This movie takes place prior to the Final Fantasy XV game. It is not required to see but will certainly fill some story in for you. If you are not a gamer this is still a well put together stand alone movie.

The movie delves deeper into the world of Final Fantasy, specifically the FFXV game. If you plan on playing that game, or already have, the movie will add more to the experience.

I went into this movie not knowing what to expect but wanting to be able to play 15 without issue. After the first hour I was deep into the movie and started to really enjoy it! Let me repeat...the first hour is SLOW and tedious due to all the story and dialogue. Afterwards you really get to see what is going on and enjoy some of the best fight scenes in an animated movie. Also the best part...once you see this you will know the story of 15 as the cut scenes and story driven pieces are usually torn pieces of the movie.

One of the most beautiful CGI I have ever seen, the story is pretty awesome, the action scenes are epic, and the cast did a great job with the voice overs. If your a Dan of Final Fantasy, this is a must own.

Very good movie for a fan of the FF series especially FFXV. You actually should watch the movie and the anime included before playing the game cause it transitions very nicely.

The steelbook looks and feels nice. I enjoyed the movie and if you're looking forward to Final Fantasy XV, I would say this is worth a watch. It's a good set up to the game. :)

The movie plays like a series of cut scenes from a game. So the plot feels a little choppy and it's hard to follow. But the animation is fantastic and it's still a good movie.

The film was great and visually stunning. The voice acters were great too, only if there was better synchronization between the acters voices and the characters would this be an even better flick to see.

This is one of the better Final Fantasy films in my opinion. Graphics are incredible and story is good as well. Packed with an All-Star cast, you're sure to love this movie!

This was a lot of fun to watch. Was it the most amazing story ever written? No. Sometimes we want a movie that is pleasing to the eye and makes for a pleasant diversion from reality. Amazing graphics!

Loved the film. Great CGI from a company already well known for great graphics. Interesting plot and characters, and a great lead in to the final fantasy xv game. Highly recommended!

Great introduction to the upcoming video game. I am a long time fan, so this is a interesting way to learn about the history/lore of the game and prepare for what is coming.

Entertaining with a lot of action. Storyline not on the level with the Final Fantasy VII spinoffs in my opinion, but still good. Die hard Final Fantasy fans will enjoy.

A beautifully done CG movie. The story line is a bit jumpy (typical of most of the Final Fantasy movies), but is nicely done. Definitely watch this before playing FFXV!

For all those fans of the Final Fantasy genre you will not be disappointed with this latest installment pick it up all those anime eloving friends you will all enjoy it

If you are interested in FFXV at all, then I'd highly recommend grabbing this. Sets up the events of the game nicely. Advent Children is still the best FF movie, but this is a very close second.

Great back story to learning the events that lead up to the Final Fantasy 15 game. Some moments were kind of slow, but the rest of the story made up for those parts that lacked.

Great movie for an old Final fantasy fan. A little slow but I enjoyed the story. I watched it all ready but wanted to see it again after starting Final Fantasy 15.
