Failed in less than 4 years

It lasted less than 4 years, which is absurdly short for a dishwasher like this. Very disappointing for a KitchenAid. It started to leak and the touch panel malfunctioned so the dishwasher could not be operated normally anymore. It cleans "ok" - on a par with the Kenmore it replaced. It did not dry well at all even on extra dry settings. All this quite consistent with Consumer Reports findings. Attempting to repair was not cost effective so we opted to replace (with a new dishwasher other than KitchenAid).

Poor quality expensive dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite the high price tag, the control panel stopped working just after 4 years of use and had to be replaced, after which the dishwasher worked another 4 years and all the holders started to break and the dishwasher had to be thrown out. Do not buy!

Silverware falls over and knives don't fit in designated spots and I have standard size silverware. Dishes fall over in 1st and 2nd racks also. It cleans well but I would never buy this one again.

Blown circulation pump and motor less than 2 years

We are a retired couple who ran this dishwasher about 2-3 times per week following all cleaning and regular maintenance guidelines. On-line blogs indicate others had the same problem we had. Cost of circulation motor and pump is $299, $109 for service call plus time for installation. $580 for repairs to a dishwasher that was purchased for $899. Do your homework on these models and read the blogs by owners before you purchase one of these units.
