Positives: - Out of the box, almost fully charged; only took ~10 minutes to reach max charge - Nice, minimalist charging case - Fast pairing/solid connectivity - Helpful audible voice lets you know that the power is on & the buds are connected. I have some pricier buds that don’t do this. - Perfect fit out of the box; earpieces are snug & secure & feel soft, smooth & comfortable - 4 additional pairs of earpieces are included - No App required - Audio quality is very good in the high ranges; good trebles make for clear speech - Low Latency: Haven’t noticed any lag in videos; so, great for gaming, too - 30-hour battery life: I’ve been using them on & off for several days & haven’t needed to charge them Negatives: - Almost no bass, but at this price point, it’s not expected. I listen to a lot of podcasts & lectures which don’t require bass. I’d definitely choose different buds with fuller range & bass for listening to music. - Micro-USB charging port (I’d prefer a Type-C port) - Since it already verbally alerts to power & connectivity, it would be super-helpful if it also advised battery level. But I may be asking for too much at this price point.

Caution, USED, earwax included. It was obvious after opening the box and seeing the torn inner packaging and missing plastic tape on the charging contacts. Not to mention a mysterious debris on the ear cups. Going back and inspecting the box, you can see where they used a clear tape over the already cut tamper proof seal. Totally disgusting, went straight in the trash. Thirty bucks down the drain, lesson learned.

JVC - Marshmallow+ True Wireless In-Ear Headphones The Marshmallow+ True Wireless In-Ear Headphones is latest affordable ear buds from JVC. It appears to be a successor to the Marshmallow ( note the lack of the “+”) earbuds that I own as well. I did not care for the squarish design of the Marshmallow and the new “+” seems to have rectified that with an Apple like design. Make no mistake, these look a lot like Apple for a reason – the design is well balanced when placed in the ear and has a bit of a “boom” to pick up your voice for calls. Battery life is good at 5 hours plus another 25 in the recharge case. In review : Set up – Literally, seconds. I took them out of case and the ears buds went into pairing mode. I was up and running in less than 10 seconds. Fit – Ear buds can be finicky and the so is the case for Marshmallow+ . It does come with 5 ear tips and none of them were a great fit for me. It is not terrible, but I would have liked some type of gel ear tip to get a better seal. You will definitely pick up a lot of background sound if you do not get a tight fit. It is worth noting that I personally have this issue with most ear buds. Controls – There are no physical buttons, it is all touch controls. They are responsive and do what they were designed to but I can see this being an issue for some. The touch controls do inadvertently activate if you need to reseat the ear buds in your ears. You have to decide if you prefer the streamline design over a physical button more bulky design. For my needs, it is perfectly fine. Sound – This is where the JVC Marshmallow+ starts to falter a bit. As with most earbuds, bass is almost nonexistent. High notes are a bit harsh and not as dynamic as some more expensive headsets. The sound is not poor, it just underwhelming. For phone calls, the person I was speaking to did note that it picked up on a lot of background sound and was a bit hollow sounding. Use in a car is not recommended. In conclusion, is the JVC Marshmallow+ as good as Apple, Bose or top line Jlabs – no , not even close . But these are a $60 pair of headphones and that is a lot of value for what you get. Based on that factor alone, I can recommend them. If you are looking for a rich sounding ear bud that is good with calls and games, then you should pass.

JVC Marshmallow HA-A17T I have a set of older JVC HA-A10T ear buds that I really like. They fit well and have great well balanced sound. I was hoping these new models would take the positives from that model and add to them. I am sadly disappointed. CONS: Sound is mediocre. Sometimes the bass is there and sometimes they sound very tinny. They are definitely tuned for highs. The highs are clear and very prominent but I often miss the bass. It seems that for some reason these buds are highly dependent on not only using the correct ear cushion but also the position of the buds in your ear. This seems more so than other buds I have tried. Just a slight twist in my ear up or down will change the tonal qualities. And believe me I have changed the cushions 4 times trying to find the best ones which ironically are the ones that came installed out of the box. The touch controls on the bud themselves are annoying. Every time I put the buds in or try to adjust them, the touch controls will cause the music to pause or skip forward or backward a song. They are way too sensitive. I much prefer a tactile button over these touch controls. There is NO way to control volume from the buds that I can find in the instructions or on line. You can pause, answer a call, use the voice assistant, and skip forward or backward. But I can’t figure out how to change the volume. When you do change the volume on your device, the left ear changes first, then the right ear adjusts in about 3 -4 seconds. Weird! I received a call while trying them. The music paused, but unless you do a double tap on the bud it won’t answer. PROS: They pair easily to my device. The case is good and they fit and charge well in the case. CONCLUSION: They are OK for general listening if you are not frustrated with the touch controls sensitivity. I would recommend with reservations to my friends.

I've had an opportunity to review several sets of earbuds over the last couple years. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I know what sounds good, I know the features that I enjoy, etc. These JVC - Marshmallow+ True Wireless In-Ear Headphones seem to be "Average" & in a packed & competitive field, I'm not sure that's what JVC wants! Pros: they pair easily, they sound good, the case is nice & similar to many others. The $60 price point (at time of review) means I'm not freaking out if I lose them Cons: sketchy microphone (relatively common with earbuds across the board in my experience). My biggest issue was the fit/confidence of the fit. I'm generally a "medium" eartip user- it took me trying several tips- both silicone and the memory foam tips- to get good fit in each ear and I still wasn't satisfied that these were going to stay in. I was also disappointed in the memory foam tips- I expected them to seal better & block out ambient noise better. Summary: not bad, but I've tried many I prefer at similar price points.

This is a good product at a decent price-point for its value. It does its job. The wireless connection happens seamlessly. The sound quality is quite good with the bass not too overpowering. Could the treble be a little more inclusive? The pet peeve of no volume control is here as well. The build quality is alright with the matte finish though, honestly, the case and the headphones feel a bit cheap. The manual lists the controls and it is quite extensive. The surprising factor was the noise cancellation. It is of course not flawless but has quite a presence and I was pleasantly surprised by it as it was not expected. The phone performance with the microphone was quite decent as well. If you are into gaming the low latency mode should be a big help though I did not get the chance to try that feature. Plus did I mention the manual? That little piece of paper is a big plus for this set. There are just too many sets in the market that do not have enough instructions and helpful notes. While some of us are very adept in using new gadgets, there are many (like my parents) who would appreciate the written clues to help them out with the hidden features. I hope that other manufacturers follow JVC's example. This gets an overall 5 stars because of the features, the manual, and the price-point. Do not compare this to the high end Samsung, Apple, and Bose products and you should be just fine and happy.

I work online in the virtual world and spend time in zoom, webinars, presenations and workshops. I am always trying new audio equipment for audio, looking for the perfect fit. These JVC marshmallow true wireless earphones are an excellent choice for this purpose. I have small ears and cannot use many brands that have large hard ear insert parts. These marshmallows are soft and fit well with the small cones. I have tested the sound with meetings, movies, and music and they pass my test! NOTE: be sure to take the tape off of the contact points on the earphones so that they will charge!! The 'stick' that hangs down outside the ear canal is small but sturdy and does not get tangled in my long hair (huge bonus!). The charging case is small and convenient, with a separate charging cord which is usb plug in. When I took them out of the case, they were instantly available for pairing on my computer and phone. This is great for me since I occasionally need to work through the phone when the internet is down. I'm not sure how long the charge works, but I believe the 30 hour claim. I used them all day in a four hour drive, followed by 8 hours of work and a movie! This is the kind of fuss-free quality I expect from JVC.
