Speakers lasted about 8 months before one of the pair stopped working. Audio was great while it lasted. Reached out to KEF for assistance and so far the customer service h as been terrible.

I saw a YouTube video review on the KEF Q1 Meta bookshelf speakers by "Tharbamar" who is a very well-respected Asian man that does professional reviews on audio equipment. Tharbamar always gives his true honest opinion, good or bad, on the hi-fi products he reviews so I, along with many of his viewers, trust his opinion. He did a review on the KEF Q1 Meta and praised the sound quality of this speaker. He highly rates these speakers to be among the very best he's heard from a price performance standpoint and an improvement over the KEF Q150 speaker it replaces. Also, Tharbamar stated the Q1 Meta is his favorite of all the new KEF Meta speaker line. Watch Tharbamar's review on YouTube for all details. I went to a Best Buy Magnolia store and auditioned the Q1 Meta's and I was so impressed by the detail retrieval and wide-open soundstage that these small bookshelf speakers convey that I purchased a pair on the spot. The Q1 Meta's are currently on sale at Best Buy for $399 which is a $200 savings off the regular $599 price making this a bargain in my opinion!

Q150s paired with a subwoofer souund great

Ever since I heard the Altec 604 way back in the '70s, I knew coaxial speakers had incredible imaging. I have a pair of 604s even now. The KEFs produce even better imaging in that you can be well off-axis and still experience the well-defined sound stage. That you need ten times the power to drive the KEFs to comparable levels is not a problem given the available power from today's amps. The perceived frequency response of the Q150 is very smooth. The mids sound slightly veiled to me, but I have been listening to horn speakers. The KEFs are probably more accurate. There is no "listener fatigue" that I experience with many speakers. I can listen to the KEFs for hours and they still sound great. I can't comment on how low the Q150s reach as I'm only using them with a subwoofer. In this configuration they are probably a better choice than the next level up Q350. The smaller diameter woofer in the Q150 should yield better dispersion and smoother transition to the tweeter. If I were using them without a subwoofer, I would go for a larger model. As others have noted, I would not have been as eager to get the Q150s had they not been on sale at half-price.

I liked these speakers so much I bought a 2nd pair for my man cave and replaced a more expensive set up. Audio is completely subjective to the individual, but in my industry experience which spans 20 plus years in technology sales I have never listened to any speaker any where close to this price point that sound this good.I have a Yamaha pre amp being used in pure direct mode with only digital sources and a very powerful separate amp. I have the speakers running into a definitive sub and all bass below 75hz being handled by sub. Sounds fantastic at all listening levels but amazing at that comfortable listening level. So smooth and balanced. If I could make love to these speakers I would. Keff has knocked this way out of the park. To get the full capabilities of these speakers I highly suggest a good sub that has speaker level inputs and outputs and a good integrated amp with at least a true 100 watt into 8 ohm power output. Half of modern audio is proper equipment matching and some knowledge of music reproduction and proper sub integration but with these properly hooked up with the right source equipment these speakers can take you to true high end performance and in my sincere opinion crush many more expensive options.

Love these and can't beat them for the sale price. Using as TV speakers and occasional music and they are perfect. Bass is more than enough for my small condo with jazz, classical and some rock. I also love the no-grill look - very modern and cool. I put them on 24" speaker stands and they are the perfect height for TV on the couch.
