    Terrible product / terrible customer service

    This is a terrible product. It failed the first year when a control board stopped working. It failed again outside of warranty when compressor board stopped working. Then it failed again when the replaced control board stopped working again. Even worse, KitchenAid says the part is on “back order” and can’t give me any idea when/whether the part will ever be available. So I have had a non-working refrigerator for over a month and I don’t even know whether I need to just throw it away. KitchenAid/Whirlpool just says the refrigerator is out of warranty and they can’t help me.

    Terrible fridge

    The coil in the fridge froze. Stopped cooling. All the food wasted. Called the tech and they just blew up ice using a blow drier. This happened twice! Returning now.

    Purchased KitchenAid French Door counter-depth unit KRFC704FSS. In less than six months, it has stopped working twice. Main control board and evaporator cover were replaced 4 months ago. Stopped working again and am told the repair is to replace evaporator cover once again. Each time very inconvenient, and food is lost to spoilage.

    Poorly made. Stainless is rusting.

    We have has this Refrigerator for two years and it is falling apart. The rust is everywhere. I have owned several stainless models and I have never seen this happen. I use all the right cleaning products, but it just doesn't stop. Inside shelves have cracked and the handle is constantly coming loose on the freezer. The bell chimes that the door is open when it is not. I do not have small kids or a big family but it is so disappointing to have the rust all over the front. Our sishwaher and range also have rust. Terrible KitchenAid products.

    Disappointment

    We renovated our kitchen two years ago and chose this refrigerator when we replaced all of our appliances. It’s now not working - an inverter issue they say. No parts are available after a delayed service call. Now we are looking at another two weeks minimum before repair. And the topper, we took delivery in December but installation was April so the warranty may not cover it. This is sounding like a pervasive issue but to date no recalls/repair requests have been issued that we’ve seen.

    Buyer Beware #2

    This refrigerator was plugged in for the first time on 5/15/21. It is now 5/26 and the inside is still room temperature. the motor runs 24 hours except when the door opens. This refrigerator is basically an expensive closet. Kitchenaid support is non-existent. I will never purchase another Kitchenaid appliance. (we also bought a new Kitchenaid dishwasher at the same time and water is leaking out the door)
