    Joker - Best One Yet

In Gotham City, mentally troubled comedian Arthur Fleck is disregarded and mistreated by society. He then embarks on a downward spiral of revolution and bloody crime. This path brings him face-to-face with his alter-ego: the Joker. The plot tells the story of a man who lives a hard life...psychological issues, financial problems, mistreated and misunderstood by most around him and his journey to madness. Don't miss this one.

It ties mental illness into the comic book character of Joker to give a plausible back story of how such a person may exist. Joaquin Phoenix does an excellent job bringing this role to life. While this movie may not be for everyone because of its violence and social commentary, I enjoyed it. I usually don’t like movies with a message as I watch movies for entertainment but I liked this one.

I watched this movie with a friend at the movie theater and was blown away. This movie talks about the story of the life of Arthur Fleck, and how his mental illness led him to become the Joker. Joaquin Phoenix portrayal of Arthur Fleck/Joker is amazing. He deserves a Oscar for his role. Highly recommend this movie. Want to give parents a warning: DO NOT let your children (especially if they’re 10 or under) watch this alone.

A wonderful masterpiece. Not to be compared in any way with the work of Ledger or Nick but rather a completely different version of the Joker that stands in his own category. The movie certainly is not for the faint of heart. It shows the downward spiral of a mentally sick man that faced a perceived severe trigger. Highly recommend. However, it is not the type of movie I would imagine you would want to watch over and over.

Joker is a masterpiece. It’s dark, disturbing, brutal, violent, and an immaculately crafted film. All while shining a much needed light on mental illness, and the repercussions of not addressing this problem that so many people neglect. This film will stand the test of time. 10/10

First and foremost, I love steelbooks! Glad I was able to pick up Joker in steelbook. Really enjoyed the Joker movie. Mr. Phoenix did an excellent rendition of the Joker. I’d put him right up there with Heath Ledger. This version of the Joker isn’t your typical popcorn and candy comic book movie. It’s more realistic and in tune with the darkness of a villain. I wouldn’t recommend this movie for young children viewers.

DC nails it with this iteration of the greatest villain in the history of comic books. Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is a perfect blend of victim and monster. The Oscar-winning score is bone chilling and really captures the film in a way almost no other score, for me, has ever done. It's no wonder why this film won 2 Oscars and became the 1st Rated R film to cross the $1 Billion mark at the box office.

Even before I saw this film like other films I read what their saying on the internet. One thing that particularly stuck was the fact Arthur Fleck isn’t the quote on quote real Joker. Arthur has a mental illness like most people today one of his symptoms is his uncontrollable laughter. The film’s whole premise is that society has turned it’s back on Arthur was leads him to a life of crime. A lot of what goes on in the film your not sure if it’s real or just in Arthur’s head. His romance with neighbor Sophie Dumond is all in his head sadly. I knew this before I Ever saw the film it leaked on the net like most things do nowadays. I’ve already read spoilers for Black Widow.

This took us a while to watch after we bought it. The reviews said it was a twisted movie, and it definitely was, but it was very well done. So glad we finally watched this! It portrayed a sad character, abused by his mother and society, who finally snaps. Great twists too, that you just don’t see coming. It will blow your mind in some parts, and keep you thinking about it for days after watching it.

Didn’t know what to expect from this movie, but it was better than I thought it would be. For me, it gave me some insight into the mental illness issues that people may deal with. It was really sad to see how hard it can be for people (with a mental illness). I would think it would be especially hard for those who are never diagnosed and/or get the help they may need. Joaquin Phoenix did a great job portraying this.

This is an origin story I didn't know I needed. This movie is dark and dank to match the times but there is a beauty to it throughout. Joaquin Phoenix is the real stand out here as he delivers one of the best joker performances I have ever seen. His slow descent to madness is handled so well and you even feel for him and can see his motivations. He deserves an Oscar for this movie hands down. This is a must watch.

'Joker' is an amazing film that is def worth all the hype and praise it received. The directing, acting, story, settings, etc. are just excellent. As for more details without giving away too much: it is a great origin story. Phoenix's acting makes you want to see more of him after the transformation is complete. You see why he racked up during award season. I would def recommend watching this.

    A Character Study

Not your average "Comic Book Movie" as it happens outside the DC Universe ..or does it. It's a bit closer to Scorsese's "king of Comedy" with a bit of "Taxi Driver". There are story points I could quibble with, but it's an effective film. And this is a stellar visual presentation with a few nice supplements.

Joker is most definitely not a movie for everybody, but in the greatest performance of his career, Phoenix is electrifying. Frank Sinatra singing “Send In The Clowns” adds some badly needed humor, the cinematography is so incredible that the camera becomes an important character in the middle of all the action, and the schizophrenic performance by Phoenix blazes like a bonfire.

Joaquin Phoenix deserves all the awards he has been getting including the upcoming Oscars. The movie itself is a stand-alone from the Batman series and delves into the madness behind the man that became the Joker. While Health Ledgers version in the “Dark Knight” is the finalized version of the Joker, Phoenix shows the evolution from man to monster and all the nature and nurture eventualities that shaped him.

One of those stories that depict the saying," Live long enough to see yourself become a villain!" And that indeed, definitely dont want to make any spoilers for those that haven't seen it, but it was definitely worth the watch. Starts slow as the introduce character and build on the plot, then voila, it gets intense and almost heartless. You definitely understand a villain's route. This film is epic.

The best DC movie in a LONG time. Even if you don't care AT ALL about superhero movies, this one is a must watch. It is dark, gritty, and gives a whole new dimension to the Joker story. The 4k Blu Ray is something to behold. Crisp, clean, beautiful Dolby Vision and massive sound. This is the way the movie should be watched at home. Blows away any streaming source.

I really enjoyed this movie, especially Joaquin Phoenix's performance as Joker. After watching it I think the whole outcry about it glorifying Joker's character seemed overblown, but it's a hard-hitting movie. It's got plenty of nods to Joker elements and other things in the Batman universe, but it's a movie that's easy to watch without knowing anything about it. Looks excellent on 4K Blu-ray.

Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing Job with his own interpretation of the Clown Prince of Crime “The Joker.” I wish people would stop comparing it to Heath Ledger’s Joker. Yes Heath was amazing at it, but if you can stop comparing actors and how they played the role, you can really see how Phoenix was just as awesome. And he deserves all the credit for it. Well done Joaquin.

Wonderful performance by Joaquin Phoenix earning him a much deserved Oscar. If you like the character of the Joker and how he arguably the most messed up villain in all of fiction you will love this movie. If you want laughs and a happy ending, look elsewhere my friend. This is a dark movie, with scenes of disturbing violence that will stick with you. Please use discretion if you have children.
