    Not Keurig's Best Model

I've been a steadfast Keurig user for many years now, and have purchased several different models of their brewers. Love the convenience, and the varied selection of K-Cups currently available out in the marketplace has grown considerably since I switched from using my conventional coffee maker to being a Keurig fangirl. One of the main things I love about Keurig brewers, is that they're not just a coffee maker. You can buy K-Cups of many well-known brand name coffees, even compostable varieties (all traditional K-Cups are recyclable). There are K-Cups for herbal tea, iced tea, hot cocoa, hot apple cider, and believe it or not - soup! Or ... if you're just wanting to heat up some plain hot water for tea bags or instant oatmeal in the morning, you can do that too - just don't insert a K-Cup in the chamber and select the size cup of hot water you want. Remember to always follow the instructions with regards to appropriate cups/mugs to use when making iced coffees or teas. It's also a good idea to do a 6-cup hot water rinse cycle after brewing your coffee/tea/etc. before making that plain hot water, so as to cleanse out any residual taste from your previous brew. Now onto the specifics of this Keurig K-Select Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker. Firstly, the 'Pros.' This is the quietest Keurig brewer I've owned, both with heating up the water, and the brewing process itself. Which says, to me, that Keurig has been working on continuing to make improvements in their design. Setup was easy; just follow the simple instructions. Included in the box, was a reservoir filter, which is a nice addition. I won't be using mine, as I only use spring or already filtered water in my Keurig, but if you prefer to use tap water, this accessory is a must. The clear water reservoir also has a helpful 'max fill line', and the brewer itself will let you know when to descale (clean) the unit or when to add more water via indicator lights up top where the brew cup sizes are located. A handy feature all Keurig's boast, is a 2-hour shut off timer. On this model, the included instructions explain how to disable this if you prefer. I'd wager this model's big selling point is meant to be the Strong Brew feature. You can definitely taste the difference. While not a fan of the dark roasts, I tried one to make a 10-ounce 'strong brew' cup of coffee, and was pleasantly surprised. The flavor was full-bodied, with no bitterness or burnt aftertaste. It sorta reminded me of an alternative expresso, which I guess is the idea. For those who love more rich, dark blends or a jolt of strong coffee intensity, this feature is for you. The cord is heavy duty, much more than seems necessary for this particular coffee maker. In fact, there seems to be more 'quality' in the power cord than in the entire unit itself. Which brings me to the 'Cons.' The entire thing is plastic?! Not even the pretty 'gun metal finish' colored handle is made of metal. What's missing? Several of the mid-high range model Keurig brewers come with a "My K-Cup Accessory" included. This model does not. The 'My K-Cup' reusable filter enables you to fill and brew your own personal K-Cup using your favorite brands of coffee, and also, cuts down on K-Cup waste. This isn't a deal-breaker, by any means, as these are easy enough to find and buy at local stores which stock Keurig brewers, K-Cups, and accessories. Still would have been a nice perk to include, especially considering the price of the brewer. This particular model did feel more like a "lower range" Keurig. The quality just wasn't there. While I hesitate to say the plastic chassis felt cheap, this model Keurig most definitely IS NOT worth the suggested retail cost. Hopefully, the water reservoir will stand the test of time. Other than underneath where leaking customarily occurs on any coffee maker, standard or Keurig, the seams along the edges of the clear plastic reservoir just appear lacking. So, we shall see ... The lid to the water reservoir also doesn't snap down or lock in place, which made it feel flimsy. Overall, I think this K-Select model is greatly overpriced, but I can wholeheartedly recommend the Keurig brand of coffee brewers to anyone who's not yet given them a try. There are better Keurig models out there for a comparable or lower price. I would recommend foregoing this model, and trying one of those.

I bought this model because it looks like the one I've had for about 10 years and I've been pleased with it. I decided to get a newer model because my old one was making noises despite being cleaned and descaled, and I didn't want to be caught without coffee! I definitely wanted one that accepted generic as well as Keurig cups. I like that there are 4 different cup levels and a button for stronger coffee if desired. The water reservoir is not as large as my older model, but it is adequate, and larger than the model K-Supreme Smart Coffee Maker that my son has. I'm pleased with this new Keurig, but do have some concerns about the cost of upkeep on the filtration system. So far, so good, and the coffee it great!

Don't know how I'd survive without a Keurig! Bought this one for our office and clients love having a fresh cup of coffee while doing business with us. I use filtered water to prevent excessive build up from hard water.

Great coffee maker!! I had one that I purchased many years ago and it just recently went out. Without a doubt I purchased this exact same one again. Easy to use, easy to clean! I simply love it! Great cup of coffee every time and I would highly recommend it.

Why did I get this? My first Keurig still works great with only two cup sizes, and well over 12 years old, It will find a new home at the upcoming garage sale. I wanted to upgrade and I did lots of looking at the different models, and settled on this one. Not fancy like some, but does the same thing without whistles and bells which I don't need, and also in red to complement my kitchen. Has a strong setting which causes the water to go through more slowly, and as for temperature it is hot enough, unless you are the person who likes it HOT but waits for coffee to cool down for drinking. If you try to gulp the temp in this one your mouth will not be happy! I am happy I got this to upgrade my tired and true first maker. Hope this helps you.

Bought this Keurig to replace an aging unit that required “coddling” frequently. This new one is significantly lighter, and therefore, easily moved when necessary, as for cleaning countertop. It features include four brew sizes as well as a “Strong” button, the latter being my favorite. It’s also much quieter and quicker, just what is needed for that first cup in the early morning. Plus, the sale price was great!

This shade of red is very nice and the machine operates very quickly and quietly. Nice if you want to make a coffee without someone being awakened by what sounds like white water rafting in your kitchen. The machine does feel a little light but it seems to work really well.

We've owned these units in the past, I'm very familiar with their functions. This one is replacing an older physically bigger unit but has the same function as the older one it's replacing. I like the design, the water barrel holds enough for two large 20oz drinks. Simple buttons, comes with six samples, one scale remover pack for those with hard water.

I'm very happy with this purchase - it's easy to use, lightweight and offers several coffee/tea sizes. Of course, it all depends on the coffee or tea you like - can make it strong or weak, large or small.

I purchased my Keurig about 3 months ago and my mornings couldn't got any easier. I set the the turn for 5:15 am and by 5:20 I'm almost halfway through my first cup of Jo and ready to greet the day. On top of being able to set a turn on time it's super easy to use no clean up mess and it looks realy sleek in my kitchen I got mine in Teal and its super cute. It's by far the best coffee maker iv ever bought I can enjoy coffee, green tea and make the kiddos hot chocolate. There is pretty much a kcup for anything and everyone. I would highly recommend this product to everyone I know!!

This is a great machine. It's quieter than the older model I own & has some new features. It has a strong brew button which actually does make your coffee taste even stronger. It also has a larger brew size, 12oz. For some reason it is harder for me to see when I need to fill it up with water than my old one. Other than that, which truly isn't a big deal since it has a light that tells you when it needs water I'm impressed with this machine,

We were looking at fancier Keurigs, but this simple version does the trick. Easy maintenance and cleaning, works every time. And for a family that goes through at least 2-3 cups of coffee per day, it's still going strong.

This model replaced my old Keurig B60 Special Edition that I've enjoyed for many years. I like that the footprint is just a bit smaller on my counter and the "strong brew" button definitely replaces the ability to select water temps. Even better are the bigger cup sizes; especially the travel mug one as that is the size I brew the most. I had to make 2 brews on the old machine to achieve that volume. The finish is great (less silver to show fingerprints) and the reservoir is about the same size. Interestingly this model is MUCH quieter than my old one. I used to be able to hear the entire brew cycle from 2 rooms away and now I really only hear the final air push as it finishes. It is almost as satisfying as a "ding." I would have preferred the red model (I'm partial) but black is classic. This model must have a new heating system as the old one seemed to fill a large reservoir prior to and just after brewing. This model essential starts dripping shortly after a warm up and draws water "as needed" based on the cup size brewed. This will probably help reduce the amount of descaling needed in the future. Overall, this was a great replacement and so far, no complaints.

This is my second Keurig machine and I have yet to be disappointed with them. This newer model allows for 4 different cup sizes (up to 12oz), has an option to provide a "strong brew" for those that like a stronger cup, and has a reservoir large enough to make 5 cups before refilling. Performance was as you would expect from Keurig, producing a delicious cup of coffee at the right temperature every time. And it takes less than a minute to brew each cup. You can't beat that. As a bonus, this model comes with 6 cups of coffee and cocoa to get you started. You can't go wrong with Keurig.
