this was my favorite movie of 2019 by far. The charachter build-up was phenomenial! Best that i can recall, ever. Great performance by JP, won the best actor for a reason, The follow-up will have to come correct, the bar has been raised extremely high. Stop reading and start watching, You owe it to yourself to see this movie, period!!!

At first we weren't sure about whether we wanted to see, much less buy this movie, but we are soooo glad we did make this purchase. Joaquin Phoenix was phenomenal in this movie. He played the role of the Joker to the T. This movie really portrays the mindset of the Joker, and it is fascinating.

The quality of this movie is fantastic. Extremely well done in all levels. Unfortunately there are some disturbing parts which make this not a movie for everyone. It does however bring up valid points to discuss about our nation’s mental health care system. Additionally it has something to say about the social classes in most societies.

I’ve seen Joker twice since it opened. The movie is “based” on the Joker from the comics, and director Todd Phillips does a nice job dropping some Easter eggs for Joker/Batman fans. But this is definitely NOT a comic book movie or a movie for kids. I believe the film is nothing short of a masterpiece. A genuine piece of modern art.

I avoided this flick for quite some time due to the hype. However, I finally purchased and found it a compelling movie. It was well acted and had great production values. If you don't own it, I say it is a worthy addition to your film library.

Is it scary that one of Batman’s greatest adversaries is given one of the most compelling origin narratives? A story that needed to be told and so well done. I’m not sure it’ll change my view of the clown prince of crime (with ya Harley!) but I will be more invested in how they show the interactions between Joker and the super heroes!

This was such an awesome take on the superhero universe. Taking a very well known character and applying to real world situations. Joaquin Phoenix did such an amazing job, the type of performance where you don’t see the actor but only the character he became. If you’re looking for campy marvel type superhero movie, this isn’t for you.

Love this movie. Even more, I love the controversy this movie caused, for no reason! This is a daunting tale of a human punching bag starting to find his confidence to punch back. When society creates a monster and the monster lashes out, no one lashes at society, and he finds that hilarious.

This movie may not make you happy, but it is a great movie. It shows the plight of the Joker in this retelling as a tale of the failures of our health care systems and focuses on social disparity. The twists and turns with Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of him are amazing.

A great movie, saw it in theaters and liked it, but seeing it again at home changed my opinion to one of the best of the year. Not for everyone but if you like crime and older gritty movies you’ll like. Steelbook looks better in person! Wasn’t sure abt it but once I received was glad I got it; the glossyness really makes it stand out

High quality HD in this 4K makes this story of a broken person surreal! You feel his feelings and experience the lack of empathy! Best Buy had a great price tag on this DVD & was delivered to my car by curbside. I hope this type of delivery will continue after our retail lives get back to normalcy.

This was a great movie and you can't go wrong with the steelbook packaging (unless of course, Best Buy packages your item insufficiently and it gets damaged in shipment). I had to buy this twice as the first one I received was dented on the spine. I am supremely happy now that I've received an undamaged item!

This movie is a must own wish I had gotten the steel book as I collect them but had to own the movie regardless Joaquin Phoenix does the role of his lifetime and we are seeing why he’s one of the greatest actors of our time. I highly recommend this movie to any DC fan or anyone who doesn’t know the backstory it’s an excellent movie.

Don't write this off as just another comic book movie. This is a completely new origin story. You could remove the subtle references to the DC universe and rename Arthur's alter-ego something silly like Bonker and it would still be a Psychological-Thriller/Drama masterpiece in my eyes.

Wonderfully told story, with amazing actors. Good adaptation of the joker origin story. Dont be one of those guys "this isnt how it happened it the comics!". This isnt supposed to be a comic adaptation. Take it for what it's worth, a great movie with great actors. Really shows the struggle between upper and lower class.

Before going into the movie, I didn't know it was kind of a remake of an older film, The King of Comedy. When you see what the basis is for that movie and then apply to a character like the Joker it makes the movie that much more compelling. I have watched this move at least 4 times and I will watch it again. Such a good movie.

One of the best performances by an actor (Joaquin Phoenix) that I have ever seen. Academy award well deserved. Phoenix has you actually feeling sorry for this psychopathic killer. I was hooked on the story line and couldn't take my eyes off the screen even during the most violent scenes. Well worth the price of the DVD.

Joker is a near perfect movie. I am still shocked that the was made by the same guy that did that Hangover movies. Joaquin phoenix is a revelation as Joker. He definitely deserved every award that came his way. The only reason I didn’t give this review a full 5 star rating is because of how the filmmakers chose to portray Thomas Wayne. They clearly took the “Trump” hating angle. Thomas Wayne’s portrayal felt disingenuous, and disturbed the flow of the story. Other than that, it was a great film.

From failed comedian Arthur Fleck to his rise to something much more sinister. Take a journey on a slow downward spiral of psychological lunacy & madness!! Until crack is too big and the levee breaks and all the craziness comes rushing in. Joaquin Phoenix performance is riveting. Will see who really has the last laugh!

My husband & I have been watching this movie over and over during the quarantine. It’s depressing, yet highly enjoyable and addictive. Joaquin Phoenix plays a very relatable Joker, and the song “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra really compliments the movie and times we’re living in. It’s truly art imitating life.
