Greatly slowed downloads and would not let outlook load

told by my IT guy at geek Squad/Best Buy not to use it.

i ask for a disc. you sold me a box with nothing in it.

I was given 1 year Kaspersky and now it's 6 months

Bad product and waste of time and no guarantee at all

best buy installed it on my puter and I hate it...

took to long to download, was not inpress with it.

Don't like it... Slows down my computer too much..

I bought a refurbished computer with a 2 TB HD just to have Windows 7 to replace my 10-year old workhorse PC with only 136 GB HD and a Windows Vista OS. This software came with it on a trial basis. Once finally hooked up to the internet, I installed it right away. Now I see why Geek Squad kept bugging me by e-mail on the old PC to do so! I had numerous old MS Works spreadsheet files that my daily life depends upon. So my first order of business was to look for a spreadsheet program that could read and edit those old files. I found one that was "free" and proceeded to download it. Guess what? It was nothing but malware and Kaspersky stopped it before it could even get to my hard drive. How does it do this? It sets up it's own internet connection in addition to your main one and catches anything bad before it ruins your life. It even lets you know that your keystrokes are not being stolen. No other protection software does that. As for slowing down my new 2.93 GHz desktop PC, I barely notice anything, so this protection is worth having. I will gladly pay for a subscription when my trial runs out.

Not the best security suite out there, but technical support is literally ZERO!! (i.e. NON-EXISTENT!!!) Why? I just contacted Kaspersky support for the first time, to report an issue with the IS 2017 rescue/boot disk. It gives errors at bootup of the system from the disk (DVD disk in my case), and will not run it graphics mode. It says to run in text mode. You know what their answer was? Use text mode!!! And I could not find any commands to use for text mode. I just found them now actually, after writing this. But, when I told support that I can't find these text mode commands, they simply replied to call them LONG DISTANCE, to be guided through how to use the rescue disk! They could have just sent me the URL link to the help page on their site which I had overlooked, instead of asking for a paid support call! And after I switched to a competitor's product, one which I had used in the past, I realized that not only is my internet surfing much faster, the technical support and customer service of the competitor is second to none! I work in tech support and my team goes out of its way to make sure the end-user is happy. Kaspersky has BAD support and ANY PRODUCT WHICH HAS BAD SUPPORT, NO MATTER HOW GOOD IT IS, IS NOT WORTH BUYING!!! (note: I purchased KIS as a direct download from their website with a discount, not from BestBuy.)

I have had a version of this since October 2016 when it came with a new computer purchase. Recently, I turned on my computer and a new feature came up. It is a VPN called "Secure Connection" that is packaged with the software which must have come in an update. It automatically installs in the "on" position and gives you a limit of 200 MB's a day "Secure Connection (VPN)" which is not much. If you reach 200 MB's a day, a pop-up comes up that tells you that you can remove the restriction for $4.99/ month or a yearly amount. If you have reached that limit you cannot turn it off until the number of hours it has counted for that new day to start again, and it tells you you have, as an example lets say, 8 hours, until you can start your 200 MB's again. The program may interfere with your internet access until you can turn it off, and appears to hold you hostage so that you must buy (or it wants you to buy) the additional higher level subscription. Do not fall for this! Wait until it has expired and change the settings to turn it off. If you have a router protected with a password or you are not otherwise in an open internet settling and you are protected by a password, you should have a good level of protection so I have been told by Geek Squad personnel.

Glad the Best Buy employee recommended the security package. I was always under the assumption that MAC's couldn't be hacked!

I bought this yesterday, 11/26/2016, when I installed it, it only showed 6 months of license not one year. I called GeekSquad and they said it is only for 6 months. Yet, if you look at the details of this product, where does it say it is only a 6 month license? BestBuy has to make that clear. I think it is a misrepresentation not to make it clear that it is only for 6 months since most licenses are for at least one year.

Would loved to be able to tell you how great this product is but I can't. I bought it last year with MS Office as a bundle., but because I already had Virus protection, I refrained from installing Kasperskys until today. Well guess what? Apparently, the licensing starts when you purchase the software, not when you install it. I spent 30 minutes on the phone to be told I would have to repurchase the licensing to "continue' use the virus protection that I just installed today. I will be buying Virus Protection from a competitor today.

It was a free item. Haven't done anything with it yet.
