    Inferior product! Cheap construction.

    Less than one year I have a dented refrigerator drawer. Plastic frame at the bottom of control panel is peeling! Cosmetic warranty is 30 days so apparently Kitchenaid doesn’t expect their appliances to hold up. I’ve purchased my last KITCHENAID products.

    I purchased a full package of kitchen aid appliance at the end of 2017. As of now two of the four appliances have completely stopped functioning. that a 50% failure rate in a two-year span!!!!! Do Not Buy These Product's there cheaply made and kitchen Aid will not stand by them!!!!!

    3 months after purchase, it needed service. Then 10 months later, needed service again. This time, they couldn't fix it. Warranty company is exchanging it. Will never buy Kitchenaid again.

    We bought this brand new. After 3 weeks I noticed all of my food in the freezer was completely thawed.

    I have this fridge for the past 3 years and is falling apart. Everything inside is made out of plastic and all shelves and drawers break. DO NOT BUY

    I expect better longevity for the price/brand

    Bought this in 2019. Really like the fridge except for 3 problems. 1. Silver bezzle around the water dispenser has rubbed off despite very infrequent use. I believe this is due to our very hard water. 2. After a year the ice machine stopped working. The wires that run at the bottom of the freezer door have been damaged by the door opening and closing. The Kichenaid technician that came out agreed that that was the cause of the ice machine not working. Its apparently a common problem with all fridges with this design. 3. A couple months ago (around 3 years after purchase) The fridge section started loosing temp randomly. It doesn't seem to effect the freezer at all. The Kichenaid repair technician could not determine what was wrong with it as it decided to work when they finally came out He suggested we monitor this temp fluctuations for a month. A month without a reliable fridge? yikes! I would probably be more alarmed at how fast this fridge has gone downhill but everyone in my family has had to replace their fridge this year so...

    this was our worst purchase ever! from getting one that broke within the first month to then getting it replaced with one with a bad door and them trying to replace it 4 times and each one coming was worse than the last. Finally kept the original one with crooked door and now after spending $950 to replace the computer and fan it won't cool on the fridge side and keeps frosting up. Every 2 weeks I have to defrost and remove the frost only to have it frost up again. My food is spoiling and this was a huge waste of money. Googled the issue and it's a known issue with this model and now I need a new fridge, don't buy this model!

    Problems with water dispenser.

    We have owned a similar kitchenAid model for three years. There's a flaw in the design of the base that catches water under the dispenser. It allows water to drain down inside the door and it also allows the water to stand and cause corrosion to begin forming on the parts. After three years my nice-looking stainless steel refrigerator has a large amount of corrosion all inside the dispenser area. I have a best buy extended warranty on the refrigerator and they will not fix it because they do not cover finish problems. The only way to repair the corrosion is to replace the door which is a $1200 part.

    My husband and I purchased this fridge in August. 4 months later the ice maker and water dispenser stopped working. We immediatly called Kitchenaid and they scheduled a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. In the meantime we noticed that the drip pan under the fridge was overflowing and spilled out over the pan and onto the floor creating damage to both the cabintry base around the fridge and the floor underneath. When the technicician came out he said that it was an issue he had never seen and needed to order a part that would take 2 weeks to come in (mind you we had already waited almost 2 weeks for the initial appointment). Fast forward to a few weeks after installing the part and yet again, the same thing happened. This time the water dispenser would go out randomly and come back on. We called Kitchenaid and they said they would send a tech out. They sent out the same guy who could not duplicate the problem on the spot so he procedeed to tell me basically it was our problem and he couldn't do anything. After going out several more times randomly since his visit in Feb, I called again today hoping to arrive at a better solution such as exchanging the fridge, and have once again been told that the most they can offer is to send a tech out. I would stay clear of this fridge as well as KitchenAid all together. Their customer service is HORRIBLE and the "conflict resolution manager" flat out said that they will waste more resrouces in repairing this new fridge rather than just standing behind the product and exchanging it.

    FREEZOR DOOR WIREING HARNESS BROKE ICE MAKER DEAD

    FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS IVE BEEN CALLING WHIRLPOOL AND BEST BUY TRYING TO GET WARRANTY WORK DONE ON THIS REFRIGERATOR. IT WAS DELIVERED ON NOV 15 2019. WHIRLPOOL OR BEST BUY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY ON THIS REFRIGERATOR. THIS MODEL HAS FACTORY DEFECT AT BOTTOM OF FREEZOR DOOR AS WIRES BROKE AT 8 M0. FROM DELIVERY. SO ICEMAKER WILL NOT WORK. WORST COMPANYS IVE EVER WORKED WITH. IVE SPENT CLOSE TO 50,000 DOLLARS AT BEST BUY OVER THE YEARS BUT WILL NEVER BUY A THING FROM THEM OR WHIRLPOOL AGAIN. ALSO ANYONE THAT WILL LISTEN DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE COMPANYS AS THEY ARE LIARS AND WILL NOT HONOR WARRENTIES. IVE MADE 10 PHONE CALLS AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER SEEN.

    Poor performance

    We have had continuous problems over the past 5 months that we have had this counter-depth side-by-side fridge/freezer (model KRSC503ESS). After about 2 months the appliance started making terrible noises. We had noticed that the freezer had been going through freeze thaw cycles to the extent that some of out food is completely thawed or hard as a rock. Other times the items on the top shelves of the freezer were soft and squishy and those on the bottom shelves were solidly frozen. On the refrigerator side of the appliance, ice formed behind the bottom drawers such that we were unable to open the drawers. Meanwhile, like the freezer, the items on the top shelves were barely colder than room temperature. We called a technician who came out to repair the appliance, who seemingly did so. He indicated that there was a sensor in the middle, right hand side of the fridge that needed to be un-blocked. So we re-arranged the shelving and have left that sensor with a wide berth. Since then we have continued to have temperature problems with items on the top shelves still at near room temperature (have had to throw out a lot of food), and ice forming behind the bottom drawers. I have had to remove ice behind those drawers twice now. And have since experimented by removing a bottom drawer completely in hopes that temperature balance/circulation would improve. We will either need to have a repair person come and service the unit every couple of months for the life of the product or hope that KitchenAid will replace the unit entirely with something that does work or reimburse us the cost of the appliance.

    can't seem to get one that works!

    we are on our 3rd attempt of this model since 11/17! It is beautiful, no doubt, but apparently has manufacturing quality issues. First one delivered didn't cool at all and had to be replaced. 2nd one worked great about 7 months then began having an issue with the ice/water in door...sporadically, when the ice handle was depressed, water would shoot out the water side...a messy surprise. After a couple months of this, it became constant so we had to leave a cup sitting under the water spout to avoid a mess. Geek squad guys came out 3 times, threw parts at it, then finally gave up and replaced the fridge 3 months ago...we were all hoping the 3rd time would be the charm, but alas, it was not to be. Several weeks ago we noticed vegetables were freezing in the produce drawer; cheese in the mid drawer and milk on the top shelf actually spoiled...reached out to the geek squad again only the learn they no longer service any appliance made by whirlpool (not sure where that leaves the extended warranty we purchased, but will sort that out); whirlpool sent a local company out today who said it appeared there is a malfunctioning switch; he will order and hope it comes in this week. I do love the design, look and layout of the fridge, just wish we could get one that actually WORKS!! Our fridge space was built for the dimensions of this model so we have limited options. This is pretty pitiful considering this brand is considered 'top tier'. We have a 25+ year old Amana humming along in the garage that is more impressive than this! Get it together Whirlpool!

    we have had constant issues with this model. After two repair which did not help, it has now died after less than four years. We had similar issues with a kitchen aid microwave, which lasted less than a year. We will never again buy kitchenaid.

    Cheaply made. Ice maker is nothing but a headache, beginning with wires being made too short and getting pulled apart. (You can read about this problem and what to do.)

    Decent refrigerator, nice modern look. Issues with the refrigerator drain after 6 years, the drain pan rusted, most likely because of the drain being clogged. After taking it apart it very cheaply made and I can't believe they would use a steel drain pan that would rust.
