We had purchased same washer in our pior home less than 2 years ago. My wife saw washer that was here said "we are going to Best Buy now to replace it". It is that good!

It replaced a 25 year old GE that was very reliable. Never owned a Kitchen Aide, but after much research and reading through numerous ratings I felt confident in selecting Kitchen Aide. So far it passed the trial test of two cycles making sure it was functioning correctly. It is very quiet while running.

Unfortunately, it is actually louder than our old dishes, but not overly so. The dishwasher does work well.

noisy beyond expectation

Two noises: a pump hum throughout cycle that is too loud. Second, during an early part of the washing there is a whine that is at a harmonic that vibrates in my teeth. If we run it at night, this harmonic will wake me.

It constantly throws errors, requiring me to unload the machine, drain the water, and reset it just to get it running again. Now it has developed a strong electronic burning smell — a clear FIRE HAZARD. Best Buy hasn’t been helpful at all. They want to charge a $129.99 diagnostic fee, and repairs would be extra. At that point, the total cost would be close to buying a new machine. This is unacceptable. A dishwasher should not fail in just two years. Really disappointed in KitchenAid and the overall experience. I strongly advise against this product.
