A great dishwasher but only for 3 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchaesd this dishwasher in 2020 and it was a great dishwasher for 3 years. Tons of room with the third rack and did a good job of cleaning dishes. Then in November 2023 we got the dreaded E1F9 error code (google it as it is a known problem with these). Booked an appointment for repair and upon the service repair inspection found out the motor was out. It was going to be a $600 repair so we are going to look for a different brand next go around as a dishwasher this expensive should not fail after 3 years of use.

Disappointing Decline in KitchenAid's Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our encounter with KitchenAid's subpar product quality has proven to be a source of disappointment, frustration, and financial strain. Since the acquisition by Whirlpool, the once-reliable KitchenAid brand has witnessed a significant decline in quality, departing from its legacy of producing durable goods. Within a year, the sleek Pocket handle of our KitchenAid dishwasher broke. When we sought assistance from KitchenAid, they routed us to their contracted service technician. Moreover, the replacement parts provided were mere OEM components. We contacted multiple KitchenAid-recommended technicians, as we were met with widely disparate estimates ranging from $50 to $200, in addition to varying visiting charges to fix the handle. When we shared our feedback with KitchenAid, they claimed helplessness, asserting that service providers were free to set prices for OEM parts. To add insult to injury, KitchenAid offered a 20% discount on future purchases as compensation for our ordeal. Consequently, we were compelled to spend over $400 to rectify an issue with a dishwasher that originally cost just over $1000. Ultimately, we opted for a local service provider who efficiently addressed the problem for under $100. Needless to say, we declined KitchenAid's one-time offer of a 20% discount on future appliance purchases. Our Samsung dishwasher, which was notably more affordable, endured much longer without any complications.

installer not the best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dishwasher works fine. Only complaint is on the installer. Was offered free installation with purchase of dishwasher. When installer arrived, half way through the install he says that my shut-off valve is not the right size to accept the new 3/8" compression line due to my valve was a 1/2" compression line for the old dishwasher. He quoted me $120.00 to install a new valve. A 2 minute job and a $10.00 part. If I had one I would of changed it myself but I was at a disadvantage due to he could not finish the install. I let him do the replacement but I feel I got taken advantaged of. When he was finished I had to have him re-position the new dishwasher in the opening because it was not centered in the opening of the cabinet. And the company says their installers are approved and certified. Mine wasn't.

Broke after 3years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an expensive dishwasher and i would love to leave a good review however our dishwasher has broken after just 3 years of use. I will not buy anything from kitchenaid again as their support was absolutely horrible. The minimum cost to fix was $500 and Kitchenaid thinks this is acceptable based on the fact that when we called we were told dishwashers are only supposed to last 5 years. That is insane for a $1300 dishwasher and embarrassing for a company that touts their quality. Truly disappointed with our experience with Kitchenaid and i would recommend staying away from their appliances.

Made by Whirlpool.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quite while running, noisy ( buzzy) when filling or draining, which is about 15% of the cycle. $999 sale price, with free installation cost $1340 with taking old one away, delivery, installation kit and a $7 shut-off that had to be replaced for $125 or they would not install the dishwasher.

Good for 4 years. Then breaks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gave me 4 good years . . . but then quit working. 3 repair men said to replace it, the motor of this model is literally "delicate" and very prone to breaking.

Great until you get the E1 F9 errors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this unit Nov 2021 because there was nothing else in stock. For the first 2.5 years, it ran perfectly fine, very quiet, but didn’t use it daily, perhaps 3x a week. Last month, started getting E1 F9 error during the wash cycle, but sporadically. Wouldn’t drain, had to shutoff at breaker box to reboot the unit. And you still have to rinse/dry your dishes. Check the internet for more info from other owners, that’s a sign you’ve got problems with pump(s), control board(s), or both. Lots of owners had issues after 2 years (MTTF). My tech had to get new pump(s), new control board(s), and because it has a slight leak on lower left corner, a new gasket(?). Still cheaper than buying a new unit, but be advised.

Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The biggest issue is after 3 years, it no longer works! For the price, it is not worth this device. I called Kitchenaid about repairing the machine and it will cost me hundreds just to repair. Save yourself some money and find one with better warrantee and customer service.

KitchenAid Dishwasher a dud
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Machine cleans nice, when it works. At about a year it started giving e1, f9. In that year, I rarely used the dishwasher - at most, Called Best Buy for service via Total Tech and was informed they don’t have a repair tech to work on my KitchenAid. These days it seems a lot of customer service and products mirror the same reflection …lackadaisical and shoddy. I have a repair tech coming to fix my dishwasher and Best Buy should reimburse me for 20% of the bill. They should have offered because it was the right thing to do. **************************

Bad product and bad service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this dishwasher 4/2018...I thought buying a Kitchenaid I was getting a stand up reliable appliance. The first year the dishwasher was good...however it never really got my entire load clean. Most items came out clean, but there was always 1-2-3 items left with food stuck...I used many different cleaners to fix these, I also cleaned the dishwasher monthly. After about a year the problem just got worse. Last week I noticed almost nothing was getting clean. I checked the drain hose to see if it was blocked, I cleaned the filer (Like i did monthly), nothing. I had a service man come out and he confirmed the motor went out. I pair over $1000 for this dishwasher and after a little more than two years the main component went out. I have been trying for three days not to find a human to talk to to get help with this with no lick. I went to the Kitchenaid official site- the hold time os over an hour, and when I go to live cha, you g et nothing more than virtual help, which was no help at all. I tried to call BestBuy and thats just as bad. 75 minute waits times. So i pretended I wanted to purchase a new dishwasher.....low and behold....HELP was there. I will never purchase a Kitchenaid appliance again and I may never purchase from BestBuy either.....

Noisy Dishwasher - Beware Best Buy Exchange Policy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not quiet. You will hear a loud hissing noise (think tea pot on a stove) when this dishwasher is running. Also, beware of the Best Buy Exchange process for appliances - it is not hassle free. I have been trying to exchange for a Bosch over the past few weeks without success in coordinating the appliance exchange. In my most recent conversation with company representatives, I was informed that in order to process the exchange I have to coordinate 3 separate appointments - 1 to uninstall the dishwasher, 1 to deliver my Bosch and return the Kitchenaid, and 1 to install the new Bosch. In summary, this dishwasher cleans well if you can get past the loud hissing noise you will hear. Beware of the Best Buy Exchange Policy as they will not accommodate a replacement in one appointment.

Buy this if you want something disposable.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this dishwasher as part of a new home construction. (I thought) I had done my research and found dependable appliances. With COVID happening I had the foresight to make things easier on everybody involved and paid for this purchase on 11/30/20. We didn't take delivery until 12/20/21 when our home was ready for the installation. We didn't actually move in and start using the dishwasher until 5/28/22. Within SEVEN MONTHS the circulation pump was making noise on the way to failing. Today I spoke to KitchenAid, who told me they wouldn't stand behind this item because their warranty clock starts at day of purchase. The independent repair technician told me today that the pumps on KitchenAid dishwashers fail often. I now have the choice of $480 to replace the pump module on an appliance with a bad reputation, or find a different dishwasher that will last more than 7 months of use. Looks like I'll be correcting an expensive mistake and go back to Bosch.

Unreliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After just 3 years of use, we started getting error codes regularly. Service technician said it was a bad computer board and would cost 950 to replace. Obviously not worth it. And since it’s only a 2 year warranty, I have to go buy a new machine after just 3 years. I can promise you it won’t be a KitchenAid.
