Nice item but just didn't meet my needs. Needed a way to attach the Go Pro to the kayak for action filming. Suction cup would not adhere to the kayak material. Disappointed it didn't perform.

It did not work well for my iPhone, was not stable when I placed it on the front mirror. It kept going all crooked and wouldn't stay straight when my phone was placed on it.

Bought this for use on a Harley and it fell off within 40 miles. When it's holding such an expensive camera this is not the device to risk it with

I wanted to share my experience with the Jobe Action Series Suction Cup and GorillaPod Arm for the GoPro. I was really stoked about this item and was able to get a great deal on this item at Best Buy. Yesterday, 1/15/2017, I was finally able to really test out my brand new GoPro Hero5 Black as we were going out into the Gulf to do some fishing. I attached the Jobe suction cup to a CLEAN & smooth surface on the top of the boat (fiberglass – which falls under the “nonporous surfaces”). I pulled and pulled on it before moving anywhere, and it didn’t budge, so I figured we were good to go. So, we hit the channel in the Gulf, and hit 25-30MPH, no problem. We stopped at a little red snapper fishing hole we know of; while sitting there fishing, the d@mn think un-attached and started sinking in the ocean…I dove into the cold water as soon as I saw it sinking. But, the water was so murky and deep, I couldn’t reach/see it underwater in time. So, my brand new Gopro Hero5 (less than 1 month old) is now part of Davey Jones’ locker…what a day.

One of if not Best Suction Cup Mounts for GoPro.

So I was really impressed with this mount as where you wouldn't expect it to be so secure because of its lightweight and ease of use. The screw tight system works wonders compared to the push down button system as it's extremely easy to tighten and loosen. I tried this on my car going about 100 - 110 and it stuck on to my car great. One down fall to this I would say is that the top ball joint even if tightened can be moved with enough weight on it. Also both ball joints are tightened by the same knob which kind of takes away from how easily you would be able to angle it and secure it if it was independently secured. All in all I love this car mount and only gave it 4 stars because of the fact that with enough weight depending on how you are angling it can move.

If the camera could be stabilized better I'd like it. Made more for non moving photo/videography. When driving in a nice car inside auction cupped picture or video is unusable. WIGGLY!

Suction cup is the the worst I’ve used. Perfectly flat and clean glass plus perfectly clean suction cup equals the cup falling off the glass in 5 minutes with a GoPro attached. Buy something different. I’m outside my return period and Jobys customer service did not return my email about my suction cup issues.

    Favorite suction cup mount

The build quality is amazing and the suction cup gets extremely tight. I needed this mount for my car and couldn't be happier. As long the threads are secured and the suction cup is engaged, you're good to go. Also It is very easy to adjust since it has a ball joint on both ends. I haven't tried Joby's action adapter kit yet, but I am going to. My assumption is that if you use their tripod buckle adapter you'll get better audio/video since it is compatible with the anti-vibration insert.

    great adjustability but be careful

I bought this for attaching a GoPro to a car. It has excellent 360 degrees adjustability and good suction. The bad news: because of its "twisting" motion to lock in the suction, rather than a lever, it is possible you can scratch the finish of your car if you allow the cup to spin while you try to tighten the rotating red ring. I learned this lesson the hard way -- I now have a ring-shaped scratch which I will need to buff out. I will not use it again on my nice car. And yes, the car was polished and wiped clean prior to attaching the Joby. A great device otherwise.

Doesn't stick to anything except glass

I thought the suction was defective but even after JOBY sent me 3 new suction mounts, this stuff sucks!! The suction literally only suctions to glass. I was hoping it would work on my dashboard which it didnt, but the arm isn't long enough to move up from the windshield and stay upright. I tried it on flat, clean, smooth tables, tiles, and other plastics/metals, it doesn't stick to anything whatsoever

Vibration transmission makes the arm useless

    Posted .

Works great if you plan to remain stationary, otherwise the arm transmits too much vibration. The suction cup that most critical reviews mention as being a problem actually held well, but the arm is just useless.
