Leaked causing damage to our kitchen floor. Per the independent repairman this is a common problem for this brand and there's really nothing you can do to prevent it. So that's not acceptable.

We had a nice GE Profile (circa 2004) at our previous house that was also excellent. We like this one even more because it runs incredibly quiet, has a 3rd rack, adjustable height 2nd rack, and extra spouts for wine glasses/baby bottles (funny dual purpose). Cleaning and drying performance is great, as good or better than our previous excellent unit. Key feature is that it has an electrical heating element (old school but effective) that is a must for drying plastic containers. Nice big utensil tray also good and pretty sturdy racks with sensible spacing and shape. Minor gripe is that the controls could be a tiny bit easier to use. For example, when opening the door after a delay program has been set, it requires re-pushing start but seems like an unneeded extra step. Also cleaning performance on 3rd rack is only good for skinny utensils but big flat things like a spatula is not quite as good. Overall an excellent machine and highly recommended. Note: We had purchased a Bosch Ascentia originally but hated it (deal breakers were no heating element and poorly designed racks) and actually went to the trouble of uninstalling, loading it In our SUV and returning it. I may post a separate review for that unit later.

Well, it looks nice, and works well when it wants to. However, the lights flash and beep at random times, it’ll turn on on its own, and the buttons don’t always respond when I press them. It gets frustrating at times.

This machine is everything that is promised! My old machine had a terribly clunky bottom rack, silverware holders that always fell off the holder, wheels that popped off easily and then the dry cycle stopped working!
After lots of reviewing dishwashers, it seemed KitchenAid kept being at the top of the list along with Bosch. When comparing the mechanisms between the 2 side-by-side, I really thought there was no comparison! The KitchenAid racks were so much smoother and with 4 spray arms, they get everything clean. It also has all the options I need as a new mom: Bottle spraying jets on the top rack, adjustable top rack, 3rd rack for utensils so I don't have to take 1/2 my top rack for spatulas! It even has the sanitize option that I love.
When the installer Miguel was at my home, he did a tutorial on the machine so I knew how to operate it easily and when he had started it and told me it was running, I literally could not hear anything! I thought he had goofed up, but alas, when he opened the door, water was pouring down! Every cycle since has been all but muted, with me only knowing it is running by the lights in the front. It is such a huge upgrade from my Samsung dishwasher that it seems like a completely different decade of invention.
I highly recommend this machine. My first 3 loads I did a test and didn't even rinse the plates off, leaving all sauces, etc. It is myself, my husband and a 3 month old, so I only run the dishwasher once or twice a week. After the dishes sat in there and the sauces hardened, all my dishes still came out perfectly clean without any spots even.
We were going to get one generation down on this machine and glad they didn't have it! There was free install anyways on KitchenAid machines, so I was able to get a $150 more expensive model for the same price I would've had something else installed for.
I couldn't be more impressed with my new dishwasher. You have got to try this!!

There’s a reason this is a top seller (or THE top seller) at Best Buy! I haven’t had a single dish come out dirty. I’m very happy with this purchase. The racks are user friendly, the settings extremely easy, and I’ve been able to fit my family of four’s dishes in with no problems. The third rack is great too!!! It’s shallow, but great for knives you don’t want to risk putting in the lower basket and cutting yourself or the basket. I haven’t needed the bottle washer yet, but the placement of the three, are again, user friendly. I’d buy it again if I needed to!

This machine is very quiet. I would definitely recommend it if you have an open kitchen floor plan and do not want to hear to the dishwasher run. The dishwasher cleans and dries the dishes well. We have plastic cups and with the extended dry cycle it dries these cups without leaving water on them. The third rack is convenient for cooking utensils.
Cleaning time has been between 2.5 to 3 hours on the prowash or normal wash cycle. According to the owners manual this is normal because it uses less water to clean the dishes. I start the dishwasher after dinner and empty it the next morning so cycle time is not an issue for me.
The installation process through Best Buy was very smooth and they did a great job prior to installation to ensure the delivery personnel were prepared for any obstacles they had to deal with and ensure the machine would fit in the required space.

My first Kitchen Aide Dishwasher. I'm stunned at how well this dishwasher cleans, and agree with other reviewers regarding how quiet this machine operates. We had family over for Thanksgiving and everyone commented on the machines "silence" during operation. It exceeds all my expectations.
In regards to cleaning, I've always rinsed dishes thoroughly before placing in my past dishwashers. As a test, I intentionally let breakfast dishes with substantial dried egg yolk dry and harden before washing with no pre-rinsing. They came out spotless! Glasses and crystal look brilliant. Same results on all other dishes washed so far during my first two weeks of use.
The stylish design, spacious stainless steel interior and flexible wash racks and hidden controls are all great features.
Best Buy installation went smoothly. "No complaints" -- This one's a keeper for me.

The dishwasher is perhaps the quietest we have ever owned, I wish the botton rack had movable uprights that holds the dishes or at least be on a slant. The 3rd top row is great for knifes. So far, it will not clean bowls that had buleberries in them, We tried tablets and liquid. I am going back to granular powder as I did in my old one to see if that corrects the problem. It does not matter it takes 3 hours to run as it starts and stops and "soaks" the dishes. But dont worry, you can go to bed and you will NEVER here it!

Kitchenaid DW

Our Jenn-Air dishwasher had gone south slowly, so we took our time and researched options carefully. This DW was highly rated for noise level, effectiveness of cleaning/drying, ease of use, and had an awesome bottle wash feature. After having it for a month, I would say it cleans pretty well, but misses dirt unless you use the “pro wash” setting, which tends to take a long time (this is my reason for 4 stars). The bottle clean spouts clean 3 bottles quite effectively; very happy with this, as a road cyclist. Drying is great, and noise level is as good as a prior Bosch we owned in another house. All in all, I would say it doesn’t clean as well as the Bosch we previously owned, but has other features that make it a comparable option. We are happy with our purchase overall. Oh, & the exterior does NOT show fingerprints! Like, at all. Love the surface!

I chosed this dishwasher after the nice sales lady told me this is super quiet and has extra spoon, knife .. shelf on the top. It really adds a lot capacity to the dishwasher. I can put spoon, fork, knife, shop sticks on the top level shelf. It cleans much better. It also is super quiet, I have to put my ear on the door to assure it is washing. I am very satisfied and happy to make this seclection.

This is my 2nd Kitchen Aid dishwasher. The first lasted 9 years, so I’m happy with that. The fact that the replacement was only $48 more 9 years later made me even happier! The last one didn’t have a cleanable strainer, and I’d have to disassemble the guts to get to the clogged macerator screen when we would discover dishes in the top rack wouldn’t get clean. The screen would be packed solid with gunk, completely stopping any water flow to the upper spinner. As stated, the new one has the cleanable strainer which was the deciding factor when researching model features. We used the free Cascade drying liquid included and really liked the results! We never used that before, but noticed the interior and all the dishes in the top rack are completely dry at the end of the cycle. I’m sold on that stuff, too. Overall, the unit is nearly silent and cleans and dries extremely well! Very happy!

I have had the dishwasher for about 1 month now and I love it. It is super quiet, you can't even tell when it is running unless you look at the lights. This is the first one I have had with the controls on the top of the door and I like the look. This one has the outside handle, not the recessed handle, but that is no problem for me. It has plenty of room for loading all sizes of dishes. As usual, it takes a few times with the placement to determine the best way to load for your particular needs. I haven't used the bottle wash yet, but I like that it is optional and when not needed the holders fold down so they aren't in the way. I replaced a Bosch dishwasher with this one. People rave about Bosch, but I did not have a good experience with one.

We had another Kitchenaid dishwasher that died (pump assembly) after about ten years so we decided to purchase another Kitchenaid instead of going the repair route. My wife is super happy about this new dishwasher! It is amazingly quiet - literally cannot hear it running and if it did not have the blue light (washing/running), red light (drying), and white light (done) you cannot tell it is working! Best part is, it gets the job done. So, here are the pros/cons as she sees it (that's the only thing that's important, haha).
Pros: super quiet, cleans efficiently and completely (no stuck on particles, etc.), dries fully when using the extra fan option, adjustable shelves are easy to manipulate, lots of room for a day full of dishes, ProWash cleans well, ProDry ensures all dishes come out dry and do not need additional time to wipe them.
Cons: top shelf is pretty shallow and can only hold flat or nearly flat items and limits the size of glasses that can be placed on the top shelf (not sure it is worth giving up the extra rack space for this third rack), only one stemware holder (our old dishwasher had one on each side), no ProScrub cycle for super hard cleaning tasks, ProWash works great but seems to take a very long time to complete the cycle (3-4 hours is typical based on our experience), the latch that closes the unit seems to not be closed (it is almost too easy to close and my wife at times does not think it is closed and keeps pushing to hear a "click" or something to signal a secure closure).
Aside from the minor issues, the unit works great and we are pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend it.

We had a 3-year old Bosch that was recalled; we were told STOP using it until the part comes in. This was the week before Thanksgiving. Stop using a dishwasher, are you kidding? We went to Best Buy and they came through with some "help" to get us out of Bosch and into the BEST dishwasher we've ever had -- the KitchenAid 39db quiet model here. The Bosch was 44db and that was pretty quiet, but this thing is virtually SILENT. Now, that's the bonus or icing on the cake. The "cake" is the KitchenAid improves upon the cleaning of the Bosch -- which was also (we thought) very good. The KitchenAid takes dishwashing to the next level. Zero issues in about 3-weeks (including Thanksgiving) of use (insofar as the cleaning is concerned). If I am pressed to find ONE thing I'd improve, it would be to have a countdown (time remaining), instead of a blue, red & white light (blue for washing, red for drying, white for done). Frankly, this "issue" is a nit. The thing has the smoothest rack slides ever and in "pro mode" it figures out how long to run and the dishes are 99.9% totally dry -- much better than the Bosch's 90% dry mode. I don't know if there is any dishwasher that is quieter than 39db (other than one that isn't running) AND cleans better than every other dishwasher we've ever had, but if there is, I couldn't find one. Its also great that it is MADE IN THE USA, and proud of it. I can't speak to the durability of the thing, but Consumer Reports has, over the past few years, moved KitchenAid up and Bosch down. Our issue with how poorly Bosch handled the recall was what prompted us to buy now -- but the new KitchenAid is an eye-opener in every way. From the test reports, it is also more energy efficient, too. 5+ stars for KitchenAid and 5+ stars for Best Buy for helping us out in our "moment of need." Buy THIS one and you'll soon be saying "Is this thing on?"

I did a lot of research before deciding on my KitchenAid dishwasher and it was well worth it. It is very quiet and dries my dishes really well....with the exception of the tops of cups or glasses that are not flat and hold water. It is sleek looking and I love the adjustable top rack and flat utensil rack too. Perfect!

In the first place, I love having stainless steel on the inside my dishwasher. I love the 3rd rack! More room to put dishes down below and keep the little things on top. It actually cleans my dishes and glasses to a sparkling clean! I like the options on the top of the door. It has a lot of room. I like everything about this dishwasher. Oh, and it is so, so quiet! I had to put my ear down next to it to hear it running.

Old (and I mean old) dishwasher went kaput, went shopping for a new one. Looked them over with wife, kitchen aid was a tad pricier than I like, however the free installation promotion sealed the deal.
It is a very nice dishwasher, and the 3rd, top rack, is wonderful for large spoons and spatulas and knives and such. I even put a baking sheet up there that wouldn’t fit below (although it just occurred to me as I write this review that I could have adjusted the middle rack....oh well).
When they advertise these things as quiet....they are not joking! So quiet we occasionally make sure it’s on.

This dishwasher costs slightly more then similar models but the dB rating and extra features are more then worth the price.
We remodeled and turned our living room/kitchen into one space. Our dishwasher is at the end of an island, 7 feet from our living room couch so the 39dB was a huge factor. It is nearly silent, the LED indicator light is probably more noticeable then the noise. The normal wash cycles clean okay and are probably on par for other dishwashers but the pro wash and pro dry features set this unit apart. When using this feature, dishes come out spotless (with out pre-washing) and completely dry. The trade off is the duration of the cycle but it's a non factor if you let it run over night. The third rack is excellent bonus space but the bottle washers don't allow enough room for our water bottles to fit onto and should have been designed on the bottom rack.
