This is a great remake of the original King Kong and much better than the Dino De Laurentis production. Adaptation is on par with the original (which was mind blowing for its day), acting is good, effects were top notch. Get this flick and get the popcorn out for a fun night's viewing!

Great movie. One of my wife’s favorites. Upgraded from Blu-ray to 4K. Long live The King.

This is a review of the video quality - not the content. I've seen this movies on cable, but the video quality upgrade watching on blu ray is amazing! I was like watching it for the first time.

This film looks and sounds amazing in 4k! The picture is very sharp and clear! The sound is crisp and clear! Highly recommend to anyone!

The picture quality is good for a movie back in 2005, it going to blow you away? NO! But it a better quality to view in 4k with modern tvs or want a better quality picture then DVD or blu ray.

Peter Jackson's King Kong is an epic spectacle. It's even more dazzling to behold in 4k. It also has a healthy dose of bonus features for those that have interest in the film making process.

The colors on the disc are so washed out looking thanks to some bad HDR tinkering by the studio. The first act of the movie will make you feel as though one of the kids has been messing with your tv settings while you were at work. It isn't as noticeable once the team gets too the island, but the picture still looks a bit too high on contrast and even sharp in some places. As for the audio, Universal opted only for DTS:X. No Dolby Atmos, which my receiver supports, so I couldn't utilize my overhead channels unfortunately. Overall, I'd say stick with the Blu-ray for the original (and better) colors.

Always wanted to have a blue ray version of this movie. It was even on sale when I picked it up and even got a ultraviolet digital watch anywhere offer. You can't beat the deal and I still love this movie.

I had seen this plenty of times before but the 4K transfer is outstanding. One of the best I’ve seen so far and from a movie this old is amazing.

This edition is the exact same as the previously released steelbook. Double dipping will only get you a lenticular slipcover, no new special features. But if you don't own it, this has both the theatrical and extended versions. And the movie is just a good popcorn movie.

What can I say? One of the best movies out there. And I love that it's long! I like the packaging because not only you get the theatrical version, but you get the extended edition as well. Watch both versions!

Excellent movie in 4k extended release. Includes the swamp scene and the too-long dinosaur chase scene but so good and visual/audio is great in 4k $9.99 over Black Friday made it an even better deal.

An extra 13 minutes to already very long movie seems unheard of but it this case in makes the movie even that much better and one of my favorite movies of all time

This review is more about the 4k than the movie which I'm sure everyone has seen by now. The movie looks fresh and vibrant. A real treat for 4k. Other than that there isn't anything new here.

It was a great Kong movie of 2005. I had to have it in the "Kong" movie collection. Great acting and good visual effects for the time.

One of the favorite movies I was finally able to get on 4K steelbook and it is just beautiful. I was happy to add it to my collection.

This film is very well acted and directed. A true tribute to the original black and white film. It is clear that this was a labor of love for the director. Special effects are top notch. Definitely recommend.

This movie i saw in theaters and it was so long I about fell asleep. At home on on my lg oled however brought this movie to life the visual improvements over the original film are astounding and definitely worth seeing for yourself just have a giant bowl of popcorn.

Great movie made even better with a 4k touchup. The detail on Kong is mind blowing and Skull island comes with so much detail well worth the upgrade!
