Earbuds are a dime a dozen nowadays and everyone always discuss the Airpods Pros, Sony 1000XM4, and Bose QC yet those are all multi-hundred dollar earbuds to which JVC has now thrown their hat into the ring at a much lower price point in an attempt to compete with these favorites to which I can say they have done a phenomenal job! The features of these buds are definitely comparable to those models that are three and four times the cost. Starting with the unboxing I was extremely impressed with the build quality of these headphones as they are definitely comparable to that matte feel of the Pixel Buds and they are also very inconspicuous as other wireless earbuds in the sub $100 category are traditionally large and bulky. The fit and feel of the earbuds was actually right on par with the Airpods in my opinion as I prefer the small q-tip like look as with flush mount earbuds it is difficult at times to remove them. I will say the case was a tad larger than that of the Airpods or Pixel Buds, but not by much and especially much better than some of the monstrosities out there that can`t even fit in your pants pocket. I also really liked that the charging utilized on the case was USB-C. After being impressed with the build quality I expected the actual performance of these earbuds to be where the cost cutting took place to get them at that $60 price point, but I was shocked with how well they performed. They obviously are not going to perform exactly like $250 earbuds, but my goodness they come pretty close for being a fourth the cost. It is tough to describe sound in words, but from a layman's perspective few would notice the subtle differences. All of the little features with these earbuds is what really set them apart though in that they have nearly all of those of much higher rated headphones from the touch controls to the active noise cancelling. Just the fact that JVC was able to get fairly effective noise cancellation in a pair of earbuds at this price point is astonishing. Another feature I have to mention is the touch & talk feature that allows you to touch the earbuds and automatically lower the volume of the music so that you can more easily hear someone you are talking to. Also the ability to only use one bud at a time was beneficial as there are times where I only want to use one bud and with other earbuds it requires it to be either the left or right depending on the Bluetooth connectivity. JVC has really packed these earbuds with everything imaginable you would ask for as far as functionality. Overall, I am just amazed at these earbuds from JVC as everything from the build quality, look, and feel to the performance is top notch. JVC has definitely stepped up their game with these earbuds as traditionally I have just written JVC off as the cheap headphone company with subpar products, but these earbuds definitely punch outside of their weight class. I can`t recommend these earbuds enough for those not wanting to spend a couple hundred dollars for earbuds.

I'm always looking for a good set of ear buds that I can use when I'm working around the house or traveling. Features that I look for are comfort, sound quality and battery duration. To start, these are nice looking ear buds that come with a number of different sized ear pieces to help you get just the right fit. I tried several before I found the ones that fit correctly and were comfortable. Once opened, charging was quite quick and sees to still be the case after hours of use. Once charged it seems that they do hold a charge for a respectable amount of time. I used them on a plan trip that was just over three hours and used them the entire time. A good starting point and we'll see how things go in the long run. For sound quality, these are not bad but not exceptional. For the price I think they are right in the ballpark. One feature that is exceptional is the noise cancelling function. Worked well on a plan with plenty of noise! Other nice features include the easy ability to adjust volume with simple taps. Same goes for fast forward and rewind. Overall a decent pair of earbuds.

The JVC Marshmallow Plus Low Latency Active Noise Cancelling Headphones did not need charging. They turned on as soon as I removed the charging protectors. I did not need to press anything to pair my phone, because JVC HA-A25T automatically appeared on my phone. Once I tapped it, I heard that pairing was successful. The three sound modes of normal, bass and clear work well, except the bass is not as deep as I prefer. Still it does give more bass than normal. The functionality of pressing the earbuds once, twice or three times to pause, increase volume, switch sound mode, or turn on noise cancelling works perfectly. The only difficulty I have had is getting the earbuds to stay in my ears. It is hard to find the right spot to lock the earbuds inside my ears for comfortable traveling. From time to time, the earbuds slip out and I must adjust them again. Other than that the JVC Marshmallow Plus Low Latency Active Noise Cancelling Headphones are a great pair of earbuds to walk around with or just sit back and relax.

JVC - Marshmallow+ True Wireless In-Ear Headphones – Black In the past, I’ve had less than pleasant experiences with in-the-ear headphones. The fittings have not always been snug enough to keep at least one of them from falling out when I walked on the beach or did routine things involving any kind of physical activity. It appeared that I was destined to use only over-the-ear headphones because they didn’t fall out of my ears. However, those earbuds still hurt my ears after wearing them for a while. So, when I saw the words “JVC and Marshmallow” together, I thought I’d give them a try, hoping that these would be the answer to my previous bad experiences with those other brands. My hope was that the “marshmallow” part would expand in my ears to make a good soft fit that would stay in my ears without hurting them. I wasn’t disappointed because they did, indeed, seem to fit better and stay put longer. I found the setup instructions totally confusing, since the picture instructions didn’t match what I was experiencing. First, the instructions tell you to charge the unit before using. They show a USB to 5V wall charging connection, but the wall charging connection wasn’t supplied. Strike one! Next, the picture showed three lights to indicate fully charged, but there were only two lights on the unit I received. Strike two! And when I eventually figured out that the next pictured instructions were meant to indicate setting up a connecting via Bluetooth (there was no mention of the word “Bluetooth”), the instructions didn’t match what was happening. The lights were supposed to be flashing, indicating the buds were ready to be paired via Bluetooth, but there were no instructions on how to get them to flash so they could be found and paired. Surprisingly, once I put the buds in my ears for the first time, they automatically went into pairing mode, and I was finally able to get them paired with my computer. But then when I tried to get them to pair with my phone, there didn’t seem to be any way to get them in pairing mode again, short of removing them from the computer paired list and starting over. That worked, and I was able to pair the set with my phone. One paired Bluetooth connection at a time makes sense because they automatically connect when in range and being in range of two paired devices at the same time would cause confusion. I kept them paired with my phone, since I almost always have that with me. Once you do get set up, the various commands are via one, two and three taps on the earbud touch sensors. I would much prefer controlling the earbuds via a phone app instead of taps, since the taps tend to push the buds into your ears and might cause discomfort. Or the taps might loosen the fit of the buds and cause them to come out of your ears. And finally, you need to remember what each press does. However, since many competitor’s buds do operate like this, you may be comfortable giving commands this way. It’s just not my preferred way to control things. These earbuds are probably best suited for phone calls and listening to music while sitting at your desk or relaxing in your easy chair because, once you persevere and do get them set up, they are very comfortable, the sound quality is very good, and they do stay put when you’re not active. However, based on my experience, I won’t be using them when I’m involved in any kind of physical activity, since they don’t seem to want to stay in my ears and I don’t want to risk losing one of them. Your mileage may vary.

The JVC Marshmallow Noise Cancelling Headphones are just okay for me. I found them to be slightly uncomfortable with the default ear tips that were installed already. There are several options to choose from so it may take a bit to get the ones that feel just right. I did change to the non-memory foam style and those were a better fit for my ears. The bass is okay but not great and the tones are decent without doing any equalizer adjustments. The noise cancelling is also just okay. I was a bit surprised it wasn’t better. With so many options on the market to choose from, you may find others at the same price point that do it a bit better. Setup was simple once I charged them for about two hours as they were dead out of the box which was a bit surprising. Maybe I’m simply spoiled by most products now having at least ½ battery life when opened. It paired to my phone quickly as well as my AppleTV and now show up right away in the list once I power them up. When using these for phone calls, the person on the other side said I came through clearly and without any garble or distortion. I would also say that hen listening, I had a similar experience and when outside, they did a good job hiding noises around me from the caller. The biggest plus about these is the battery life. I did get a solid 5 hours out of them and when in the case, they charged up to 100 again in about 90 minutes. The box advertises 30 hours in total and so far, I think they will certainly get very close. In summary, they’re not the best but certainly not the worst. I would recommend them at this price point as it probably comes down to personal preference in this range.

These JVC headphones left a lot to be desired. They are one of the worst fitting headphones I have tried, no matter how I position the ear buds in my ears or how far in I shove them. I also have tried every different ear but tip the headphones came with and even the best fitting option still falls out of my ears every couple minutes. When they are in my ears I can constantly feel them slowly easing their way out of my ears. It feels like the ear buds are very heavy and also stick pretty far out so they fall out easily. They do not lay flush with you ears like some headphones do. The noise cancelling feature was the most impressive function of these headphones. I used these while cutting the grass and I was impressed with how much engine noise was minimised by them. I was also not exactly impressed with the sound quality of these headphones, the sound of them is pretty flat and lacks a lot of base. Overall these headphones are just okay. I would not really recommend them unless maybe for kids or someone who does not care about audio quality.

If you’re on a tight budget, this would be a pretty good choice for an earbud. This has pretty good bass, and the levels are somewhat balanced. However, compared to the previous ones I’ve tried (Bose, Bang & Olufsen and the likes), there are a few more things to consider when getting this. The case is a bit bulkier than the others I’ve tried. Maybe it’s the shape or the material it’s made with, but it’s also more challenging to open. As far as the earbuds are concerned, I’m still getting used to how it’s shaped. I find myself fixing the them in place so it gets charged in its case. Also, in order to hear the sound properly, I had to switch out the rubber piece so it fits in my ear and so that the sound comes out properly. If I hadn’t done that, I would’ve thought the sound was bad. These may seem like there are more cons than pros on this review, but these buds really are a pretty good choice if you’re on a budget. These may not be any of those premium ear buds, but they do the trick.

I do not like these JVC Marshmallow Plus Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphone 'earbuds.' Nope. Not a fan. I'm well familiar with JVC, and their line of electronics and audio devices . I know the level of sound quality to expect, with the understanding of course, that different models (and types of devices) will produce differing levels of audio quality. These earbuds disappointed. There were a few good aspects, which I'll mention first. Pairing was easy. Battery life was nearly spot-on, as stated on the box. Plus, the size of the charging 'case' is small enough to easily tuck inside a pocket, purse, or backpack. But it was really the depth of sound that did stand out, specifically when listening to music. However, the sound, or rather, lack of good quality audio, while trying to hold a conversation, was sorely lacking, and was an undeniable downside. The person I was trying to talk to sounded far away, even with the volume all the way up (which is definitely not desirable). I'm also told that I sounded as though I was talking "in a tin can." Again, not a good thing. Noise-cancelling was iffy. I couldn't tell if it was working or not. I tried using both the 'default' more-on-the-medium side size memory foam ear pieces, but also gave the smaller ones a shot. I still felt as though the earbuds would fall out of my ears, even with adjusting them as the directions recommend. My experience was that the earbuds were not secure in my ears, and weren't at all comfortable to wear. Bottom line - I do not recommend these JVC Marshmallow Plus Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphone 'earbuds.'

The marshmallow thing is not great

Yes, sure the marshmallow tips are comfortable, but they really diminish the sound quality. When I first put these in and started listening, I though it was the weakest bass response I had heard in a set of earbuds in a long time. And that was with the "bass" mode enabled because I like bass. I did notice that they seemed to be sitting quite far out in my ears, even though the standard size (medium) tips that usually come preinstalled nearly always fit my ears perfectly. So I decided to swap the tips out for a different size to see if that improved the sound. The extra tips include three sizes of "normal" tips - the kind you find with just about every brand of earbuds with replaceable tips - and two sizes of the foam (marshmallow) tips. I tried the normal, medium sized ones first and they immediately sounded much better. Good even. But the whole gimmick is supposed to be the marshmallow tips, so I also tried the smaller size foam tips, and the sound quality got bad again. So you can go for extra comfort or better sound. I choose better sound. One other thing about the tips: I had similar foam tips on some earbuds I used a few years ago and made the mistake of wearing them during a workout. They absorbed sweat like a sponge, and it ruined them. I did not try that with these, but I would caution against getting them wet. And I would advise just wearing the regular tips because the sound quality is so much better. The noise canceling on these is pretty much non-existent. I toggled the noise canceling on and off, and the difference is barely detectable. So, as regular, non-noise canceling buds, these are fine, but then why are you paying for "marshmallow" noise-canceling buds?
