He needed ones that had the option to go over his ears since he couldn't keep other headphones in his ears. While they were open box and I think "defective" as the wires to the ear pieces are uneven, he has been able to use them successfully.

However, I didn't know the left side had a short wire that is attached to the right side. So I spend much of my time tugging at the shorter side. I will not buy this model next time. They work fine but the wire lengths are bothersome.
