This was a good take on the origin story of the Joker. Although he is a favorite villain of the Batman, you begin to feel sorry for him because of the situations he faces. As he begins to increase his influence, keep in mind that the people of Gotham are normally portrayed in a specific way across most media. If you are a fan of Batman characters and would like to see another Joker origin story, watch this and it you'll enjoy it. I would recommend this to someone who is used to scenes from GoT or TWD. It's not incredibly gory as either of those shows, but there is something along those lines for a few moments.

Joaquin Phoenix did a great job in his role as the Joker. The movie was number one at the box office two weeks in a row. It was number one again at the box office in it's fourth week. The movie is dark and gory. However, it was still entertaining. Joaquin Phoenix won an Oscar for Best Actor. Joker grossed $1,074,251,311 at the box office worldwide!

Joaquin Phoenix gives the performance of his career and of the year in my opinion. A fantastic film. It doesn’t make fun of mental illness or say that the “joker” is in the right. It’s more of an observation of it and let’s you decide whether he is right or wrong. SO much truth in this film and which matches up with our current world situation. I love it, love it, love it!

An excellent depiction of how this sociopath was made. He was a victim of both nature and nurture. Joker was a socially awkward, delusional man that tried to live as a " normal" person in a emotionally detached world. It also speaks about how much mental illness is in this country.

This could be hailed as the prequel to the first Batman movie. This is Joaquin Phoenix’s well deserved oscar of his portrayal of the man who became dressed up by as a clown. A true character study of a movie seeing the horrors of growing up in one’s youth and into adulthood. A definite must see for Batman fans.

Without giving away all the details of the film, Joaquin Phoenix delivers what may be his best performance to date as a dark, twisted take on the larger than life psychopath, the Joker. While this take doesn't exactly adhere to any of the previous film incarnations of the character, it does manage to bring something truly fresh and frighteningly realistic to the big screen.

The story of a joker created by society was a concept so daring and marvelous its had me leaning on the edge of my seat. From the acting , visual detail, and overall realism of a man struggle to fit in society mold. Arthur Fleck was a character trying miserably to fulfill his purpose in life but in the end found his destiny to become the most notorious villian of all times.

I hope this movie wins in every category it's nominated in. Best actor, best screenplay, love the music and Joaquin Phoenix has done his best acting yet in this one!! It shows you the descend of one mans fall into darkness and mental illness along with the story line that ties into Batman!!! Watch the extras after you watch the movie and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Though this film is similar to The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver, it stands on its own with an unforgettable performance by Joaquin Phoenix. The score is ominous, with some iconic scenes and a really relatable take on the Joker’s origin. You really feel for him throughout his descent into madness. This film opens the door for more unique comic book films in the future.

This movie puts a whole new spin on the put of the joker from what your use to seeing from the original Batman T.V series it’s keeps you on the edge of your seat threw out the movie while you couldn’t ask for a better actor to play the part of the joker this is definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time would recommend it to all my family and friends.

Immediately when I saw the steelbook artwork for Joker, I thought to myself, "I have to get it." As mesmerizing Joaquin Phoenix's performance was, the steelbook was equally mesmerizing. I'll admit, when Joker was announced I was against it because Joker doesn't need an origin story. Also, at that time, I rather not see another performance by Jared Leto. My interest for the movie started to catch my attention when I found out who was involved such as Todd Philips, the director of the Hangover trilogy! What came afterward left me bewildered. In the end, Joker turned out to be a great movie.

The original joker was morbid, but in a bubbly “joking” way. I’m not to keen of his comic book appearances, but as a stand-alone film, with little background than what I have seen in prior films, Joaquin is by far my favorite! He gives us a joker plagued by life’s worst injustices, and it’s end result is explosive to say the least. You won’t regret this watch!

A prequel to the genesis of the Joker. Joaquin Phoenix, the quirky undefinable actor, captures the Joker completely. He is not acting, he is the Joker. A captivating story of how one of DC's most iconic villains came to be. I can't wait to see if Joaquin reprises his role in the next chapter as the Joker develops into a mega-villain. I'll buy that Blu Ray disc too.

Joker is one of the best films of the year and one of the most unique take on the superhero/comic book genre. This film has not gone unnoticed by people which is a great thing and with 11 oscar nominations its bound to win something. This steelbook is so sleek looking and it conveys the character of joker greatly. I would recommend this film and steelbook completely.

Def worthy of Best Actor award. The joker character was a hard follow after Heath Ledger. Phoenix makes it his own and you don't think of the Dark Knight while watching this movie. It is not for everyone, if you want the fun action Marvel movies this is not it. The movie is more about the mental health system. Looks fantastic in 4k.

Joaquin Phoenix tragic turn as the Joker breathes new life into the comic book genre of villains. Walked over and stepped upon throughout his existence , he finds his niche when he does away with three thugs acting as clean cut suits. Now Joker has a loyal following a n d let's just say from now on - he won't disappoint........

If you're looking for an escapist comic book movie, this is not it. This is a new imagining of the Joker backstory. No Batman in this one. Very dreary story obviously influenced by Martin Scorsese's work (Taxi Driver, King of Comedy). Joaquin Phoenix is truly awesome in his performance. While I enjoyed the movie, I'm not sure I will want to view it again and again.

Didn’t get a chance to watch in theaters, I didn’t really read much into this film, critics can over hype something and be opposite audience, both was improving wrong oh boy! They hype is real phenomenal movie! Totally relatable to real world problems! Story, actors, just phenomenal! Absolutely stunning film! And that steelbook from Best Buy is a must! Great buy!
