A pretty good superhero movie. A good addition to my collection.

I can't even explain in words how much I loved this movie. Really enjoyed the story and the premise. The little girl in the movie stole the entire show. N Cage rules and he was great. An awesome adventure about a normal kid. Any geek who has ever dreamed of being a superhero when they were a kid will LOVE this dream-come-true of a movie. Awesome awesome awesome!!!!!!

Kick-@$$ is an unusal movie. For such an action-packed movie, the characters in the action are quite young. I am not a fan of Nicolas Cage, but he was by far the best choice for his character in this movie. He was smooth as silk and played his character flawlessly. If you don't know Chloe Grace Moretz yet, you are in for a great treat. She pretty much stole the show with her character. In case you haven't seen the movie yet, I will say no more about her. I can't spoil the fun for you. One of the great things about this movie is that it is about real (in the context of this movie) people who take on the roles of super-heros, and dealing with their mortality in these roles. After all, a simple kick to the shin affects them the same as it does us. There are no super-human strengths or abilities the characters posess, but through their determination and strong wills, they manage to win against the evil villains, who are also ordinary people, just very bad guys that the super-heros take on and take down. I thouroughly enjoyed this movie. I LOL'd many times throughout this movie. The only down-side to it is the over-the-top vulgar language in it. The movie would have been just as good if not better without it, or at least most of it.

This movie is phenomenal. It's one part superhero action adventure. One part goofy comedy. One part gorefest. All parts awesome. A kid wants to be a superhero because no one is one, so he buys a suit... and the suspension of disbelief flies out the window. The plot is based off a comic book serie by the same name, and though a few plot devices are switched up to make it more for the mainstream audience, it still flows just as well as the comic did... The acting was decent all around, but nothing award winning. It's not the point, though, so in cases of certain characters, the weird acting fit perfectly. The extras are pretty mundane as extras go nowadays. Making of. From comic to screen. Etc. What I think movies should start trying to do is have a featurette in the DVD's where the characters continue the story for a half hour show or something, to add to the extras to really put them on the top. But for now, these will do. Definitely a must buy, and if you haven't seen it... SEE IT.

If you ever wondered what it would be like to put on some tights and fight crime, this is the movie for you. Kick-A**(I can't even write the name of the movie on my review) has it all -- action, adventure, comedy, drama and a little romance. Geeks rule. Most comic to film style movies lose their edge in adaption, but nothing is lost here. The choice for actors is perfect. I never heard of Aaron Johnson before this movie but he was magnificent -- playing the unknown geek to the reckless Kick-A**. I saw this movie at the theater, and when it was over I said I have to own it. Now that I do own it, I've watched it countless times and I recommend it to all my friends and tell them they got to buy it also. So what are you waiting for - GO GET YOUR COPY NOW.

At first, when I saw the preview on TV, I thought this was going to be just another cheesy movie. I was VEEERY wrong. My Mom told me about it stating that this was a movie that I would never expect. She also said that it was one of the best movies she seen in a long time. For people that haven't seen this movie yet, I very recommend that you do. If you are the type of person that likes slick action and gore, then this is a must-see for you; this is definitely something any kid shouldn't see at all. But anyway, a great plot that stays in place perfectly through the whole story, good-length-satisfied movie, good acting, good laughs that would never expect, and some of the best/funny action that you would see from these kids. I warn you, don't be fooled by the previews! If you don't watch this, then you just missed one of the best clips of 2010...

This is how all comic book movies should be made, no PG-13 ratings to get the kiddies into the theaters, just good old fashioned graphic novelization in all its glory. This is NOT a movie for kids unless of course your child is used to hanging around at the shipyard, the action is intense and well paced. If you want a real comic brought to life on the silver screen this is the film for you, those who are easily offended by course language should not view this one, instead leave it to those of use who understand that not everyone speaks in Mary Poppins overtones, and that yes indeed some kids have foul mouths. The casting is excellent from top to bottom, the action is perfectly choreographed from start to finish, why this didn't make more at the box office is beyond me.

Artsy flick about a teenage New Yorker superhero wannabe. A fun spoof on the regular comic book superhero genre. There are quite a few dark moments. This film earned its "R" rating. If you are considering purchasing for kids; look in the left column and click the "CommonSense" check out this review button. "CommonSense" is overly conservative; but is dead-on with the recommedation of "Not for kids". 14 and up for most American children would be my suggestion. Please read the back cover carefully. I returned a copy to BB as failing to play. They gladly allowed an exchange. Got home, loaded up (Toshiba BDX2000), and the BD would not play. The system requirements on the back cover in small print: make sure you have the latest firmware available, 128MB of built-in memory, or the addition of a SD card or USB memory device may be necessary for correct playback and additional features. I plugged in a blank 2GB SD card and like magic the BD played flawlessly. If your BD player is networked; Lionsgate entertainment has a few surprises for you. They utilize your ISP data to determine your local time and weather and display that information on the main menu or whenever you press the "red" function button. This is a review of the actual BD release. All the extra features are in 1080P. DVD with upconversion doesn't come close.Buy the BD.

Going into this movie a little skeptical as its a teenage boy becoming a super hero??? Well, I was sorely wrong, this movie blew my socks off. Without going into too much detail and ruining it for you. The teenage boy decides to become said "super" hero and boy does he. This movies plot left me wanting more the entire movie. This could have been 3 hours long and I would have been wanting more, its a good thing I have learned they are coming out with a part 2! Take all your comic book story lines, batman, spiderman, ironman, now actually throw them to the boy AND girl that we all wanted to be (admit it) and thats this movie. LOVED IT!

I have to say, I never gave this film a chance until recently when it was on sale for $9.99. I hated the title and the cover of the blu ray, to me it just sounded and looked corny. I've been on a comic book based film tip lately so I decided I'd give it a chance. So glad I did. This movie really does kick butt! Everyone loves the story of the unpopular nerd blooming , but it gets old. The film really made it fresh again. This is not only a great story, but it's delivered so well. It's exciting and you can really relate to it. The film has the perfect blend of action and comedy. The action scenes are intense and well done. The movie also really shines in the audio and video departments. Do yourself a favor and purchase this movie even if you're not into the whole comic book based genre, you'll still love this film.

From dialogue to action scenes to the characters, this is really an underrated movie. Main character's relationship with life and his friends is interesting as well as big daddy and hit-girls relationship and that's not even the best parts of the movie. Bottom line...don't miss this one as I'm ready to throw it in and watch it again.

This movie was not one I would have typically checked out if not for the rave reviews the owner of The Core comic book store and his employees gave the comic. I finally spoke with Mike the owner of The Core in Cedra Falls, Iowa about the content of this comic and based on what he told me I knew I had to check it out. I am very glad I did.

I LOVED this movie! I was pleasantly surprised! I was expecting a silly slap stick comedy, but was surprised to see that it was a great action flick! Though it was just a little disturbing to see a little girl do so much killing, I had to remember the rating of the film, it's not meant to be watched by young kids. I think this movie will become a cult classic, it has some funny moments, but once the action starts it sucks you in. I highly recommend this movie! It will bring out the geek in you!

This is hands down one if the best superhero movies ever made, and a great movie on its own. If you want to see a real take on what would really happen if superheroes existed, then this is the story to be told. When it first came out, I thought it was a teen comedy, but I was in for a surprise. While it is hilarious, it's full of action, has an amazingly well written story, and really connects with its audience. Buy this movie because the title speaks for itself.

The film starts much as the infamous Spider-man 3 with the protagonist giving a voice over but many of the other horrible things are not there. The acting is great considering the younger age of some of the main people of the cast but is then held up by people to the likes of Nicholas Cage and Mark Strong, but they do not hold the movie up at all each actor holds their own ground in this one. And though the movie has some cheesy plot points as well as many homages to dozens of movies in the superhero genera and abound it is ultimately fun for the whole family. If that family enjoys watching the blood fly.

This is a pretty good movie if you love crazy action. It comes maybe a couple times less than it could have, but when it does it will leave a huge smile on your face. The plot is simple, but believable. The only drawback is that the title character does not do much of his namesake. Other than that this movie is a lot of fun to watch, and you most likely will enjoy it.

The movie was better than I though it would be. It looked and sounded great. I have an older Sony Blu-Ray player and the movie played fine on mine. I have the most current firmware in the player and it went through with no problem. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes action mixed with comedy.

~~WOW!!! By far, one of the BEST Blu-ray transfers i've ever seen!!!! I already thought this movie was pretty amazing when I first saw it, but seeing it in Blu-Ray format reinvented my experience. Every pigment in this movie is flawless! The movie is encoded in 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 format MUST OWN!!!!!

I expected fair at best. However turned out to be great. Good acting funny at time but has a serious side as well which adds to your focus on the movie holding your attention. My attention span is short but this held mine till the end. I say buy it.

Kick-*ss is a good time. Good acting, good humor, violent action. I checked out the Mark Millar comic after watching, which has some deviations. The main one being Big Daddy's background, while being less realistic than the movie's it's just a really cool reveal. Bluray is packed, with great video, audio, and extras. Looking forward to the sequel.
