A release worthy for a King! If you’re anything like me, and you’ve enjoyed Kong’s latest film “Kong:Skull Island” and you’re still anticipating Kong’s next film that’s putting him against a certain giant lizard, then what better time to take a trip back to Skull Island, in Peter Jackson’s heartfelt remake of the original film? The movie simply looked fantastic on its Blu-ray transfer and it still continues to shine in glorious 4K! The picture, colors and sound are simply amazing on this release! Would highly recommend if you’re a fan on the Peter Jackson film! Also, the extended edition is fun to watch as well!

First movie seen with my future wife. Had to get on 4k

Very enjoyable retelling of the King Kong story set in the same time period as the original. Exciting non-stop thrills once Kong shows up on Skull Island. I felt that Adrien Brody and Jack Black were both miscast but Naomi Watts is outstanding in the Fay Wray role. A bit of judicious editing would've helped, The film could easily lose 15 minutes. The opening is a bit slow and the ending runs long but the middle segment on Skull Island is darn near perfect except for the overwrought presentation of the natives. Superb action scenes and special effects. Also, I'm at a loss why one of the deleted scenes included as a bonus was cut . It's exciting and fits into the movie much better than many unecessary scenes that were left in. But I guess that's just my opinion and I'm not Peter Jackson. Overall, an exciting must see.

One of the best King Kong movies ever made........

Here is an example of possibly believing your own hype. Peter Jackson is truly a visionaries but this movie just goes on and on and on. Some judicious editing and trimming might have helped. But Kong looks fantastic and Andy Serkis almost steals the show.

Good special effects. I enjoy all King Kong movies.

Loved the Tyrannosaurus Rex vs King Kong fight scene

This is possibly the best, highest quality version of a remake that there is. I dreamed of Peter Jackson remaking King Kong and then he went and did it. Now comes the uncut version in the highest quality available. What's not to love about that? Get the popcorn ready, turn down the lights and be amazed. Also, with King Kong vs. not one, but THREE T-Rex's this movie has one of the best fight scenes in movie history next to Bruce Lee facing off against Chuck Norris. Monumental! Now Peter Jackson, how about remaking Excalibur?

When it comes to Remake of a classis, Peter Jackson did an outstanding job. Always wanted the Ultimate 3 disc edition So for $10 it was a no brainer. Be warned the Digital copy is only the Theatrical Version. Not sure why Universal went that route but that is what the CS Email rep wrote back. None the less it's a great pkg and a every sci fi movie lover should own.

Best remake of King Kong since the original. They didn’t skimp on what every kid loved about the original. The Skull Island environment and dinosaurs. Sure it was beauty that killed the beast but it was Kong and dinosaurs that made a classic. The 4K brings this film further to life!! Fun fun fun!

The features are what really make this set. Few master filmmakers are willing to pull the curtain as far back as Jackson, to give audiences and the curious a glimpse into the process and the work which goes on behind the scenes. This set finally collects all of the BTS features found on The Original DVDs, the Extended DVDs, the Pre-Production DVDs, and, of course, the HD Blu Ray movie itself, in both Theatrical and Extended editions, featuring all of the commentaries. Being a BTS junkie, it's allowed me to clear 4 redundant releases of this movie off my shelf, because this one has it all*. *Except 4K, which is coming soon. And 3D, which might still be coming, but probably not.

I watched this movie 20 times and will watch it 20 more times! Very intense and will scare you many times. It will make your heart pound at times. Great acting by Jack Black, Brody and Niomi Watts! She is excellent in this movie. She makes you feel her emotions. The Kong animation is awesome. You feel his expressions and see what he feels in his eyes. Has a great storyline. It follows the original 1930's version with some excellent enhancements. Skull island and the inhabitants are great. One of the best of all time movies.

Beautiful movie, and now that it's on the 4K steelbook, it looks fantastic and sounds incredible through the stereo sound bar. Get it now and live the updated tale of KING KONG, the latest remake of the 1976 version starring Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange. Nice artwork throughout and the discs have some artwork as well. Find a good deal on this one, they are out there. Recommended!

My first shipment of this 4K edition came with ONLY the special features - it was missing the bluray and the UHD. Luckily, Best Buy made it right and shipped me another and provided a return label for the one that was basically empty. As for the movie, at being half the price of other 4k movies (granted, this is a 2005 movie) - it's worth picking up for anyone looking to see the movie for the first time or just to add to your collection. You wont be disappointed in this release!

I am a huge fan of this KING KONG movie!!! I really enjoy the 50s or 40s theme and Jack Black played a great role . all the actors and actresses really came through and the plot was perfect unlike most of the new ones that are dumpster fires with Godzilla and whatever else they are putting in them these days, I do like the King Kong that has LOKI , CAPTAIN MARVEL, AND NICK FURY. I LOVE MARVEL!!!
