Functional Economy - nice to have around...

Gumy Mini True Wireless Headphones Functional Economy – nice to have a backup set or an economy set of buds that are just fine for most everything that the day brings. Man the market is being flooded with BlueTooth wireless earbuds… so what to get? I can say I love me some wireless earbuds, so I have a nice little collection with something at each price point to keep handy at home and at work. So where do these guys fit in? At this price point they don’t have all the fancy trimmings like ANC and “pass-through” settings and 4 microphones on each bud, but all that isn’t needed all the time. How about a nice set of buds that doesn’t break the bank and is good for most of the daily needs? These might just be what you are looking for. Where do they fit in? Morning wake-up and dog walking >> YEP – these pop right in and connect quickly to the phone for my morning NPR news while getting ready for work and emptying the dog before I leave for work. I can also “Ask Google” to get a weather report and check on the daily calendar and to-do list. These are water-resistant, so a little splashing around the sink or dealing with walking the dog in the rain (she HATES going outside when it is raining!) no worries about a light spritz of water. Driving directions >> YEP – these will work for “left ear only” when driving to get navigator app directions while keeping the other ear open to hear Karen behind me honking her horn as soon as the light turns green. Binge-watching Ted Lasso and Big Bang >> YEP – hey for those ensemble-cast shows that don’t have a lot of background music (don’t forget TOS Star Trek and the other oldies but goldies) these are so light and easy to pop in that they are handy to keep on the nightstand or by the keyboard. YouTube and (heaven forbid) TikTok addiction >> YEP – go ahead and waste countless hours of your valuable time and go down the rabbit hole with your YouTube or TikTok channels… these little buds will provide you with hours of mind-numbing entertainment. NICE STUFF about these buds: LIGHT as a FEATHER – OK pretty much any wireless earbud is going to be small and relatively light, but these are noticeably compact and light in the ears. SOLID PRODUCT - JVC has hit it here with a solid product that has decent sound at a price that makes getting that “extra pair” or a set for the kids very affordable. If the kids want to play the “Karen Card” if they don’t get the expensive ones that the other kids have…. Tell them to get a job. COLORS – if you have a set or two of CARBON BLACK or ICY WHITE buds, it’s kind of nice to have a good selection of bright colors to make a fashion statement. I promise, if you get the red, green, or blue – people will be asking you about them. If you are shopping for a set to get for the kids, you have a good choice of colors that should make your little scamper happy. NOICE! USB C Charging – hasn’t everyone gone to USB C? Nope they have not, be sure to check the specs if you want to standardize on USB C. PRICE POINT – I held back on wireless earbuds for quite some time since it just takes a second for one to fall out and get crunched before I could find it. Anything that puts a dent in my pocket either stays in a safe place, or has wings to lock it in my ear before I go out into the cold cruel world. This set is not something I would want to lose, but it if happens, I don’t have to get all puckered up on the replacement cost. OK these are a few bucks more than some other economy buds, and of course a lot less than the rest of the buds. I have tried a few of the “entry level” buds, and can say that JVC has done a good job with these. Put down just a few more bucks for the JVC and you will have made a good decision. Greetings and Stay Safe from Central Georgia!

The Gumy Mini True Wireless headphones have been fun to use. They are small and convenient to use. I've used them for the gym and for a few phone calls. Listening to music though is hit or miss. When turning up to higher volumes, they do cut out and crackle some, but for this price you cannot expect too much.

hard to follow instructions but worth it!

The JVC Gumy wireless headphones come with an excessive amount of paperwork to sort through to find the instructions and unfortunately, did not include a "quick-start" guide. There is also no mention in the instructions on how to switch from music to phone. Located at the bottom of the second page is a QR code that, when scanned, provides simple instructions for anything/everything you need! Earbuds pair very easily - no issues at all. Controls seem simple enough - left ear is play/pause and volume control. Right ear is play/pause, FF, and rewind. Unfortunately, the controls require you to push on the earbud hard enough to make it "click", not just a tap. The positive side to this is that you won't accidentally touch it and make it change. The downside is that it requires a definite push, so oftentimes you push too many times, or not enough and end up pausing the music. Click once and it restarts but too may times, and you've paused it again. I found it easier to simply use the volume control on my phone. (admittedly, this can be learned and would be easier over time) Once you get past the click issues, the JVC has incredible sound and nice bass, even at low volume. I tried it with different music genres from rock to classical and was impressed with the full range of sound. The storage case is small, and includes a charging cable. Fully charges in about 2,5 hours, and once the case is charged, it can recharge the earbuds up to 2 times. I'm not sure on total hours of life between charges but feel confident that it will last long enough for me! Great product, super sound! Skip the instruction book and scan the QR code!

The Gumy Mini True Wireless headphones are small and lightweight, which is exactly what I am looking for in wireless earbuds. I have sensitive ears, so the lighter the better. These weigh almost nothing, which is great. I also love that they seamlessly integrate with the Google Assistant.

    Great for pricepoint

These JVCs are decent quality overall and great for the pricepoint. Small compared to many others on the market which i like and stick out a little. They stay in pretty good while running. Have to re-adjust occasionally with vigerous activity. Sound is decent enough for workout but not high quality for all day use in my opinion. Mids/highs/lows not balanced that well.

I'm underwhelmed by these earbuds. Battery life is awful, even with a charging case on hand. Sound quality is atrocious. I expected more from a JVC product, even in the budget range. Not super high audiophile quality, but at least average sound. I wouldn't even recommend them for children. Sound is muffled, like the speakers are covered with cotton balls. The highs are scratchy and the lows/bass is indistinct. Call quality was ok. I could hear myself echo when talking, though the receiving party said I sounded clear, but far away. The earbuds appear cheaply made and not very durable. They are comfortable and do fit well. Pairing to my phone and tablet was quick and easy. I never did get the tap buttons to work right and was unwilling to press harder. They might require a firmer touch than I was willing to use. All in all, as much as I like JVC products, I can't recommend these particular earbuds.

    Good; not great

I purchased these earbuds about a month ago (wanting another set that was unavailable in the store ...) and was pleasantly surprised. The price was okay and I have been pleasantly surprised so far: they pair easily and the sound is very good and clear. The earbuds will also give a clear warning when the battery life is low. They come with additional sized buds (for different ears) but I haven't needed to change as the ones provided fit fine. The only reason I can't give this product 5 stars are two reasons, which are sort of related to each other: 1) The battery life and 2) the time to fully charge. It seems like I have to charge for about 7-8 hours for approximately 5-6 hours of listening. I have owned other wireless headphones that barely need more than 3 hours that can be on for more than 12 hours before needing to be charged again. Otherwise, I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a low-priced set of wireless headphones that doesn't mind charging a lot.

    JVC went above and beyond

I'm enjoying these little guys. They actually sound very good especially when you consider the price. The build quality is excellent and not what you would expect. I appreciate the magnetic case closure and the charge indication LED which would normally not be on a set of buds in this tier. The size of the case is of the smallest I've seen and would easily fit in your front jeans pocket and you would never know it's there. JVC has gone above and beyond and it shows. Once in your ear the buds turn on automatically and you are greeted by a female voice telling you the power is on. To me, a voice is always better than beeps. The cherry on top is USB C charging. JVC has a winner here!

These JVC earbuds are decent, but not the best in my opinion. They appear to be on the cheap side. I’m always a fan of how companies package their products. Presentation is key. The inside packaging was not top notch. The case the earbuds come in are extremely lightweight and doesn’t have the same build quality build like other earbuds I own. The sound quality was decent. I was able to hear all spectrums, but the bass was a bit lacking in my opinion. The tap and double press buttons are very hard to press. You have to press quite hard for it to register. By doing so, it was pressing the earbuds deeper into my ear. This was not comfortable at all. I had to take 2 fingers to hold onto the earbuds, and use 3rd finger to to press the button. I was expecting more with the JVC name. There are better earbuds out there in my opinion.

I'm amazed that true wireless earbuds have reached this price point. These small buds have a charging case, IPX4 waterproof, and come with 3 sizes of in ear "gummies". It takes a certain amount of trust that these kinds of buds are not going to fall out... I'm not sure that I'm quite there yet to go running or exercise with them in. Overall they do the job, but clocking in at a reported 6 hours and me getting somewhere between 4-5 hours of battery life is pretty low. I would prefer they made them a little bigger and charged a little more and then gave them some extra juice. Sound quality is just okay. I'm not sure I would buy these again. Maybe at this price opt for some decent sounding wired headphones?

They paired easily with my phone. That is the one good thing. The magnets didn't help them stick in their spots in the case. The case did not come charged so I had to spend quite some time charging it. I'd check it and after one song or so I'd hear a message that i needed to charge them again. So I ended up leaving them to charge for quite some time. The case doesn't snap shut confidently. As I was studying in a cafe, I really needed the earbuds for noise minimalization. I never got to use them. I moved tables once because of the loud person near me. But when I was about to go home, I noticed my earbuds were no longer in the case. I supposed they just fell out when I was moving. I don't think anyone would just take two earbuds and leave the case if given the opportunity. I looked everywhere for the earbuds and never found them. I spent $30 on something I never got to use. They were slow charging (or weren't holding a charge) and they would not stay in their places in the case. The case didn't close well and now I don't have earbuds. I much prefer my JLab earbuds that were less expensive.

I got these as a backup pair of Bluetooth. I spend more time using JVC product than I do on the one that I paid somewhat more money on. Most of the time I can just pop the left one in my ear and rest assure; everything will be Alright. Good Performance.
