This film is simply amazing, he's not a hero, more of a lost soul in this. You can feel everything Arthur is going through, you don't really need to cheer him away from things until it really unravels. The music, acting, cinematography all so gritty in this sort of slumped burning ember of gotham feels real. There's no escape and all angles are hyped to 110%. I would certainly tell you to take the joker for a spin, and the 4k is incredible, hd is there to and a digital multiformat online (for now).

DC Comics should not be trying to match Marvel. DC is much darker and serious subject matters and characters. This is movie, while maybe not the origin story most are familiar with, definitely fits the Joker character. It is violent, but compared to what? Deadpool? John Wick? Not even close. It gets more attention for the violence in the movie because it is more gritty and real. Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor.

Now this film this DC Origins Film which is just absolutely completely definitely positively totally awesome excellent great super fantastic terrific very cool Movie to see/watch on the Big Silver Screen/Huge Television Screen for 4K/3-D at least more than 50” or Higher! This latest recent DCEU Movie is going to be down on the Books with Awards etc...for a very long time and a very long while especially Joaquin Phoenix performance is astounding, dynamic and innovative right down the dotted i’s plus the crossed t’s!!

I finally got around to watching this movie. The way I took it was that we learn how one of Batman's biggest foes developed and got his name. Joaquin Phoenix was excellent in this movie. At first you somewhat feel badly for his character. A mentally challenged man trying to make ends meet while also caring for his mentally challenged mother. As the movie progresses things change rapidly and the true "Joker" comes out. That's all I'll say for now so as not to spoil the movie for those who have not seen it yet.

I went to the theater to see this movie the first time being cautious about expectations. For all of the Jokers we've previously seen on screen, some have been definitive (Ledger and Hamill) and some others... well, they were disappointing. Phoenix provided an interesting and fascinating take of this character, and I dare say he's become one of my favorites. Obviously I liked the movie enough to purchase my own copy for home use for repeat viewings.

The BEST Batman movie in the entire series. If Joaquin Phoenix doesn't win every award possible for his portrayal of the Joker, we are doing a disservice to the true art that he put on the screen. Don't know any other actor who could have played this role. It takes someone naturally weird to play the Jokers character as he falls into "a slow descent into madness" as the synopsis puts it. And the Joker goes full blown crazy. This was the best movie we've seen in all of 2019, thanks to Joaquin Phoenix!!

Only an actor of Joaquin Phoenix's caliber could pull off such a tightrope of a character. He portrays a personality that we might end up rooting for, despite his inner demons getting the better of him. The writing gives some nuanced psychological pushes that makes Arthur's devolution into a completely convincing metamorphosis (for instance, Penny slyly mocks him when Arthur tells about his dream of becoming a stand-up comic). Joker is a nightmarish, gritty origin story of a menacing supervillain.

I had low expectations for this movie. I figured it was mostly a cash grab, trying to ride the coat tails of the success of Batman films to another big Hollywood payday for the studio. I’ve disliked most DC movies lately, with a few exceptions. And I couldn’t say that I was a fan of Joaquin Phoenix’s acting in particular. Having said all that, I loved this movie. Now they are talking about a sequel. I can’t see that going well. But I hope I’m proven wrong again.

Beautiful slip cover and design to an uneven film. Whatever you decide about the movie, it made a billion dollars at the box office and scored some impressive awards for the cast and crew. The story is a little simple, if not predictable at times. The concepts feel forced. The film has elements of rehash from other films prior to it. But the quality of the way the movie was filmed with cinematography, lighting, production design, it is simply flawless.

Movie was really great. Forever alone in a crowd, failed comedian Arthur Fleck seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks -- the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he's part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.

Really enjoyed this movie and it’s message behind it all. It’s more about a man with a mental illness and how he is received by others in today’s society rather than a movie about the clown prince of crime, himself. Overall, I feel the movie moves at a great pace and doesn’t feel rushed or slow at any point. Joaquin Phoenix delivers an outstanding Performance in this movie and that really makes it what it is. The steel book was a great addition to my collection and looks spectacular.

I am not a super hero fan at all or a Joaquin Phoenix fan but this movie turned out to be something very different and special. I liked the whole approach that they took to make something truly different and in this day and age it is very hard to find something like this. I do not think this is a kids movie what so ever but if you are someone who is tired of the same old thing like I am, give this one a try. I think you will be pleased.

I will not spoil anything, but I can say this is a very interesting film. At first I did not know where they were going with it, if they were trying to mock those with mental illness or simply highlight the severity and danger of it. Either way, it gets you thinking. Joaquin Phoenix was perfectly cast in the role and makes the movie that much better. A must see film in my opinion, if for no other reason that to open your mind to alternate mentalities people have in this world

Joaquin's performance and scenography in all it's brilliance. Grotesque, haunting and cringy. Hard to watch at times,... but so mesmerizing, you won't blink an eye watching it. Tragic, but with seriously funny moments. Emotional rollercoaster - sometimes, with multiple emotions popping-up at the same time. this is far from a typical action-riddled predictable super-hero movie - it's a proper psychological thriller/drama, with the single best character development I have ever seen.

Excellent but a dark version of the Joker. The story line kept me glued to the TV. Just when you think you know what will happen, they throw in another twist to the plot. As for Joaquin Phoenix (The Emperor of Rome in the film Gladiator) he should receive an Oscar for his performance in Joker. I highly recommend this film.

This is not a happy film, but it is a very beautiful story, well acted, well Directed, and excellent cinematography. I purchased the blu ray having not seen the film, and was advised that perhaps I wouldn't want to own the film... that the film is a "must see," but perhaps only once. Having now seen the film, I disagree, and this is a film I will want to see over and over again. Additionally, the homage to each previous joker are like cameos from those who came before.

This turned out to be an amazing, simple, twisted movie based on one of the best villains of all time. Joaquin puts out a show stopper performance, the script, the twist, everything, turned out to be amazing. So glad I purchased this 4K/Blu-Ray/Digital copy, even though I don't own a 4K TV yet, I can still enjoy the digital and Blu-Ray versions. If you are a true Joker fan and want something similar to Christopher Nolans "real world" type movies, this is a must have.

A take on a classic and timeless DC character that finally dives to answer the question: “How does someone end up that way.” In this case, we see what type of troubles and soul-crushing experiences cause Arthur Fleck to transform into Joker. Culminating to the event of becoming what society has helped mold him to become. In a way, mirroring back to us all the ugliness he believes exists in his world. Oscar worthy performance should be enough to get you to check out this film.

This was a terrific movie and the collectible limited steelbook made it a must have for my movie collection. Different from the other Batman films because it is darker and more violent but it is an origin story about the joker so it was to be expected. Joaquin pheonix was cast perfectly and he does a phenomenal job in the role. Not as incredible as Heath ledger but a pretty close second. The score is very good as well and fits the dark tone of the film. Highly recommended!

I was BLOWN AWAY!!! I didn't know what to expect when going in, but quickly understood. That laugh made so much sense!! I started thinking about all the Batman movies and cartoons that Joker was in when he did that laugh, and it made me look at it differently. Under a new light. ...Beautifully done!! If you are a DC fan, then you will understand. If you are not a DC fan, then you might not grasp my words. Still, everyone needs to see this movie.
