THIS MOVIE IS JUST WONDERFUL!! The surround mixture in this was pure perfection each detail in the movie was just down right amazing every roar and scream will literally shake your body

I just watched this last night and was so happy to see it again! There have been many versions of the King Kong movies over the years but I consider this to be one of the best. Directed by Peter Jackson ( Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit films ) and he works his magic with this one as well. Thoroughly enjoyable!!!

So many people complain and belly ache about this bloated feature. Yes, it is longer than it needs to be. Yes, Tom Hanks' son should appear less frequently than he does. The main reason to watch: the gorgeous Naomi Watts. The only think this film needs is Nicole Kidman. Then I would be very happy (and so would Kong).

Wasn't very fun because it felt long, but worth a watch if you like monster flicks and special effects.

I like Peter Jackson's modern version of King Kong. Naomi Watts and Jack Black were great choices to act in the movie. Some may not like how long this movie is, but like the Lord of the Rings movies, I think the longer the better.

I love that they had the extended cut and for a good price ive always knew there was a extended version but had never seen it i decided to buy it and after watching it i love it more then the theatrical version. Must buy !!!!!!

Peter Jackson's vision shines on this blu-ray. A solid remake of the classic King Kong. While the new Kong film went in a totally different direction, this was a fun take on the classic. The comic-style steelbook is pretty cool, although I prefer artwork on the back cover of a steelbook vs. technical specs.

Didn’t purchase for me, youngest son is a King Kong fan...

Bought this shortly after watching the newer Kong: Skull Island. This one is still one of my favorite Kong movies, as it gives a traditional nod to the original story. Although the story from Kong: Skull Island is more compelling, this movie has a lot of action and a longer run time. Oh and dinosaurs.

This is just a repackage of the original Blu-Ray, however, it boasts additional features. The film is solid, and a fun adventure visiting Skull Island. If you’re into features, and Blu-Ray extras, then this if for you. I purchased this for $10, but at full price I still think it’s a deal. At some points the CGI looks a bit unrefined and noticeable, but for 2005 I think I’m just nitpicking.

I liked this movie when Peter Jackson released it on DVD, now it gets the 4K treatment and it has tons of extras on it. I never bought the bluray and I am so glad I didn't since the bluray is also included with this release. Great movie, excellent special effects and a worthwhile investment.

I would highly recommend the Peter Jackson version of King Kong over the 1933 classic hands down. There is more to the movie and Peter Jackson did a great job creating it. Yeah Kong is CGI, just like all the monsters on Skull Island, but it works better the stop and go clay monition. Trust when I say if you liked the 1933 classic! Then you will want to own Peter Jacksons version as well.

One of the few remakes to an all time classic to be pretty good gets a really good Blu Ray. It comes with the theatrical AND extended edition along with a digital copy for your portable devices. I got this for $10 but would’ve definitely got my money’s worth for whatever it’s original price was.

A little on the long side, but still a great movie. A great remake on the classic tale, with a twist having much of the movie located on Skull Island. The sunset scene on the boat, many Skull Island scenes, and the sunrise on the Empire State Building look outstanding in 4K too!

Overall a great movie. Don’t be fooled by its long run time it is actually paced really well and a lot of fun to watch. Andy Serkis as motion capture for Kong is just perfect and he is the reason this movie did so well.

I got this one and another king kong movie at another store thinking they were Two different movies but they were the same thing just different packaging. While I like the steelbook option for movies l wish there was a more pronounced Year on the packaging to know what year version you are buying so that you don't end up buying the same thing in regular packaging.

My absolute favorite King movie of all time. It ironically is the one I waited last to add to my collection. Good Atmos, nice 4K upscale

I absolutely love this version. Amazing special effects, beautiful animation. Incredible score. Peter Jackson's favorite film growing up was the original King Kong and his deep love for the material really shows.

Peter Jackson has created an excellent movie and tribute to the 1933 original. Those knowing the story will still be held by spectacle of this movie's cinematography. Additionally, a bonus disc contains many interesting production video diaries covering all the aspects of film making.

This movie has all the earmarks of the original...but with the scenes extended and I'm not talking about the deleted scenes that were added back in either...no, I'm talking about seeing more of only what they hinted at in the original which makes for a long...very long movie. Your tail end might fall asleep but it's still a pretty fun ride with lots of eye candy added.
