great for regular charging

Also the product description can be confusing, as I thought it came with a charger cable. When i returned it to best buy, the lady even ask does it come with a cable as she was confused herself.

Bad Cable.

Then I could wiggle the cable and it would work for a second or less. I was ready to bring the whole thing back but I noticed the cable was a std USB on one end and the other end was the old style connector like the one for my S5. I had a gold plated USB connector cable laying around and I tried it and it's worked ever since. The cable end or cable was bad. So I just tossed the old cable and saved myself an hour driving. Also I learned later the Geek Squad isn't all it's cooked up to be and I would have probably wasted a lot of time talking to them (based on a later trip when I took advantage of my Geek insurance policy). Buy the Samsung charger. It's really good and works great.

Run-of-the mill charger at an exorbitant price

It does what it is supposed to do, just like any other car charger does. But, instead of costing $10-$20, this costs nearly $50.
