We've had this refrigerator for just over 2 years…nothing but problems. The on the top shelf freezes and I've had to throw so much away. A beautiful look but it doesn't function properly. A service call was made not long after we bought it but nothing can be done to fix the problem. Have to buy a new one. What a waste of $. Very disappointing.

I really like my new refrigerator. The old fridge quit working

We purchased ours less than a year ago and have had service repairs on it twice and yes alas it freezes our refrigerated items AND makes the most awful noise almost 24/7. I am miserable living with this piece of rubbish in our open plan kitchen, my ears can’t stand it.

TL/DR: Don't spend your money on KitchenAid / Whirlpool trash. We bought this fridge in March of 2018. By July 2019 the compressor failed. Was under warranty but a site visit costs $129, which we paid, then the following occurred: 1. Vendor came to inspect 2. vendor came to fix (1 week later) 3. Fridge died again (2 more weeks) 4. Fridge was inspected again and deemed un-repairable (1-2 more weeks). We were told Kitchenaid would call us but they didnt. I called them and they assured me they would call me when ready, but they still never called. I was on vacation out of country so another week passed 5. They finally deliver a replacement after I call them, but its dented (2 more weeks) 6. They deliver a second replacement but its dented AGAIN (1 more week) 7. Who the heck knows... will I ever get a replacement fridge? Our fridge died in July and tomorrow will be October.

Mine often emits a high pitch whistling noise when the compressor is on. It is giving me headaches and I have to turn on music to drown it out. Kitchen-Aid is refusing to correct the isue under the warranty.

I purchased my refrigerator almost three years ago. Right now all three door handles keep coming loose. We have tightened them several times and two holes are becoming stripped. I began calling Kithchenaid about this after the first year. They told me handles only have a 30 day warranty and they will not replace them. They said handles are cosmetic and would not have been covered under an extended warranty. It will cost me $200 to replace them. Today they said there is nothing they can do for me. Also, I don't like the fact that all the shelves stop so far from the back of the frig that many items fall down behind the shelf. The water dispenser is to high for young kids to use and the water comes out SLOWLY. I thought I was getting a quality frig with the name Kitchenaid, but would not recommend this refrigerator.

Bad design, more for good looks instead of functionality. You have to open the freezer every time you need ice, and refrigerator door every time you want filtered water. Sometimes when you have the freezer door open, ice cubes will fall behind the baskets and later melt on your kitchen floor, or they will prevent your door from closing completely. I have replaced the water hose once for leaking and the tech told me "they all do this". Ice maker does not keep pace for demand from a four person family. The sliding bracket holding one side of the ice tray started sticking and then broke off completely. Getting filtered water means opening the door every time and letting cold air escape. The adjustable door storage boxes are made from thin plastic, and almost all of mine are cracked after just three years. The insulation trim on the doors also started peeling off after the first year. Positives - The water filter is easy to replace. This is the fourth Kitchen Aide fridge I have owned, and the only one I have disliked.

I purchased this refrigerator on black Friday along with the matching dishwasher. They were supposed to deliver them both last Wednesday, but there was a glitch with the delivery. At this point, the dishwasher has yet to arrive and the refrigerator is completely broken. All of the food in our freezer and refrigerator spoiled and created a huge rotten mess. Stay far away from this refrigerator! Best Buy said the fridge is probably a "dud" and they will bring a new one in several days. They did allow me to borrow a small loaner fridge for the interim. This purchase has been an expensive fiasco.

Piece of very expensive junk. This refrigerator makes popping noises that at times sound like a gun being fired. We had a service rep from appliance doctor here three times and he said he had never heard such a thing (he was here when it actually did it). Well some kitchenaid repair person somewhere who has never seen or heard my refrigerator determined it was normal so to bad for me. The woman I finally spoke to at kitchenaid was as pleasant as a rattlesnake. The product is junk and their support makes every effort to convince you you are lying to them.

We have had this refrigerator for 4 years and the french doors have broken over and over again. The hinges come off and the doors have never closed properly. We have spent hundreds of extra dollars in repairs and the customer service at Kitchen Aid is terrible. Buy a different brand!

Buy the warranty or don't buy at all. Thought I was buying a premium product under the KitchenAid brand, but I've had to call KitchenAid twice when it was under manufacturer warranty due to loud mechanical sounds coming from the unit when it kicks on. There's a fairly constant humming/vibration noise coming from this unit. Much louder than the 15 year old Whirlpool unit it replaced. What a disappointment for the money.

We have had this about 5 years now. At 3 years it stopped producing ice and started builing up ice in the back of freezer. 2 different repair companies have came out 4 times trying to fix it. Several warranty parts replaced and Over $1000 out of pocket later and it still does the same thing. Their only suggestion at this point is to buy a new one.

Tried to install this unit but there was no leveling system for the back rollers. I called KitchenAid and they said they didn't have a Tech Support staff. I had to send the unit back with the delivery truck after waiting a month for this refrigerator. Little to NO Support at KitchenAid I am very disappointed in them!

Like the design of this unit, however the handles, (of which there are 3), have loosened every 3 months since I’ve owned it. In the past 18 months I’ve had service 6 times. The water is difficult to access being on the left side inside door. Ice cube tray takes up a lot of freezer space. I really find the handles to be more than problematic. It’s been a stressful, time consuming situation!

As soon as item was out of return policy it started acting weird which means it’s a warranty issue, not a Best Buy issue. Some days the fridge is at 38 degrees. Some days 48. Others 65. Not reliable at all, and I have to wait for kitchen aid to fix it which we are 3 weeks in and it’s not done yet. Save yourself some money and buy literally anything else.

After seeing the thousands upon thousands of customer complaints online about this brand I have come up with a proposal. A new campaign called #KickKitchenaid What this means is that every time you see a Kitchenaid appliance in a store, give it a solid kick, enough to put a dent in it. This will depreciate the value. Send a message to this company. As consumers we are dealing with a company with no integrity, it's time we show lack of integrity as well.

After having my fridge for 18 months, the refrigerator section started freezing over. A damper was replaced at my own expense. It cost me $200 and when I called KitchenAid they stressed they have a 1 year warranty. Buyer beware - or purchase the extended warranty. I didn't realize fridges are only made to last 18 months.
