    KitchenAid Product Knowledge

    I have not yet installed the Microwave. This review is evaluating KitchenAid personnel Product Knowledge. I spoke with no less then 3 KA representatives and each told me the unit contains a spacer kit. The kit would accommodate the opening of my previous KA microwave. It will not. SO in addition to spending $2,600 I also have to special order a $175 spacer. I did not have access to a manual when I order the oven but the one provided clearly states that a special spacer would be required. Evidently the product experts at KA were not trained to review the installation portion of the manual. I now know more than the product experts at KA..PS: Expect to be on hold for a life time.

    Weak power microwave

    As everyone says very stylish, but this replaced a $150 microwave and I find it has nowhere near the power of the $150 old microwave. For the money, it is not worth it

    Faulty display DO NOT BUY!

    Display went out twice in a span of four years. And it cost $250 to get fixed. When a display goes out multiple of times there is something wrong. Be warned!

    KitchenAid Convection Microwave disappointment

    Only got 2.5 years before it failed and I have to replace it. My home warranty service couldn't fix it. It's also not very intuitive on how to use it. For the price and reputation, you'd expect more longevity and a better user manual.

    I truly appreciate the service I revived in ordering this microwave it was not available at any other vendor. It arrived as promised and it is excellent.

    $500 to change the light bulb.

    You have to take the microwave out of the wall, and almost completely dissassemble it to change the light bulb. That fact alone disqualified this unit from being acceptable. Do not buy it.

    Expensive. Bulb change requires disassembly

    When the halogen bulb eventually dies, you will need to completely remove this from the wall and disassemble the microwave in order to change the bulb. This is an unacceptable design flaw.

    Bleating sheep in my kitchen

    I only wanted one feature in my microwave: silence. $1100 later I can't turn the infernal "tones" off so the microwave bleats at me every time I touch it. It says the tones can be turned off but it doesn't say how. Infuriating.
