume was set at a medium level. They charged quickly and stay charged for a long time. I'm presently at about 30 hours of listening and still have not had to recharge from the initial charge. It charges with a USB-C outlet so you can plug in anywhere the USB-C outset is available. The cord is long enough to be able to use the headphones while charging on a computer -- as least it works that way with my laptop. I'm quite happy with these and definitely recommend them.

I've been playing around with the Jlab Jbuds Lux ANC headphones for a few days and have enjoyed them. I wanted to get some new headphones for my kids and these do a decent job for most of their uses. The headphones are constructed fairly well. They are based on a metal band like my old Anker Soundcore Life Tune XR. The Jlab headphones have a slightly smaller cup size but fit just fine over my ears. There is a mesh fabric covered padding at the top and I had no problems with comfort after several hours. The cups rotate flat towards the rear and fold up nicely for travel and have a decent amount of swivel (about 13mm), so they conform nicely to my head. There is just one port on these headphones for the included USB-C cord for charging and for audio. I'm a little disappointed it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. If they did, they would be an easy answer for all my kids traveling needs (e.g. airplanes still only push audio through the 3.5mm jack) Along with the USB-C port, there are 3 distinct buttons all on the right hand cup. A multi-function power button, a volume rocker and a noise cancel button. The buttons can perform different functions depending on single tap, double tap, long press and sometimes a triple tap. Connecting via Bluetooth is pretty standard. You'll want to install the Jlab app on a mobile device. This will allow you to set EQ, hearing protection level, limited button assignment and check for new firmware. I found the that the EQ allows you a wide range of customization control for your audio listening pleasure. I didn't quite like the out of the box sound, but a few quick adjustments and the sound is very pleasing to me. I then connected the Jlab headphones to my computer for watching videos and taking calls. Noise cancelling is about what I expected in this price range. It certainly cannot compete with top Noise Cancelling headphones that cost 3x or more, but they don't need to for normal use. I did realize that the noise cancelling provides a little bit of white noise like a steady fan pushing air past your ears on low. I however, did not really like the "Be aware" mode. It amplifies mid-range noise a little too much and adds in too much white noise. Using these Jlab headphones on a phone call, my more discerning audience find me a little harder to hear. I've received feedback that the audio is a little muffled or not very crisp. I believe this and the noise cancelling performance are all tied to the microphones. Battery life is really decent at over 40 hours. There is also a quick charge option where a 10 minute charge can offer up to 4 hours of operation. As I started out saying, these headphones are aimed for my kids use and I think they fit for most of their usage scenarios. There are two points where I would tick off their rating, no 3.5 mm jack and the microphones being slightly less than clear. Aside from those, I found the operation of these headphones to be very easy to pick up and I really like the customizability granted from the EQ.

These over ear headphones are easy to connect out of the box, and come with the headphones and charging cable in the box. The battery life of the headphones is great, lasting over 20 hours on a charge. This is helpful for long trips or multiple uses without worrying about recharges. The noise-canceling feature is top-tier, effectively blocking out speech and other noise and creating an isolated listening experience. The sound quality is excellent, with volumes from low to high all sounding good. Volume control is easily accessible and responsive, allowing adjustments. There are additional customization you can do from the Jlabs app (button controls and equalizer among other things) The Bluetooth connection is solid, with no issues within range. Pairing is quick although the Bluetooth name is quite long and be confusing when paring the first time. The range is impressive, maintaining a stable connection up to about 35 feet away. The headphones are comfortable to wear, with adjustable sizing to fit all head shapes and sizes. The ear cushions are soft and well-fitted to the head for both comfort and noise isolation.

This product is awesome and very easy to set up. Right out of the box it has a good battery charge so you can test it out and get used to the sizing. Noise cancel on these rock i use these on my morning commute and they are just wicked cool. I also like the fact you can use beware and lets you hear what is going on around you. This size is awesome for an adult and easy to adjust. The app makes things even so much more cool since you can adjust everything and set it up so you can enjoy your listening or movie experience. Ear cuffs on this model are nice and fit right over my ears which makes it even more comfortable. You can also fold these up so they store easy in any bag for commute. The controls on the actual device are very easy and make things just that much easier for the overall experience. Everything about these are just so cool and good for anyone looking for a good pair of headphones for commute or travel. I would so recommend these to anyone plus the brand is awesome. The color is also very nice.

The JLAB noise canceling wireless headphones are very nice for the price point! These over ear headphone are very comfortable. They easily cover my ears and are not too tight. The ear pads are a nice size. Not too small and not too large. If you plan to wear them to the gym, they do stay in place fairly nicely when you lay your head back! If you lean forward they do slip a little but don’t fall off of your head. I don’t prefer to run in over ear headphones but I don’t see any reason you couldn’t with these. Audio is clear, not as dynamic as a more expensive pair would be, but still good. Noise canceling is good, not perfect, but does the job. There is a JLab app that allows you to update the firmware and customize the sound with an equalizer. They also have a “Be aware” mode which is a hear-through mode that uses microphones, and is nice if you’re walking around in public and want to hear your surroundings without all the noise. I was wearing them in one room and could easily hear someone talking to me from another room. With the TV on I could easily listen to music at a low level and clearly hear the TV. I would highly recommend these if you are looking for an affordable pair of noise canceling headphones.

These JBuds Lux ANC over-ear headphones are great quality headphones. They are pretty much ready to go right out of the box. A charging cable (USB-c to c) is included. The headphones have a corresponding app. The app does not NEED to be used for the headphones, but is a good way to tinker with sound settings, noise cancellation, etc. These are definitely one of the best brands I’ve tried as far as noise cancellation. The headphones dampen all sound considerably, while not completely blocking out all noise (which I actually prefer, as it’s easier to maintain awareness of my surroundings). These headphones also have a great cushion on the ear pads so they are comfortable to wear for a long period of time. The JBuds over-ear headphones are collapsible/foldable. This will reduce their bulkiness quite a bit which allows them to fit in a backpack or bag easily. And that’s a requirement for travel. I had another pair of headphones from a different brand, and while the sound and noise cancellation were good, the hinges wore down extremely fast when folding, which led to them breaking in just a few months. These JBuds are better quality and I expect they will last for some time.

I've been thinking about some noise canceling headphones for a while. I have several pair of earbuds but they don't quite do it. I wanted something for when I go on a plane. No matter where you sit, it's loud. I think these will do quite well. I haven't had a chance to actually be on a plane yet but they passed the next best test. Mowing the yard. I use a big kubota diesel on 5 acres and these are amazing. I can absolutely consentrate on a podcast or music. I can't believe how well it blocks out the noise. Sound quality is great. As is the battery life. I've been using them for 5 days and I'm still at "medium" battery life. Taking calls on them works fine. It is strange to talk to someone with them on, so I suggest turning off noise canceling. The build quality is OK. They are very comfortable but the hard plastic used conducts sound too well. If you brush against them or move too quickly, you can hear it. They're kind of creaky. Not a deal breaker though. The Bluetooth range could be better, hopefully there will be an update that will help. I've found if I wander more than 15 feet from the tv, they can start cutting out. Charging with USB C is great although I would like a stand so they have a "home". There can be improvements but the noise canceling alone is impressive.

Its sound quality is amazing, the body itself is cheaply made though but for the price it’s to be expected. Sound does leak out depending what you listening to on full volume. But overall it didn’t fall off my head to easily, and for the price I’d say it’s worth it if u want something cheap.

These JLab Lux ANC headphones seem designed to compete with more expensive name brands and accomplish that pretty well. They paired easily with my phone and computer. I notice the balance between high and low frequency sound in some songs varied a little more depending on the volume level than some other headphones I have. The noise cancellation works but did not block out the TV as much as the others. It has an "aware" noise cancellation setting that I could not tell any difference at all. I think the controls are easy to find and use with your right fingertips after putting these phones in place on your head, but the volume up & down "bar" could have had more detectable profile, since I end up accidentally pressing the NC button for the cancellation sometimes rather than the volume up. I do find the need to tweak some with whatever equalizer I have installed on the playing device, nothing unusual for something in this price range. The bottom line is they are comfortable, and that's what matters if you like to listen to a lot of music.

I purchased the JLab Lux ANC Headphones for my grandson, for his birthday. I studied the most reliable and highly rated headphones, including customer reviews. The JLab Headphones received the highest recommendations by far for headphones under $100. My high school aged grandson loves them, including the sound and how well the headphones fit, helping to cancel outside noise. So happy with this purchase!

I got these headphones because I wanted have an extra set of active noise cancellling headphones, and really wanted to see how they compare to 4 sets of over the ear headphones I have that are from double to 5 times the cost. I have 2 sets of jlab buds my family use and they are really good for the cost, so I figured these would be also. They did not disappoint. The app that comes with these I was familiar with due to one of the sets of buds uses it. The fit is comfortable and the build is soft toucht to the plastic with good metal spring to the headband. The muffs are soft and fit,/seal well. The button push is good and spacing and location are very good. This layout of buttons is better than several of my more expensive ones, springy, responsive, and a good size. I prefer these to many touch controls. The default sound on these is really good, the “jalab” mix. I have a custom one that sounds good with much of the stuff I listen to, but sometimes when streaming I get something odd to listen to, and so many times I use the jlab mix because the variation is less for me. There are 10 bands you can customize. The button functions, single, double, triple tap, all can be set to what you want. The noise cancelling is great. It had 3 settings of anc, aware, and off. It does make quite a difference in reducing ambient noise. Overall, these things are a superb value. As of right now I have no negatives that I can find. I hope they last a long time. I would like to give these 6 of 5 stars if I could.

I got these headphones to use at work. I found that they were a little tight to wear and they seemed a little heavy as well. When listening to music, the sound wasn't what I expected. It was almost hollow. There is an app which has presets for the kind of music you're listening to, but none of them seemed to help. There is also a custom setting so you can tweak different elements of sound. But, even with that I felt like things weren't quite right. But I found what these headphones are best at. They block out the sound around you nearly completely. Sometimes I like to listen to stories at night as I fall asleep. I tried using these headphones and they're perfect for that. The heaviness isn't an issue because I lay down to listen to the story and because all the surrounding sound is blocked out, there's a really immersive experience with the story and I really enjoy that. The one thing I wish would have been different with these is the placement of the buttons, which are located on the back bottom right. This happens to be right where I put my hands when putting them on or taking them off. I would recommend these headphones because of the noise blocking and with time I think I will be able to customize the sound for music.

Pros - Impressive noise cancellation for price point. I was on the train in New York and the only thing you can hear is the screeching of the train tracks. Rich sound. Cons - Rock and R&B sound perfect with their stock equalizer but for bass heavy genre's like hip hop or reggaeton, it's missing a little thunder. You may have to adjust the equalizer, if you need a little more bass.
