    Meh. Dissapointng for a KitchenAid

    First one arrived damaged after unboxing. Top of microwave has way too little packing material inside the box. Best Buy was great and got another delivered within 2 days. Worked great... until.... 1 month later and the start button has started peeling from the control panel. It's not the most expensive microwave but I expect way better from KitchenAid.

    Disappointing Quality

    We bought this unit thinking it would be an upgrade to our existing KitchenAid microwave. KitchenAid quality has taken a terrible nosedive since we purchased a similar unit 10 years ago. Compared to our previous KitchenAid unit, this one is much more 'flimsy' and is noticeably more noisy when cooking, and when closing the door. It also requires a new $125 trim kit if installing as built in - and the 'stainless' trim kit is made of PLASTIC! We returned this unit and opted to stay with our 10 year old previous model. Only reason for 2 stars instead of one is that this unit offers a 30 second quick cook button vs 60 second. Everything else is worse compared to our old model...

    Love the size and usually happy with Frigidaire products. However , this one was loud and wild spark and then cut out like it was shorting. Had to return

    It installed easy and cooks food like a microwave should other than that it's not great. The "stainless steel finish is cheap and shows finger prints bad. The worst part is it is difficult to open ( the button takes a lot of force to operate). No luck when I tried to ask Kitchen Aid if this was normal just no response. So I recommend avoiding Kitchen Aid products.

    We replaced the same brand of microwave twice and it only lasts in working condition an average of two years. The quality of the KitchenAid microwave is below average.

    Over priced for basic features. The supposedly matching trim kit was SUPER cheap and didn't even fit. Returned both. We bought a Panasonic instead which is significantly better and less expensive

    Numbers Peel & Totally Died in Less Than 2 years

    This is a terrible microwave. We originally bought this microwave in mid 2021. After a few months, the numbers on the keypad and start button started peeling and bubbling. We contacted Kitchenaid and they sent a replacement at no charge, which was great. I've had the replacement one since January 2022 so less then 2 years and it totally died on us the other day. In terms of the functionality of the microwave, it works great which is why it got 2 stars and not 1. However, after 6 months the buttons on the keypad for the replacement one started peeling and bubbled like the first. I didn't bother to try and get another replacement figuring that one was probably all they would do. However, it was absolutely horrible looking and for the cost of this microwave totally unacceptable that it had such a poor and obvious defect. Anyway, we dealt with the bad look as the microwave itself was good in how it cooked and so forth. That is until the other day when it totally blew and the service tech said it was the capacitor and would cost more to fix than replace. of course, not under warranty as Kitchenaid only provides one year warranty so now I am stuck two days before Thanksgiving with no working microwave. I have all Kitchenaid appliances so I am stuck whether to have one appliance not the same brand as others or suck it up and see if we get another lemon. Very frustrated customer.

    Door won’t open with button

    We purchased for our new home in April and moved in three weeks ago. I’ve already had issues with the noise level when it starts and now the opening mechanism will not consistently work.
