It replaced a refrigerator from another maker than failed after about 14 months, which itself was a replacement for a refrigerator from that same other maker that failed after about 3 years. Both of these other refrigerators developed leaks in the sealed system, so I was looking for a model that had a parts and labor warranty on the sealed system of at least 5 years. This KitchenAid comes with a relatively good warranty. The freezer section is about 13.5 inches wide and the trays in the freezer are about 13 inches deep, which is larger than some other models, which I like. The refrigerator is relatively quiet, but occasionally makes a faint high-pitched whirring sound, which I will have to get used to. My wife does not like the water dispenser in that the location of the spot where the water comes out is a little too close to the back, so water tends to be spilled a bit. All in all, we are happy with the refrigerator, but cannot judge durability until a few years from now.

I purchased this fridge on the 4th of July 2019 and on the 27th of August 2020, the fridge decided to stop cooling. The compressor was making a humming noise and wasn't cooling. I was able to get a licensed kitchenaid repair company to come take a look at it. To my surprise the seal system was bad, meaning it leaked all the freon out within a year. The cost to repair the system and fill it all back up was going to cost me a $1000 (design flaw). This will be the only and last kitchenaid I ever purchase.

Rip Off
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The ice maker and water dispenser stopped working 11 months and 20 days from delivery, but because it was 1 year from date of purchase Best Buy did not replace. This is the worst refrigerator I have ever owned. We get water out of the sink now. Very unhappy with Best Buy's policy of 1 year warranty from date of purchase...it wasn't even in my home or used for 1 year.

Not worth the money
