When i first bought it, it burned everything. Had to call and get a RMA from KitchenAid to replace my new toaster. The Replacement i got was NO better.

It is a big bulky unit that looks out of place with my other kitchen aid appliances which were purchased a few years ago. This toaster is also defective: at levels 2 and 3 it burns on one side while the opposite side is barely toasted at all. Also, it only accommodates small pieces of bread because the slots are only 5-1/2" long. The width can accommodate bagels. The outside on the length side appears to be plastic. The width appears to be some kind of metal but it's really pretty cheap. I don't think it is aluminum. Overall I do not recommend this toaster.

Worst Toaster Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this toaster because of the Kitchen Aid name, and even though there were much cheaper toasters available I thought this would be a better one. So wrong - it does not toast bread of any kind evenly. Also, it burns all the toast unless it is on the very lowest setting. I just bought this toaster on 1/6/2014 at Meijer and didn't keep receipt or box or I would definitely be sending it back. I will be buying a replacement because this toaster is unusable.
