Initial impressions/setup: When I saw this and the size, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was surprised. I replaced a much larger speaker that is designed to have a lot of bass, and this little powerhouse far exceeded it. To give it a fair test, I used both a line-in and Bluetooth. It paired quickly to the Bluetooth, and once paired, reconnecting was almost instantaneous. The sound through Bluetooth was great, as was the sound through the line-in. To test it that way, I used an old Echo, and it was impressive. Build quality: You’d look at it and expect it to be a lightweight speaker, but it is actually quite hefty. It is well assembled and solid. The bottom is rubber-covered to keep water out, and in spite of how it looks, it is water-resistant all around. It comes with a tough rubber handle attached so that it can be carried. It seems quality enough, but the speaker is heavy enough that I don’t know if I would completely trust it to carry it that way. Features: This is meant to be a party speaker and it has what they call “party lights” on the top. These lights can be set to several different patterns or completely shut off by repeatedly pressing the power button. They’re fun for a while, but my default setting is off so that I can save some battery life. The product information claims that you can pair up to 100 JLab party speakers. Yes, that’s right, 100 speakers. I cannot imagine a case where that would make sense or be cost-effective, but it is an option. I’d like to have a couple of them but have not had a chance to try out this feature. You can create a two-speaker system and designate a speaker for the left and right channel. It comes with a few presets for sound quality that can be selected using the EQ Change button. By far, the JLab Signature preset had the most pleasant sound, followed by Balanced. The Bass Boost was the worst of them. It sounded very muffled and destroyed the quality of the music I was listening to. A lot of settings can be adjusted with the app that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The best part about it is that the speaker’s sound can be further enhanced with an equalizer. I didn’t get much of a chance to work with the app, but it does seem like it has a lot to offer. It is also used for firmware updates when JLab makes them available. Overall, this is a very nice little speaker that performs better than I expected. It is replacing a much bigger speaker, and it has better sound and bass quality. Aside from the muffled bass boost, there is nothing to complain about here, and I am comfortable giving this speaker five stars.

Great speaker for everyday use. Doesn't disappoint.

I have to say this JLab Bluetooth speaker is quite impressive for the price. The speaker is on the large side measuring roughly 10” tall and 3.5” square and weighing roughly 3lbs. The speaker has 2 full range drivers that fire out the front and 2 passive radiators for improved bass on each end of the speaker. I became aware of JLab when I got a pair of their earbuds and was very pleased with the performance. This Bluetooth speaker uses the same app as their earbuds and was very easy to connect to it. The app is one of the best I have used. I have a large collection of Bluetooth speakers, all of which have an app and the JLab offers a lot of functionality compared to other apps for much more expensive speakers. The speaker has top mounted controls that allow you to adjust the pairing, volume, EQ and lighting along with song selection. One feature that is kind of unique is a rotary volume knob. The app expands on these features and allows you to select from 3 different EQ settings as well as a multi band EQ. I like the JLab signature setting. You can also adjust the lighting in more ways than I could count. You can connect up to 100 of these speakers if you want or connect 2 and pair them in stereo through the app. Battery life is rated at 12 hours with the lights off and I’ve been using the speaker for several days and still have plenty of battery life left. The app also allows you to set a voice feature that tells you a function anytime you press a button on the speaker. Sound wise this speaker has good midrange and treble but lacking a little in the bass. It can get plenty loud for what it is. I don’t think audiophiles are buying these speakers for high end listening but for the typical use case around the house or out on the deck this speaker is perfect. I have connected it to my phone and portable CD player, and it works great. Sure, it doesn't compare to my JBL Acoustics 500, but I suspect the woofer alone in the JBL costs more than this whole speaker. This speaker has a lot of features and sounds great for what it is and at the current sale price of $50 is really hard to beat. At minimum I think you would need to spend 2 to 3 times this much for a significantly better Bluetooth speaker. This is the least expensive speaker in my collection and I am more than happy with it.

"Get ready to party with JLab Speaker!" that is what I told my daughter when I received this portable Bluetooth speaker. I know there are a gazillion Bluetooth speakers out there and each has its bells and whistles. I found this speaker to be pretty good because of its powerful sound it can produce, I really did not expect much but when I started playing my Spotify playlist, I was pretty surprised by the clarity and purity of the sound tracks. This Jlab Speaker sports two 2.5" full range drivers and two of the same size radiators. If you enjoy bringing your music with you whether you are at the beach (by the way it is IPX6 waterproof, so you are safe at the pool side as well) or at home, you will be able to play your tunes and enjoy them. Every speaker comes with its own app and this JLab Speaker has nice app to complement any configuration and sound control thanks to the EQ Sound modes. The RGB lighting is pretty cool and does not overtake your experience of enjoying the music. You can customize the lighting via the app as well. This speaker features the latest Bluetooth profile (5.4) so you can get more time playing your music, which is surprisingly good as well. I had it play soft music non stop for over 10 hours and it still had juice left to go on. It is a solid speaker, affordable in price, and you can actually pair multiple speakers for wider sound stage if it is your thing. Check it out for yourself and I highly doubt you would be disappointed by it.

This JLab speaker is a Bluetooth speaker with RGB lighting toward the top of it. It measures in at 9 ½ inches high or 9 ¾ if you include the knob, and 3 ¼ inches wide. It is comparable to a large water bottle. It weighs in at around 3 pounds and has a nice silicone loop handle to carry it around. On the top of the speaker is a knob for volume and 4 other buttons. These buttons turn the speaker on and off, forward a track, go back a track and change the preset EQ settings. To Bluetooth the device you will need to hold the power button down for approximately 8 seconds. The volume knob when pressed will pause the track you are listening to. This speaker delivers 30 watts of sound and can get pretty loud. When the volume is high, the sound doesn’t break up and still sounds amazingly good. The battery, when fully charged, delivers about 12 hours of music without the lighting and about 10 hours with the lighting on. Setting this speaker up is very simple. Just Bluetooth the speaker to your device and you are ready to go. If you want added features, you will want to download the JLab app. With this app you can turn the lights off or on, update the firmware, adjust the equalizer. You can even change the lighting so that it will be in sync to the music you are playing. I personally love this lighting selection as it pulses with the beat of the music. A really cool feature with these JBud speakers is LABSync. You can sync these party speakers together. This makes it so that you can have a few speakers around all playing the same music. Party time. I highly recommend this speaker because the sound is amazing, the price range is very good for what you are getting and the look and ease of use is very good. I personally love this speaker and would highly recommend anyone that loves music like I do to get it. You won’t be disappointed.

The Jlab - Jbuds Party Speaker is a portable Bluetooth speaker that does not disappoint. It packs a solid punch for its size, with decent bass and good mids and even better highs, thanks to its dual 2.5” full range drivers and 2” passive woofers. It also has cool customizable RGB lights that makes it a fun centerpiece for hanging out with friends in your yard, by the pool or the beach. It paired with my phone very easily and it maintains the Bluetooth connection throughout the house. You can even answer calls from it, as it will automatically pause your music and ring. There are a few buttons and a media control knob on the rubber covered top of the speakers which also makes it water resistent. The battery life is great, charges via the included USB-C cable and it will last for a few days at moderate listening volume, up to 12 hours or 10 hours if you use the RGB lights. If you want to take advantage of additional features and customize the RGB lights color pattern and frequency, you will have to install the JLab App. The app offers equalizer preset settings and also a custom mode. Additionally the App will provide LabSync functionality that allows you to sync the sound and lights of up to 100 JLab supported speakers! All in all this is a great all around portable speaker that can make a great addition to any indoor or outdoor party or a walk on the beach, as it only weighs just under 3 lbs and comes with a built-in stretch loop handle.

Bass sucks it's very light sounding at times that thump you're looking for it ain't here

I recently got the JLab JBuds Party Speaker because I wanted something portable, loud, and fun without spending a fortune and so far, this speaker fits the bill. First off, the sound is way better than I expected for the price. It’s got a punchy bass and clear mids, and it easily fills a room with music. My husband who uses a Bose speaker even commented that he likes the sound coming out of this mini party speaker. I’ve used it for a few hangouts or just for background music while working, and it held up great. The RGB lights are a cool touch. They pulse to the beat and add a fun vibe, especially in low light. You can customize them through the button on the speaker itself or the JLab app, which also lets you tweak the EQ settings. I liked having that control, though the app itself could be a bit more intuitive. Battery life is solid! I have used the speaker for a couple days about 5 hours each day, and with the lights on, and it still says battery full. It’s also splash-proof, so I didn’t worry about it near the pool. The strap makes it easy to carry, and it feels sturdy without being bulky. As for the downside, the speaker doesn’t get super loud outdoors unless you’re in a smaller space. It’s good, but not booming. Also, I haven’t tried the Labsync multi-speaker pairing yet, so I can’t speak to how well that work but the idea of syncing up to 100 speakers sounds wild if it actually works smoothly. Overall, for the price, it’s a great value. It’s not going to compete with high-end brands, but for casual use, parties, or even just chilling with music, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s fun, functional, and easy to use. Just don’t expect concert-level sound, and you’ll be happy with it.

The JLab - JBuds Party Speaker is just what I was looking for. I’ve had a similar-sized portable bluetooth speaker for a few years now and have found it to be much more useful than I initially expected. So much so, that my wife and I were recently talking about what we could do if we had another! So, here comes the JLab - JBuds Party Speaker! Honestly, we’re not the loud partying types, but we love to have friends over and just enjoy good food and honest conversation. In those settings, we like to have some nice music playing softly in the background to give a peaceful ambience (Accoustic worship is our favorite). Being able to easily sync a small-but-solid speaker with one of our phones and set it up in the background is just a really nice touch. At other times we may be watching something on a smaller screen together but want good sound. Grab the JLab and we’re good-to-go. We even use it with our secondary ‘TV’ screen (which is actually a video projector). The JLab - JBuds Party Speaker puts out large quality sound when needed. So, if you’re looking to amp up the party, these will do the trick. You can actually sync multiple units (up to 100!) if you’re looking to cover a large area with great sound. It’s just so nice to grab the speaker when you need to use it - and know that it’ll have plenty of juice and be ready to go. Watching the latest videos sent by our kids or grandkids with good sound just makes it so much better. For those who like to brighten things up, these have a programable light band around the top. The JLab app easily synced with the speaker and I really appreciate being able to vary the EQ according to how we’re using it. Along with the app, there are controls on the top of the speaker which are easy to use. And, you can turn the lighting feature off to eliminate the distraction when desired. For us, the JLab - JBuds Party Speaker is just what we needed - and what we use.

The JLab JBuds Party Speaker is a unique RGB speaker that looks cool and sounds as good as it looks. This truly stands out as one of the best Bluetooth speakers that I have ever owned. Out of the box setup is about thirty seconds long if you download the app. Otherwise, shortly after pairing, you are jamming out to a robust and clear little speaker. The most impressive part to me is the amount of bass the unit delivers. But make no mistake, the highs and mids are crisp and equally vibrant. Through the app or the exterior button, you can customize the RGB. The RGB aspect that provides that wow pop and makes the speaker the life of the party. The battery life is extremely long lasting. We tested it one night during a party and had to get it off the patio the next morning when we noticed the sprinklers were on. So, on that note, the water resistant build is solid, and the device still plays. One of my favorite features is the fact that the speaker has a volume knob. The speaker is well-built and actually quite heavy, a testament to its durability. Overall, we love the JLab Party Speaker. The speaker offers a wonderful mix of party and superior performance that will make it the perfect companion to any vibe.

I like this!!!! Excellent sound!!!!! Easy to carry around with a little wrist strap hand holder. Ok, enough of the nice stuff. What I don’t like. As with every Bluetooth speaker I’ve had, it’s loud when you turn it on. Annoyingly loud. The annoying lights. The lights don’t go with the music- they just roll through the colors. How to fix this? In the in Quick Start Guide it says to download the app and you can control that. Well, after downloading it seemed to pair and play but it would not show paired on the app so no way to adjust anything. I’ve deleted the app and tried again…same. The control buttons are on top of the speaker (on/off, fwd, back, etc). That makes sense but the only lighted one is the power button . Guess what button you’re hitting in the dark because those annoying lights are below and not helpful to the top! So, use in daylight. Not a bad speaker but with the annoying issues I found makes me wonder if there are others out there with the features I like.
