Replacement for older model. Still learning how to load for more dishes

First, the dishwasher: As others have mentioned, this dishwasher is very quiet. So quiet that I've bent over and put my ear next to it to make sure it was running (it was). It gets the dishes clean and dry with no spots or streaks. Cycle times are long. 2 1/2 hours just for a normal wash and dry with no options. Over three hours for other cycles and options. All dishwashwer manufacturers these days seem to focus on how many "place settings" you can get into the dishwasher. They seem to have not given much consideration to the pots and pans and utensils that go along with making a meal. Next, the install: When we bought this dishwasher in the Best Buy store, I asked what the $29.99 "installation kit" that they added to my order was. The salesman said it was a hose to hookup the water supply and a cord to plug it in the wall. I told him that my dishwaser was direct wired to my house and was connected to the water via copper tubing and that I wanted my new dishwasher installed the same way. No problem, he said, and he deleted the "installation kit". When they arrived to install my new dishwasher the installer asked if I had the installation kit. I explained the situation to him and he replied that they're "not allowed" to install it the way I wanted it done. I called the store and spoke to the salesman. Long story short, the salesman made a mistake and admitted he did, in that they will only install a dishwasher using a hose (which, BTW, needs to be replaced every five years) and a plug-in cord. The bottom line was, the salesman made a promise to the customer that he could not keep and Best Buy refused to make things right. I suggested they hire a plumber to do the install. They refused. I suggested I hire a plumber to do the work and Best Buy could reimburse me. They refused. In fact, they outright refused to do anythingn at all to make it right and too bad for me. I installed the dishwasher myself. Finally, KitchenAid support: A "condensed User Guide" is provided with the dishwasher. It directs you to a URL to obtain the "Complete User Instructions". The URL is broken (HTTP Error 404 - Not Found). I called the 800 support number. After 30 minutes on hold the woman was unable to locate the "Complete User Instructions". Too bad for me. Then I asked her why there was a single blinking light on the front of my dishwasher. She had no idea and put me on hold while she tried to find out. After 20 minutes on hold, I hung up. To wrap this up, I won't be shopping at Best Buy again and I probably won't buy a KitchenAid appliance again.

This dishwasher is amazing. It cleans and dries very well.

Occasional plate not clean. Controls can be a bit redundant

We got our dishwasher & it was a fail. I unpacked it once we got it home & it was leaking water. Not sure how it happened, but we returned it to the store the next day. I can’t honestly say how good the dishwasher is as we went with a different brand from another store.

Have had Kitchen Aids for many years. Working great

I buy a lot of things from Best Buy but this was disappointing. It is quiet and looks nice but this rinse aid dispenser didn’t work. Pretty shocking for 1k dollars. Service was fine getting it fixed but come on.

We originally ordered a Maytag Appliance Dishwasher that was delivered and installed on July 13, 2019. That unit was replaced twice by best buy due to dents and problems and was finally uninstalled on September 19, 2019. We then upgraded to a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher (this product) that was delivered on September 26, 2019 hoping a higher quality (more expensive) unit would have less problems. With the new Kitchen Aid Dishwasher, we noticed there were problems with the dishes-- they were not coming out clean. We attempted changing how we do dishes, changed our detergent, had a plumber run a water test (at our own expense), and there were still problems. We then began to contact the Best Buy repair people to see what could be done. We had people come to the house on October 31, 2019 (Rob) who replaced a dispenser that was leaking, November 23, 2019 (Mike) who replaced the dispenser unit that was again leaking, November 27, 2019 (Shane) who called Whirlpool support who said that it was because we were on well water and there was no way to fix the problem. Each visit and follow up visit required someone from the family to coordinate with Best Buy and to be home in order to meet with the service people. Without a resolution (a dishwasher that cleans our dishes completely), we continued to place several calls to the Best Buy team to try to resolve the issue. After so long without a resolution and still having a dishwasher that is broken, we've decided to post this review. It now appears that we are stuck with a dishwasher that still does not clean dishes correctly and no support from the store. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

The washer motor went out 2 years after I purchased it. The repair would be $550 Very disappointed. I wish I had bought an extended warranty. For such an expensive dishwasher, it sure did not last.

I purchased this particular dishwasher because of the free installation offer and I have always been happy with my Best Buy purchases. I bought completely online, followed the instructions and come delivery day Geek Squad refused to install. I ultimately had to make arrangements to install myself (with some help). I contacted customer service and never got a call back. I sent a message to Best Buy support on twitter with no reply. I took the follow up survey and requested a call but none came. Really disappointing and frustrating. Perhaps others will have a better experience but this Elite Plus member will be looking towards Home Depot and Lowes for my future appliance purchases. Also, this is a better than average dishwasher but the utensil tray is a weird design and takes up a lot of space.

This dishwasher was terrible. It never cleaned properly. It was initially installed incorrectly by Best Buy, but after many many repairs, it still never worked and I begged Best Buy for a replacement under my warranty. They finally did it. In the meantime, the price had dropped (I wonder why...). So, I got less money back to spend on the new machine, but thank goodness that thing is gone!!

Purchased and installed through Best Buy in Feb 2020. It has worked like a charm since day one. It cleans well, runs quietly and we have had no issues since. I would definitely recommend.

Cleaned very well and was quiet, but not reliable longterm. At year three we had to replace a bunch of the plastic parts which adjust the height of the upper rack, which was covered under the extended warranty we purchased. A year later, just one month after the extended warranty expired, the whole dishwasher died. Faulty pump/motor assembly. VERY disappointed in the short life of such an expensive KitchenAid dishwasher!

Like many, I read over 100 reviews of numerous dishwashers before buying this one. We love it! So many options from quick wash to power wash, easy to select your choice, quiet,sleek and so easy to wipe off the fingerprints that do show. Admittedly, my search began with a few that were priced lower, but when I factored in the "free installation " from Kitchenaid, and consider the great reviews, I know now that the few extra dollars were worth! You'll be very happy in all respects with this unit. (We kind of miss the handle of our old dishwasher to hang the dishtowel on, but the sleekness of the recessed handle is worth the trade off.)
