We replaced this with a Maytag that was over 15 years old. The Maytag was excellent until broke. Appliances are not made how they used to make them. This was does the job. It take over an hour for one cycle. You must use the RinseAid and I believe the liquid cascade is better than the pod for this machine.

There is one good feature, it’s very quiet. This unit takes 6-7 hours to do a load, doesn’t clean utensils well and extended dry leaves puddles on top of coffee cups. Hope KitchenAid is paying attention.

Not as good as my Maytag

I had a Maytag and it was AWESOME ... this KitchenAid holds more, BUT it doesn't get dishes as clean. I'd give up the extra space for less work before loading the dishes in the dishwasher.

It deals with the limitations imposed by the federal government well, not sacrificing cleaning and being as fast as any other under the current federal rules. We installed it ourselves with no difficulty.

I gave it only 4 stars though because it does not dry as well as the KitchenAid I replaced even with the extended dry cycle. The normal cycle is a bit long. I also find the rinse aid full indicator difficult to read.
