I remember this from when I was growing up. It is a very good movie with lots of good parts

Thought this movie couldn't get better, but wait, it just did... in 4K. Every time the studios do a 4K transfer I look to see if they have don't the film justice. This one is great with a much wider color gambit that makes everything feel much more real as you watch the movie. Some of the older effects do seem to be a little rough in comparison to integrity of the film, it is all much more beautiful and I would highly recommend this 4K transfer of Jumanji. You just have to still love Robin Williams, now you see him even better then before.

It may be too intense for kids, but it's a lot of fun with great special effects!

The quality on 4K is good but not great, not a big difference from the 1080p version.

They tried to release Jumanji on Blu-Ray years ago, but it was a terrible quality. Now, they tried again due to the Jumanji sequel and with Robin Williams's passing. How does the end result fare? The video is amazing. How amazing? Sony did a 4K and non-4K variant of the restoration of this movie. This Blu-Ray has a 1080p quality version of the 4K scan (for those who don't need 4K). And it is easily among the best looking Blu-Rays I have ever owned. The sound is still great. Let's put it that way. The extras are unexpectedly great. Not many Blu-Rays get supplemental material unless they are getting a studio-specific treatment (like Shout Factory or Criterion Collection). This release offers a good amount of extra content to enjoy. If you want the 4K copy, the 4K quality video and the Dolby Atmos sound are the only real upgrades over this. Otherwise, you have one of Robin Williams's best movies getting an unexpectedly great treatment and release.

So the age of affordable 4K blu-ray players is finally here, and Jumanji was one of the first films I used the new player for. First off, the menu for the 4K was not impressive in the least. It looks like something out of a "make your own dvd menu" program. However, it is 10 bit HDR, and Dolby Atmos has some cool effects. The CGI has aged rather poorly, but the film itself is still a great watch, and it's hard to not get sad when you see Robin Williams. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Enjoyed this movie, Just not quite as much as the new version.

Undeniably, a film worth the purchase due to its nostalgic unique storyline, talented characters and context originality. Highly Satisfied with my purchase and worth having into a collection.

There are few children's movies that I particularly enjoyed – I can recount The Borrowers, Labyrinth and The Neverending Story. Jumanji, however takes a new place among children's films – in fact, Jumanji is about simplistic story about kids playing a board game. Based on a gorgeous picture book story of the same name, this movie takes a beautiful magical adventure and makes it into a thrill ride that defies all natural laws.
