These JVC ANC true wireless earbuds pleasantly surprised me by turning out to be a simply great value for the level of performance they provided. Of course, there isn't much here you haven't seen before in other offerings, and there's nothing particularly inspired here either, but the whole package is ALMOST without flaw, and many of you may not even care about my misgivings owing to the truly bargain-basement price being asked here.
The case is pleasantly rounded and easily pocketable with a 3-segment LED charge gauge on the front and USB-C port at the back. It's a little "chunkier" than some other smaller, more svelte cases, but I suppose that also fits in with the playful sort of "gumy" vibe and styling cues. The cover is slightly translucent which is a little stylish/different I suppose, but it's a snap-shut cover rather than a more substantial-feeling magnetic closure. There is also a helpful key chain loop/lanyard strap attached to the case to it's easy to clip onto a bag, purse, duffel, etc...it's a nice design feature that actually makes it a little harder to lose than some other completely smooth and featureless charging cases.
The buds themselves sport a comma-shaped form factor that worked better in my ear than I expected them to--I am one of those who simply cannot wear Apple's buds because they are ALWAYS falling out. The JVC buds sat securely in my ear and the downward curved wings helped keep them securely in place. I did not notice any appreciable movement or loss of seal while using them during a jog and light workout. They are only IPX4 rated so they should be fine for regular gym use, but I wouldn't take them swimming or head into the shower with them. JVC helpfully included 4 different sets of eartips in the package: XS, S, M & L so you should probably be able to find a comfortable fit, but the pack-in USB-C cable is almost insultingly short...unless you're charging from a battery pack or a laptop USB port already sitting on a desk or tabletop, I'm guessing your charger/charging port are going to be WAY out of reach.
In terms of features and performance, there's actually a lot to like here. There is no companion app to adjust ANC level or create a customized EQ, but you do get to choose between normal operation, ANC, and hear-through, as well as three EQ settings--flat, clear, and bass. The 'Bass' setting had the most noticeable effect of the three, but honestly, these little buds cranked out a very engaging low end regardless of which setting I selected. Mids and highs did not sound strained or muffled at all, imaging was on the *slightly* wide side which was unexpected but welcome, and fully 3D-enabled signals like Amazon's Dolby Atmos tracks were rendered with aplomb as were its higher-def sound sources. You can even activate a low-latency mode which slightly improves BT delay for gaming or reduced A/V sync issues when watching videos.
Each bud can be used independently which effectively doubles the active battery life if you are in need of some LONG distance audio entertainment. Speaking of which, I loved the quick-charge feature that gives you a good hour's audio from just a 10-minute charge, even on a fully-depleted battery. Count on anywhere between 7-10 hours of playback depending on ANC/hear-through settings before you'll need to juice them up again in the case. They handled calls just fine though I wouldn't want to work all day long in a call center wearing them--call quality wasn't THAT great though those on the other end of my calls said they could hear me just fine. Finally, the small touch panels seemed to be dialed in just right as I didn't experience any mishits or extra presses when I was working the controls.
There were just a few niggles with these JVC buds that left me a little flat. First, the ANC is just...okay. Yes, it somewhat attenuated the din of my noisy office, but they really didn't do much to drown out the engine noise of my cross-country flight last week, despite the marketing materials claiming that low-frequency sounds like engine noise are what should be MOST effectively blocked by the ANC function. Playback is also not interrupted when removing the buds...not a deal-killer, but it would have been nice. Still...that price...gotta keep that low in mind!
But the biggest problems I had with these buds were the absurdly complex and unconventional tap/hold sequences that were required to operate them...a companion app that would allow function remapping would have gone a LONG way to improving the situation. There are 4 functions on the left bud: play/pause, volume down, and volume up (1, 2, and 3 taps respectively), and a 1-second hold to toggle the EQ mode. But the right bud has 5 functions to offer (or to be remembered): ANC mode toggle, track forward, and track back (1, 2, and 3 taps again), plus 4 taps to switch on/off the low-latency mode, and a 1-second hold for activating Touch & Talk. This last one especially baffled me as it simply lowers the playback volume to nearly a whisper, ostensibly so you can talk to someone else while...still listening to barely audible music? It seems like a simple play/pause toggle would be more effective (and less rude). It's probably just a matter of unlearning some habits I've picked up from using other earbuds, but having only one playback control on one bud (play/pause) while all the others are on the other bud just felt a little non-intuitive to me. I ended up using the playback controls on my phone and PC more often than trying to recall which of the tap/hold patterns were necessary to do what I wanted on the buds themselves--YMMV.
In the end, no, these buds do not produce sublime, ultra-detailed, audiophile-grade music that goes squirting down your ear canals to create audio nirvana...but I have heard MUCH worse from buds commanding much higher prices, and for what the JVCs DO get done (and it's actually quite a lot), they do it VERY well. Recommended!

I'm so glad I got these. I have tried and used several earbuds over time and they always have been far from perfect, I don't know if I have weird ear canals or something, but most of them have been not perfectly comfy for me. Not these ones, these are super comfy at least for me. No I can see why they call them "Gummy", they are certainly Gummy for my ears!!
They came in a compact box and inside they were inside a carrying/charging case, which to my surprise has also a lanyard lock so you can affix it to a bag or something like that if you want. The earbuds can be charged inside the carrying case (which also gets charged via USB), the case has some indicator led lights at front to indicate its battery charge level.
Pairing them with my phone was easy and got them working right away. They have ANC (noise cancellation) and also transparency/Ambient mode (lets you hear outside, like it someone talks to you, you don't have to take them off and it works well). They are also compatible with assistants like Google assistant or Siri. You can press them to answer calls, hangup, skip tracks etc. They also have EQ modes to try and find the best sound for yourself. Calls and music sounded clear and great. Battery life has been good, I have been using them for around 8 hours a day and have plenty of battery, if I need a top up I just put them back the case for a quick charge.
If you want super comfy earbuds and not break the bank, these are the ones for you!

Great earbuds for the price

The JVC Gumy Premium Earbuds are a great choice for low cost ANC earbuds that will do just about everything higher priced ANC earbuds can do, with a couple exceptions.
To start off, you get some quality earbuds and assortment of tip sizes, and a short charge cord.
The earbuds are IPX4 rated, so they can handle some light rain, but that's about it. You get up to 26 hours with noise canceling off, and up to 20 hours with noise canceling active in total. That's case and earbuds together. In testing, I would listen to 3 hour long podcast and still have over 70% battery using the ambient mode. You get touch controls, which are a little tricky to learn at first, because they are backwards to most other brands on the market.
The earbuds sound decent, but it would be nice if you could adjust the sound with and supporting app, but sadly this isn't the case. Same goes for the touch controls. I like to set mine up a certain way so that whatever set of earbuds I use, they all operate the same.
You get three modes of sounds, noise canceling, ambient sound, and off. The noise canceling is not the greatest, and if there is any wind, having these earbuds set to off is the way to go.
The microphone is good enough to have conversations on the phone, but if it's noisy, I've been told it's hard to hear me at times during the call.
The touch controls work great, but there are times when I needed to adjust the earbud in my ear and I inadvertently paused what I was listening to or changed the sound mode I was in.
Overall, these are great earbuds for the price, but I wish you had the ability to customize the touch controls and an EQ through a supporting app.

I had a very good set of wired, in-ear headset I wanted to replaced so I thought I would try this JVC true wireless set. What these have going for is that they are small and non-intrusive with very good noise canceling feature. They are very light, fit well and comfortable due to the silicon sleeves which come in three sizes. This has good sound but not as outstanding as more expensive sets available.
The case is small and the buds sit nicely though not very secure on it. It has three indicator lights when it is charging to indicate the progress of charge. The USB-C charging cable is surprisingly short and does not come with wireless charging feature. As for an app either Android or iOS i could not find one to operate the headset though all the feature are operated from touching the headset. Paring was very easy and the buds had a full charge when came from factory. There is a tiny limited instruction manual with all that is needed to pair the set and to operate it. All in all, it is a nice small set with nothing impressive to mention but good enough to get as a budget set.

For a set of budget earbuds with active noise cancellation, these are pretty good.I own many many wireless earbuds from the inexpensive to the high end ones and everything in between. What can I say? These earbuds lack a lot of the features that high end ones have but at this price point, I can forgive that. Let's start with what I do like. The case is lightweight and holds a good charge for it's size. The earbuds are light and comfortable in the ear canal. Doesn't come loose even while running. The sounds are good, mid and bass are adequate. Call quality was on par with some of my earbuds that cost twice as much. Touch button worked every time, no miss touches. Noise cancellation is good, but not great. I can't expect much for this cost. In my office, it really did reduce a lot of the background chatter, but I could still hear them. Now what I didn't like, again can't really be mad at this because it's so inexpensive. The case felt cheap. There is no app so no way to adjust any settings. Controls for volume is not intuitive, I would always turn to just using the phone volume.

The JVC Gumy Premium HA-A23T earbuds aim to deliver a comfortable and convenient wireless audio experience, and for the most part, they succeed. My initial impression, however, was a bit rocky, particularly regarding sound quality.
Upon first putting them in, I was genuinely concerned. The audio seemed thin and lacking in depth. But, after a quick adjustment—swapping to the largest earbud tips and ensuring they were seated more deeply in my ear canals—the transformation was remarkable. The sound quality greatly improved, revealing a much fuller and more balanced audio profile. This highlights a crucial point with these earbuds: ear tip selection and proper fit are absolutely essential for optimal performance. If you're experiencing subpar sound, experiment with the included tips and adjust their position until you get a good seal.
Once the fit was dialed in, the comfort level proved to be quite good. Even during extended listening sessions, they felt light and non-intrusive. Their lightweight design is a definite plus, making them easy to forget you're even wearing them. This also contributes to how well they stay in place, which is a significant factor for anyone on the go or using them during light activity. I do have to push then in a little deeper on occasion to keep a good seal, but this is not uncommon for my ears.
Noise canceling is pretty good, effectively muting a good portion of ambient sound, which is a pleasant surprise at this price point. My only minor gripe is that I do wish they got a little louder. For some tracks or in very noisy environments, an extra notch or two of volume would be appreciated.
The battery life is good as well. If put in my ears in the morning I can get to just after dinner before they indicate they are low on charge.
I do like voice feedback when making a touch on either earbud indicating.
There is no app for the phone, so the touch controls are not changeable. I will attach a picture of the controls.
Overall, for the cost of these, they provide a great value for a mid-grade earbud. They are great for a daily driver, handling calls and casual listening with ease. However, if you are an audiophile with a discerning ear for nuanced soundscapes, then these probably aren't a great option. They excel at practicality and comfort, making them a strong contender for everyday use without breaking the bank.

I have been using these headphones for sometime now and have discovered several not so good items, but some good features as well. It boils down to 3 categories; sound, fit and controls.
Firstly, the sound and fit are pretty good. These headphones come with several different inner-ear plugs to use to assure they fit well against your inner ear. I am confident that these will fit the vast majority of users based on swapping out these plugs to fit. The sound that pumps out of these headphones are good too, the base is deep and rich while the the high tones are crisp as well. No complaints on these items.
On the other hand, the controls are too finnicky. There are several different tap sequences that need to be done to navigate the functions of these headphones. Example, tap once if you want to skip song, tap twice if you want to switch to noise cancelling, tap 3 times, etc. This paired with the sensitivity of these headphones is beyond annoying. There are 6 different functions to manage when the headphones are extra responsive equating to some major frustration.
All in all, if you are looking for some jogging or law mowing headphones then these would work. I would not recommend these to be used for conference calls or anything needing a higher level of attention.

This light set of earbuds performs really well.
Pros
1) Noise cancelling does in fact work well and is competitive
2) Watching Youtube/Social media is great, clear speech out of the box
3) Turns on and connects very quickly to my device, remembers last device
Cons
1) Smaller sound stage, does not sound very "full"
2) The noise cancelling works for basic background noise (low rumblings like that of a motor engine/airplane), but does not perform quite as well when other types of noise cancelling (higher pitched city noise, voice/diaglogue)
3) Software did not perform correctly on the early model I have on my Samsung tablet, so was not able to trial the software functions.
4) Challenging/not intuitive to reconnect to a different device.
Other than having difficulty with the software, the earbuds themselves work surprisingly well. I was very happy when I pulled them after my daughter took away my normal earbuds, these little guys still have some nice noise cancelling. It did a pretty good job knocking out the airplane noise and I was still able to enjoy some videos. I had to take away a star because my unit did not connect to the software even though I was connected to the device, and it was also not very intuitive to connect / reconnect a second device. Didn't come with instructions and the website from the QR code on the box did not update so I didn't have alot of instructions, but I did get an early model so I'm sure this will be fixed up later.

This is my 17th set of wireless BT earbuds and first from JVC. Why, because they keep getting better, and lesser known makers have made improvements, this is JVC's first with ANC and Ambient sound. First I was surprised that JVC does not have any sort of app for these earbuds. Which means that their firmware can't be updated. Longevity continues to improve, these gumy's 26h wo/Noise Cancelling 21h with. (8h+18h from charging case) and a 10m rapid charge will give you an additional 1 hours listening time. I fully charged mine when I got them, then paired them with my iPhone 15 Pro, which was trouble free. I then ran them through Tara Labs Noise burn in tones for 6h 20m (to verify the battery claims, and to break them in), where the left earbud was exhausted; pretty close to the 7 hour quoted battery life (w/NC). The Gumy's use BT 5.4 which should offer better sound quality and lower latency. As soon as I put them on my wife asked me a question from across the room, I found that tapping the right earbud cycles them from: off, N/C, Ambient. After finding 'ambient' she asked me the question again; I still could not hear her. I tried Ambient listening to a baseball broadcast. I could not make it out. I'd call Ambient mode "missing in action". I went outside where I knew my AC was running. With ANC on I could still clearly hear the hum of the AC. I cycled through off, NC and Ambient. Little difference between the modes (boo).
Let's get to the important part, how do they sound/fit. After testing the larger and standard silicon ear inserts I found the standard silicon cushion felt the best (they are all round and come with 4 sizes). The Gummy earbuds don not have ear-detection so the music continues to play when you take them out (boo). BTW: The case does not support wireless charging and they do not come with an AC charger; only a short USB A to USB C charging cable.
Now onto some Beachboys, a Summer in Paradise, in remembrance if Brian Wilson, who just passed. 'Hot fun in the Summertime' had nice separation and the harmony sounded very nice, but the bass was thin and the highs not as crisp as I would have liked, but overall listenable. 'Surfin' being more rock sounds a bit better on the high end but deep bass was largely missing. Turned up all the way, they are pretty loud, but not overwhelming. You can change the sound mode from flat, bass or clear with a long tap. I can't say that any made that much difference. I think I prefered clear as the voices were a bit more forward. Clear helped the vocals in Island Fever. The strong drums on 'Still Surfin', just seemed to cut off where I wanted them to kick. 'Under the Boardwalk' had the most even sound, the Gumy's found their sweet spot. But their weakness emerged in the title song Summer in Paradise. A much more complex song, more bass, more guitars and horns. The horns just didn't have the squeal I desired (boo).
Then I listened to Boston's first album; 'More than a Feeling' was just so, so with missing high's and no low bass, on 'Foreplay/Long Time' the fade out fade in separation was excellent, during the subtle build I struggled to hear the details I know are there. The mid-bass and bass was not precise. In general the bass was just missing. And without an app with some sort of EQ, it was not going to get much better. I'm very accustomed to using the included software custom EQ. So I've accepted the highs and lows that lacked "authority". While on this point I compared the ANC and Ambient setting. Very little difference (boo). I did take a phone call at this point, and the quality I heard was clear and the person I was talking to thought it was pretty good, but not great; she could still hear ambient background noise.
All told these are just ok earbuds, for the price not bad. But compared to earbuds costing many times more you can find better sound spending more. They don't get as loud as I would have liked, and they are fairly comfortable. As I said, the bass is weak. A lot of details are just missing. The ANC and Ambient mode can certainly be improved. I wish they had an app with an EQ and the ability to change how taps on the earbuds are interpreted. I do wish it was easier to read the "R" and "L" on the earbuds (maybe white printing?); same on the case. The Gumy's are a good value earbud, just don't expect them to compete with those costing much more.

I find myself using all sorts of earbuds, all the time. With the love I had for the JVC cuffs, I figured I’d try these Gumy buds.
Here are a few points for a TL;DR with the review below.
Good:
Case
Battery Life
Fit
Phone call quality
Bad:
ANC
No App
Meh:
No wireless charging
Right off the bat, a great case. Not as compact as the iPods 4 with ANC, but a very nice case. When opening the case to remove or put the earbuds back in, they are angled in a good position that allows you to pick up and insert, or drop in to charge without much thinking. I only mention this because I’ve run into earbuds lately that are upside down in the case, or angled differently than you’d use them at. When charging, similar to the Cuff buds, there’s a blinking charging light.
As soon as they were paired to my phone, I launched the JVC Headphones App - but they never showed up. I looked on the box and the included paperwork for a QR code, or something that got me to where I could update or see what options were available to change. Nope, nothing.
So, I went back to the paperwork, which was the only way I could find out what the different presses did. At that point, I felt tethered to the paper and that wasn’t good. I can’t say I recall all of the presses on the 10 or so headphones and earbuds that I use are, but I do use their respective apps to remind me.
From a comfort perspective, these are very comfortable. I was able to use them on multi hour listening sessions without fatigue or irritation. In addition to being comfortable, their phone call quality is very good! I have used many headphones that boast about their mic and have always been disappointed. In this case, I was a skeptic but in both talking on and being on the other end of the call where these were being used, I was highly impressed!
I do like to use ANC for music, never for just noise cancelling. In this case, I didn’t find the “noise cancelling” to be good at all. Is the difference - that these are not tagged as ANC, but just “noise cancelling?” If so, it’s odd; the specifications page says (active) near the noise cancelling - so I don’t know.
Regardless, the noise cancellation isn’t strong and seems to muffle the sound a bit but I could still hear things, regardless of noise cancellation mode.
Lastly, the battery life was pretty stellar and the case tops them off for 1-2 more listening sessions.
Do I recommend them? For basic music and phone calls, sure! For the noise cancellation? Nah. Overall, they’re a thumbs up.

Ok as a back up pair of ear buds

Sound is just ok for music and a little light/tinny for my taste. There’s 3 sound modes - Flat, Bass, and Clear. I keep it in bass, but would prefer more bass. Same for movies - I’d like a much “bigger sound”.
3 noise canceling modes - Noise canceling (better for plane), Ambient (better for running to hear around you), and Off. I used on a 2 hour plane ride and it was just ok as well for noise canceling. I kept finding myself pushing the ear buds into my ears deeper to get a better noise canceling effect, but they still didn’t block everything out. Plane announcements, etc. I could still hear.
NOTE: No multipoint. You have to manually disconnect from say your phone and then manually connect to a tablet and vice versa. I travel a lot and often switch from music on my phone to movie on my tablet and it’s an extra 2 steps every time you want to go from one to the other.
Controls take some getting used to and were opposite what most other buds I’ve used before, but that's just a learning curve. Note that there is no app to guide you how to use or to change features or settings. There’s just a paper manual and an online click through manual on the web (which you have to be on the internet to click through - don't try to figure these out while on a plane with no internet.)
All in all they are light, comfortable, and have a long battery life. Decent small package and case that can recharge them. Case charging is USB - C. They also have a nice little hanging tag on the case so you can clip it inside a backpack or laptop case.
Relatively inexpensive back up pair of ear buds for gym, running, etc. These won’t be my primary ear buds though.

Arriving in modest packaging, inside you will get the classic "clam shell" earbuds and a very short USB-A to USB-C cable for charging. As is the norm now, there is no power adapter.
I own several pairs of ear buds and these look and feel like the lightest of the bunch. The earbuds themselves are designed different than the other pairs of I've used. The other ones tend to be front heavy with the part that goes in your ear while these are lighter and thinner. Think the letter "T" turned to the side for insertion. I've never encountered a pair of earbuds that fit quite like these but I actually prefer this style of fitment versus the other type as it seems to rely more on the length of insertion into your ear for placement rather than a seal/snug fit to hold it in place.
The aesthetics are decent but they do not feel like "high quality" ear buds.
As for actual usage, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed.
A good set of earbuds should be able to transfer/convey bass (assuming they have it) with a light fit. I found these had very low bass and the only way to extract any of it was to manually mash the earbuds with your hands against your ears and even then the bass was weak.
You have three settings of noise cancelling, ambient and off (cancel). The difference was miniscule between all three settings. The noise cancelling was some of the worst I've ever encountered in a set of earbuds priced this high which is $50USD at the time of this review.
Lastly, the music quality was below average at best and with anything that required decent mids and bass, it was flat out poor.
I found I had to turn my volume on my iPhone up to almost 80% to make these loud enough to be anything meaningful.
In the end, one area they are "ok" is for podcasts and maybe audiobooks and that's about it. During my usage time with them working out outside and at the gym, I relegated them to podcasts because anything meaningful in terms of music reproduction was poor.
I have a few pairs of generic earbuds that are 40% cheaper than these JVCs and sound much better with better noise cancellation. If these were half the price or lower, I could justify them but at their current price I simply can not.
I can not recommend these ear buds at this price point.

Big sound from an affordable pair of earbuds

Looking for an affordable pair of in-ear headphones in a field that is very crowded with so many options. I selected the JVC HA-A23T or Gummy Premium noise cancelling headphones.
Fit- The Gummy Premiums have the usual soft feel buds that come in several sizes to fit your ear. The fit is comfortable and snug to help keep out unwanted noise and optimize the sound.
Sound quality-
Music, the Gummy Premiums come with three different sound modes, Flat, Bass and Clear. I found the sound to be best with either Flat or Bass mode. The Flat provides a smooth clear satisfying sound with both music from all types, Rock, Country and pop. I was so pleased with the fullness of the bass when the Bass mode was enabled, though it is not required because the Flat is just so good. I find it hard to beat the sound of these headphones at this price point.
Phone calls have a nice tone and voices sounded full and clear.
Features –
Music features. These are fairly basic headphones. Each earpiece has a single button. The left one controls the play / pause, volume up and down, Voice assistant and sound mode by pushing the button one, two, three or four times. The right one controls Noise cancellation / Ambient sound, skip forward and skip back, Low Latency mode and Touch and Talk.
Phone call features. The control for phone calls are the same for both earpieces. The controls are Mute, volume up and down, call switching and mute/ hang up.
The Gummy’s have a small hard-shell case for housing the headphones and charging them when not in use. The case offers excellent protection for the headphones. As for the battery life, these seem to discharge at such a slow rate that they last longer then you would think.
There is no phone app to fine tune the Gummy’s, but that doesn't seem to hurt them for the price.
I can’t say enough how impressed I am with the Gummy Premium headphones. The sound when listening to music is very pleasing and surprisingly full.

The sound is decent for the bargain price. Noise cancellation feature was not used much but was also good. Reason for the return was the poor fit in my daughter's ears since I purchased it primarily for her. She tried all the cushion sizes that came with it without success, This probably has nothing to do with the actual product, so I still recommend trying it out. In my opinion, a good ear bud should not cost more than 50 dollars. Buy these instead of the 200-300 dollars "upscale" brand and use the left-over money for other purchases or save it for a rainy day. Ha Ha.

Solid budget headphone set with better-than-average sound quality. Extremely comfortable fit and easy to pair. Touch controls are more annoying than useful and the mic could be crisper.

This purchase was rather surprising. I didnt expect the sound quality I received. The price was reasonable, the wuality is a beat buy. Enough said.
