Even though I purchased the service plan through Best Buy, I needed to contact Kitchen Aid for maintenance because the appliance was less than a month old. The service technician is scheduled two weeks out. We are still waiting for service.

My 20 year old Whirlpool dishwasher cleaned better and the racks were designed better. The bottom rack sucks has big open area in middle for pans and way to low.

We have had to call for service twice when the dishwasher has overfilled and flooded the floor. Both times, the technician has not been able to determine the cause of the overfill as the machine does not save error codes once unplugged. Per the manual, you have to unplug the machine after this error and call for service. Since the technician cannot determine a reason for the overfill error, Whirlpool denies covering the service visit. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Whirlpool today trying to get the visit covered but they refuse even though it is under warranty. The technician had to come reset the dishwasher so it could be used again so we had no choice about calling for service. Very disappointing that Whirlpool (who owns Kitchenaid) provides such horrible warranty service. Buyer beware! Since this is a recurring issue for overfilling and flooding the floor twice in less than a year I would not recommend this dishwasher.
