Terrible movie but it was a cheap steelbook so I had to have it.

i bought this movies because i had just watch the new one in the theaters so i wanted to compare it with this one from a few years ago. this version was way to long. it was over 3 hrs and it felt even longer. there was a lot that could have been cut. don't invest 3 hrs in this

The print is ok but the video has big border lines

I didn't really like the movie it was pretty boring..

the case was empty there was no movie or blu ray...im disappointed..this was going to be my first 4k movie

This is one movie I should have passed on, although I did get to bond in laughter over this with my sister. Too bad, because I like the leading actors.

I was looking forward to liking this movie, so disappointed. Jungle chasing scenes were far too long. Still a Jack Black fan though!

Came close to returning it until a friend took it to have a Blu-Ray copy

I didn't notice a huge improvement over the standard blu ray. So that was a bit disappointing. I main thing though was getting the steelbook and its a beautiful steelbook.

this is probably the best remake along side war of the worlds and the departed. naomi watts is great as ann(but she wouldve died from kong draggin her around like that). jack black does a surprisingly good job as carl denham. and one of my all time favorites, adrien brody does good as the hero, jack driscoll. all the rest of the cast does just fine. but adrien brody shouldve came before jack black in the cast, though. peter jackson of course is gonna do a great jod telling the depth of the story and of course the special effects. the music is one of the main highlights here, though. its all great and really sets the tone for every scene. the second disc is great and tells you a lot from directing the trailer to sound mixing. every is there to like-the relationships, the special effects and the dramatic ending. king kong goes about 7 or 8 minutes over 3 hours. some people may think the begining drags on and it does but that didnt bother me at all. the run time is perfect here just so you get to know the characters. and so what if it takes an hour to get to the island. but when they do get there, its pure adrenaline all the way to the end with some of the most exciting chases and fight scenes in cinema history. so overall, king kong is a reinvinted masterpiece.

Great movie and am happy to have this in 4k with new steel book packaging.

First off, I enjoy movies that have great picture and sound quality. I can no longer watch DVD formats as the quality reminds me of the VHS era. I have long awaited for this movie to be printed in Blu-Ray since it was released on "HD DVD". The picture is outstanding and the sound effects tops it when you watch it in 5.1 surround. I'm talking about having a full 5.1 theatre system. I had to visit two Best Buy stores to get a copy. It appears they only have a maximum of three copies per store. Enjoy!

I most certainly enjoyed this movie. It's just plain fun and a good way to spend 2 1/2 hours on a lazy weekend. The movie did drag a bit until they get to the island. I understand the importance of character development but Adrienne Brody and Jack Black are poor choices so we would have been better served with a brief intro then a quick cut to the action. The effects were really impressive but what else would you expect from WETA Studios of Lord of the Rings fame. Here's my one big gripe with this movie, and in fact all versions of King Kong.... Why the heck would go to the trouble of building a massive wall to keep King Kong and all the other badies out and then build a gate right in front of your villiage large enough for him to walk through? Why not just build a regular sized gate so all the villiagers could come and go but the giant murderous ape could not? I have yet to get a good answer to this question. Please let me know if you think of one...

Great build up .Stayed true to the original from the Depression Era build up to KONG'S last breath. DTS sound made the Dino beast seem as if they were trampling through my apartment . Extended version is a little over 3 hours .Fun movie ! I bought this on line (The first copy) .It was defective. Took it to my local Best Buy and they exchanged it , no questions asked !

great movie in 4K, I had an HD DVD version before, I never bought Bluray version when HD DVD failed. I used Oppo 203 player and LG C6 to watch this, 4K transfer is stunning, 4K bluray has DTS X soundtrack as well. For owners of 4K tv with HDR this is very nice movie to have, you will enjoy the details the pictures brings. the details in dark scenes in island and city are best I have seen. other than long movie to watch in one session this is great movie for family to enjoy.

This is my favorite movie of all time!and now it's on blu-ray,with both versions including the extended version.with even better hi-def quality then the great hd-dvd version!and sound for the ultimate Kong experience!Peter Jackson's 3 Academy Award winning remake,has everthing your looking for in movie classics!I'm so excited,just in time for my birthday!!!

This is one of my favorite movies for several reasons. One: I'm a huge monster movie fan (Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, etc...). Second: It holds true to the orginal (unlike the 1970's remake). Third: I thought the relationship between Ann Darrow and King Kong was the truest sense of love (the orginal failed to accomplish this). The acting was really well done. The action was well above my expectations, and I was expecting a lot! The CGI was very realistic, except maybe in a few spots, but the rest of the movie made up for it. The music was right on! Overall, a great movie with everything done the right way!

For over 3 hours your are just sitting watching a great movie. some come with digital download some don,t some have both version some on come with original buy this blu ray and sit back and enjoy the ride no the idn,t change the ending

This is a great movie. Peter Jackson did an incredible job with it. It starts out a little slow but definitely picks up. King Kong himself looks amazing, as do all of the dinosaurs and bugs. The story has a lot of action and drama as well and it gets the audience to really fall in love with King Kong. It is, however, more than 3 hours long and this may be a problem for some people. Overall, I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone!

Peter Jackson's King Kong is one of the most entertaining, rewatchable and finest monster movies ever made. It's a masterpiece. The CGI on King Kong is believable. The 2005 remake is so great that it made 1933 classic original look stupid. Sure the 1933 King Kong is good too but the 2005 one is better. I recommend this movie for everyone. If you don't like it, what's wrong with you?
