We ordered this fridge in September and just received it 3 days ago. Due to backorders we understood the delay. This fridge is beautifully as many have commented; yes a Cadillac just like the salesperson says in the store. However, we are returning this immediately; it's so annoyingly loud, constantly humming and high pitched; there has been a few minutes of quiet, then it starts again. It's awful.

Within two weeks of purchase, the ice maker leaked water in and outside the refrigerator. I visited Best Buy at 17 days after purchase and was told I could not exchange it for a version with the icemaker in the freezer because I was two days past my 15-day exchange period. Within a couple months the icemaker completely failed. Service has been out twice, and it is still not repaired. The entire door must now be replaced to fix the icemaker. I was told it could be a couple months before a new door is available. As an electrical engineer, I saw the cause of the original failure (wires for a heating element were held up by tape, which failed, causing the ice tray’s motion to break these now unrestrained wires). I also observed the attempted repair, which was unsuccessful because there was no practical way to replace the bad part. I lost confidence in the product. I am also tired of losing time for work every time there is a service call. I will not be willing to replace the door when the icemaker fails outside of the warrantee period. (How long will complete doors even be available as a repair part?) I again contacted Best Buy and Kitchenaid politely asking to exchange the refrigerator for a Kitchenaid model with the icemaker in the freezer. They refused. Bottom line. As an engineer I was skeptical of the complexity of the icemaker in the door of the refrigerator section, and my fears appear to be justified with this Kitchenaid model. Do not expect support from Kitchenaid or Best Buy beyond what is their written policy. Expect icemaker failures. I included a photo pointing out where the defective part plugs in, and where the wires were taped to the inside of the refidgerator. I can't help but wonder if other parts of the refidgerator are built in a similar manner.

Delivery has been delayed THREE times. I am anxious to see it.

Fridge looks great and that is about it......for a $4500 fridge, it performs poorly and as I am about to find out, cost a fortune to fix. The ice maker has never worked that great, now it doesn't work at all. Repairman is saying it is not the icemaker but possible the motherboard (1 of 2) and if it is not that, then the compressor is bad. Meaning the whole fridge is an issue.

Avoid at all costs. Had the fridge for less than 4 years and now it's dead. Compressor, Freon, you name it. Looks great but failed miserably. Unrepairable.

Wider is definitely better than deeper. Everything is visible and easily accessible. The self-closing drawers are high quality.

The fresh food area stopped cooling freezer works. Repair company stated needs control panel. Whirlpool stated they stopped manufacturing this critical part. Tried secondary market no one can get it either. Am I now out $4,500 after 2 years? Because manufacturer stopped making and selling the control panel. What recourse do I have?

This is a gorgeous refrigerator and the interior is beautifully designed. Unfortunately it has broken down 6 times in the last 3 years. And three of those times were in the last 6 months. The interior temperature gets too high and food spoils. We have given up and I won’t buy another Kitchenaid refrigerator even though the rest of my appliances are Kitchenaid. So disappointing!

Icemaker leaks water and damaged my wood floor. This is the 3rd icemaker. I wanted to return the fridge when the first icemaker failed, but I was told I was one day too late. Stuck with a lemon. I do not recommend a through the door icemaker, especially from Kitchenaid.

Spent $4k because we wanted a nice refrigerator. 5 Services calls, rude customer service and a warranty expiration later, our fancee refrigerator stopped working at <2 years old. The company's MO is to string you out until the year is up and then tell you to get bent. They know their products suck, and they aren't about to replace them. If you must buy from this brand, you better budget to buy 2 because odds are the first one won't work. And God help you if you get on the service call Merry-Go-Round.

30 days in with purchase already 2 warranty calls on fridge. Wanted to return to best buy and get new one but fridge is on back order. The fridge and freezer cooling functions have both failed. Kitchen Aid warranty service not very friendly and whatever you have in fridge/freezer is at your loss $

Please avoid this product. At the 16 month mark after installation, ice maker failed. Probably bad from the start as it was always slow to make ice and ran out often. Recommend another brand. Infinite hold at Kitchenaid service line. Very expensive repair locally at my expense. So disappointed. Please look elsewhere.

Bought this refrigerator on March 2019. Now, the refrigerator does not cool and the parts are back ordered for 3 months now. Can't believe a $4000+ refrigerator will break in 2 year! DO NOT buy this.

Constant issues with this fridge. The fridge compartment keeps icing up under the deli tray. This eventually leads to poor cooling. Repaired 3 times for this issue. Ice maker also has issues. Not acceptable for a $4k+ fridge.

Stay away! Our refrigerator has been extremely noisy since we bought it a few months ago. We had a technician look at recently with no luck.

We have received this product in 2017 and since 2020 It was leaking water underneath the drawer and back of the refrigerator. We have spent more than 800$ on a repair with an authorized Kitchen Aid repair company, and finally, they diagnosed the unit is not repairable. Now Kitchen Aid is asking us to pay an additional $3000 to exchange the unit. What a bummer! Never ever recommend this product to anyone.

Worst refrigerator I have ever purchased was a huge fan of kitchaid appliances but not anymore quality is just not there anymore will look for a different brand next time around

We got this fridge in January 2017 the ice maker already had to be replaced in June and now the entire fridge and freezer isn't working and the part is on backorder we have now been living out of coolers for a week and still have another week to wait for the part to be available not what you would expect from a new refrigerator I would not recommend this fridge to anyone it's not worth the money

The worst purchase I have ever made in my life, I regret having bought in this store that has the worst service I've ever seen, they treat you the worst and lie to you about the condition and quality of the products they sell. If you want to sleep peacefully and avoid a thousand bad moments please do not buy anything in this store.
