I had a friend with the same one warn me that they are “unreliable” but I bought it anyway, because hey, warranty! I got the extra protection from Best Buy. 5 months in, has already broken twice. The first time my husband was able to fix it. The second time, no. I called Best Buy, but since it’s less than a year old it should be covered under KitchenAid’s warranty. Call Kitchenaid: 2 hours on hold to be told to schedule an appointment online. First appointment available: 2 weeks later. A dude (obviously not a Kitchenaid employee, but their company they outsource repairs to) comes in for 45 seconds and says it’s a pump he needs to order that “could take up to 2 months.” What?! I call a local company that fixed it in 48 hours, at my own expense. All to say, Kitchenaid and their warranty absolutely suck and I will be avoiding their appliances for the rest of my days.

Don’t buy Kitchenaid if you want it to last!

When purchased I had odd noises from the motor and was told its “normal” by customer service. It went away and that lead up to now. My dishwasher stopped runnthe wash cycle. No help from customer servcie as its outside the 1 year warranty. Tore it out and pulled off the circulation pump to find the self cleaning poorly designed filter completed shredded. It also sent pieces into the circulation pump seizing it. Do yourself a favor and look at Bosch or LG.
