Not the best, but very good for inexpensive wirele
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, these earbuds are not bad for being a much less expensive alternative to the big names in this product line. The JVC True Wireless Earbuds are roughly similar in design to the ever-famous AirPods. They are store in a charging case and the stems are held in place magnetically for charging. Overall a familiar concept in earbuds. The case has 4 tiny dots that light up on the outside to indicate the battery level of the case (decreasing dots means less power). The earbuds themselves each have a tiny "dot" light to indicate various functionality (power, pairing, low battery). While in the case, the earbuds only charge - there is no bluetooth connectivity. However, once removed from the case, they go into pairing mode. They will show up in your bluetooth device menu as "JVC HA-A3T". There is also a voiceover that tells you that the earbuds are "powering on", "pairing", and "pairing successful". Interestingly, each earbud does this independently. After the initial setup, I took the left one out, hear these phrases, and then a "beep", and then I heard my music through the earbud. The process repeated after I did the same with the right one. Oddly, I had to activate them left first, then right. If I did the right one first, it never paired with my phone. The instructions are in numerous languages but overall are basically picture-based, so I cannot confirm if this is standard in the functionality or just something buggy with my pair (or user error). Sound quality on these is excellent for earbuds at this price range, although the bass could be a lot better. These are not noise cancelling, but I still felt that I could hear the music clearly without having to turn them up very loud. These earbuds have a finger-tap control on each one. Both can pause/play the music with a single tap. The left one can be tapped 2x to lower the volume, and 3x to raise it. The right can be tapped 2x to advance the track, and 3x to go back. The trouble I had is that your finger has to tap it directly on the spot (basically where the stem meets the earbud) to get them to properly read the tap. Very often I would end up pausing the music until I got my finger placed exactly where it needed to be. It's helpful to be able to pause easily, but the other functions were a little difficult. Perhaps they become easier as your muscles learn exactly where to go. The one complaint I have with these earbuds is the speaker grill. These earbuds have the rounded triangle design, which narrows to the speaker grill. The plastic around this grill is surprising sharp, and it actually hurts to put them in. I will say that I have small ears, and typically will use the smallest piece when presented with multiple cushions (such as my Beats earbuds, which have 3 sizes, and anything larger than the smallest one is uncomfortable to me). Some users with larger ears may not notice this, but even when I run my finger over this spot, I'm surprised by the sharpness of this plastic. The do not fit very far inside my ear because of it being so small, but I was able to secure them comfortable to move around. Not sure how well they would stay in if I were to be very active, but again, my ears are a bit smaller than average. Overall, a good choice for a set of earbuds that won't break the bank, or if you need a second set and don't want to spend a lot. If you have small ears, however, this may not be the best set for you.

JVC - Easy to use and inexpensive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These JVC True Wireless Earbuds were quite a nice surprise for me. The earbuds are held inside of a pocket-sized, compact charging case and come with a very short USB-A to USB-C charging cord. USB-C, nice touch JVC. Most I have seen come with Micro USB - especially at this price point! Mine came charged and I have listened to them for a few hours a day over about 3 days straight and they are still going strong! Of course, every time I place them back into their case, they charge up again. How convenient for me. JVC states when you give the case and buds a full charge, that you should have a total of 22 hours of charge available. The fit is different because they don't have interchangeable tips like other earbuds. You simply place them in your ears and give them a little twist. When I first got them, I thought I had to shove them in my ears to stay in and they were very uncomfortable. I knew that couldn't be right, so I gently placed them in my ears and gave them a little turn. They stayed in and were quite comfortable. How they stay, I don't know, they just do! The sound is good. No soaring highs or booming lows, but they sit in the middle. The sound comes through in a very pleasant way for me. You can easily control the buds with different light touches to the sensor on each bud. Pause, play, rewind, forward, volume up/down, answer/hang-up, etc. Just a small learning curve here to remember what does what. A light touch works great and doesn't make me have to press them into my ears to make a change. I forgot to mention, as you probably think, these are connected via bluetooth. All I had to do was take them out of their case and switch to the bluetooth setting on my phone. They automatically came up - and I connected with 1 click. It seriously could not have been easier. These automatically turn on when removed from the case and turn off when placed back in their case. Simple. A problem I did have with these was in answering calls. The music I was listening to did pause when the fall came in, but then I heard only a faint ringing sound to let me know there was a caller. 1 touch and it connected promptly to the caller but again, their voice was very faint. I had the volume up fairly high listening to music, so it wasn't a volume setting issue. At this price point, these are pretty nice earbuds. I docked 1 star for the faint sound on calls, but otherwise, these will be my go-to everyday earbuds from now on. I would definitely recommend these JVC True Wireless Earbuds.
