Great refrigerator, everything I needed. KitchenAid products are must buy.

The problem started 2 weeks after purchase date of June 23, 2020 and continues to date. Water leaks from the ice maker and gets trapped in the ice dispenser hold. This leads to a layer of freezing water in the ice compartment along with water trails on the inside and outside of the ice maker door. The Kitchen Aid solution is to send a service company out to look at the problem, order parts, reschedule another appointment and then come back to replace the part/piece. This service company has come to my house EIGHT times since June 23, 2020. Four times to diagnose, four more times to replace a part/piece. After each replacement the problem reoccurs. Service company has been on the line with Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool ‘technicians’ during the last few visits and the service company is doing what the Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool technicians are suggesting. The Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool technicians are reporting that their ‘engineers’ are working on a solution. Yet the issue still exists. The simple conclusion is there is an engineering problem with the ice maker location, ice maker and the ice holding compartment that can not be fixed. If it could be fixed then the Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool technicians would know how to fix it after so many opportunities. So here in my house is a refrigerator that can’t be fixed and the response from Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool is to keep sending techs out to waste my time and the serviceman’s time while they take no responsibility and offer no viable solution. This purchase has been a complete disappointment.

Nightmare. First the delivery company was horribly rude, tore up our grass, would not install because our water line was plastic. I ended up having to call my plumber and pay him to install the refrigerator. I paid his service call fee of $125 for him to literally take the water tube and plug into fridge and move into place. Five months after owning and right during shutdown I stocked up on over $500 worth of meat to find the icemaker shutdown one day to next morning refrigerator blowing warm air and everything melted and a huge mess of runny ice cream and blood dripping down the freezer drawers. This has happened three more times with this unit and now the icemaker stopped working for the 4th time ... and I know next will be the refrigerator and freezer ... and I was told the tubing has been welded so many times the refrigerator can no longer be repaired. Best Buy washed their hands of me long ago, and fortunately Kitchenaid is replacing my unit, but after losing all my freezer items three times I am out over $1,000 worth of food and will never purchase anything from Best Buy again.

At first this refrigerator worked great, it ought to seeing the price of this thing. Not more than two months later however it came to our attention that the ice maker had stopped working. I wish to say that this would be the only time that this issue came up, but unfortunately even after fixing, the ice maker continued to break again and again. To make matters worse, the refrigerator stopped cooling things inside of it, again, an issue that has come up many times even after fixing.

Stay away from purchasing this refrigerator. We bought ours 6 months ago it started making a humming sound intermittently then it stopped working. I called Whirlpool they had a technician come through a 3rd party come 2 weeks later only to tell me it’s a very common problem with the compressor on this model. He has to order a part took another 2 weeks finally came to fix said it’s 50/50 if it breaks again. Guess what? 2 weeks later it’s not working again same issue with compressor. If Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid was a quality company they would replace the entire unit, but the solution is to wait another week to try and fix. I’m regretting I paid 3k for this refrigerator I am suggesting you don’t make the same mistake.

Excellent refrigerator.quality shows, energy efficient

I bought my first Kitchen Aid refrigerator in March of 2019, this refrigerator has had to be replaced at least 6 times for various reasons since then. The refrigerator leaked on one, the LED lights in the freezer went out on two refrigerators and couldn’t be fixed, the ice maker quit making ice on one and they replaced it only to have the ice maker go out again. They came out and replaced the freezer and as of today (September 29, 2021), my freezer is no longer working. I am so frustrated and disappointed with kitchen aid and their customer support service. If we hadn’t bought the kitchen aid dishwasher I would get rid of kitchen aid all together!!!!

BUYER BEWARE! This is the worst refrigerator in the world. It is my biggest regret. I have been without a working refrigerator for 42 days now. After calling KitchenAid's certified repairman to repair interior lights that have never worked properly in 3 and a half year and an ice maker that does not work, the entire fridge stopped cooling. Apparently the parts are on backorder with no delivery date in sight. 42 days. I hate this refrigerator so much I will NEVER buy from KitchenAid again!!!

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. After 5 years, my Kitchen Aid failed to work for no apparent reason. The refrigerator would never get cooler than 52 degrees. Ice would build up along the back of the unit to a point where I could no longer shut the temp control drawer. Repairman said this was not uncommon for these poorly designed, poor quality units. KA Customer service a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. I never had a company so unwilling to help a customer. Wait, ask a bunch of questions and then give you information worse than what is in the manual...which says a lot because instructions are poor. I would never buy a Kitchen Aid again. Again, my unit FAILED after 5 years. Cost over $2,700

The first icing issue happened about a year after delivery. The evaporator cool was covered in a block of ice. It happened again a few months later. Now there is little cooling in the top or bottom. Nothing is iced up. I called for factory service. After waiting for a week, the service guy said it needs a new compressor and evaporator cool. ( think heart transplant) The parts are in and I get to wait another week for the service company to come back out. Now I'm reading about 2 Class Action suits against Whirlpool regarding these refrigerators. Poor Cooling and Water Leaks. We have had the thing for less than 2 years. I don't trust it to last. Not worth the hassle.

Like the experience of many others, the one I purchased has a problem with ice forming in the back. A very thick layer forms over time and blocks the cold air flow. The refrigerator then begins to warm up inside. You call the company for repair. A person comes our and moves the thermocouple. A couple of months later the same thing happens. This time the person who comes to fix it says you need to unplug it for several days and leave the doors open. Super inconvenient. They replace the fan. Then several months later, the refrigerator starts warming up because the back is full of ice again. The Tech comes out and tells you you need to unplug and leave the doors open. Once again, super inconvenient. The Tech replaces more things. Then, a couple of months later, the refrigerator starts warming up. You are then on a 2 hour hold with the warranty company that keeps getting longer.... Save yourself the trouble and buy a refrigerator that isn't plagued with manufacturing defects.

Had this about a month. Now looking for repair as the ice maker is not working properly. There is water being discharged so that the container is frozen to the bottom and the door is frozen so that it is hard to open.

Refrigerator compressor stopped working 3 months after perches. Turned out this model uses R600 refrigerant, a product few are able to work on. Took manufacturer almost 2 weeks to fined someone to come out and look at it. Needs a new compressor that is on back order for 6 weeks. We now have a 3000$ box sitting in are living room for an unknown amount of time. World pool refused to compensate us for are food loss. Just bad all around. Also Bestbuy refused to help us as well.

I have owned the previous model of this KitchenAid refrigerator and was pleased with it. However, this current version of the model makes all sorts of noises - the most annoying being a loud clicking sound that occurs hourly for 10-15 minutes. I have spoken with KitchenAid reps with no resolution (they and even the manual says the noises are "normal."). Please do yourself a favor and look for another refrigerator!

On September 20th I purchased a Kitchenaid refrigerator. The delivery was confirmed for November 30th. On the morning of the delivery day I called Best Buy twice and they confirmed that the truck was on the street with the order. That evening no refrigerator was delivered so I called again and they told me that the refrigerator was out of stock and could I reschedule it for January 18th 2025. I declined and they said they could refund my money as there was nothing they could do. Be careful, they can work with your money, not deliver the product and simply refund the amount to you 40 days later. Very frustrating to wait so long and simply not get what you ordered!

DO NOT BUY!! Although nice looking & spatially well designed, this refrigerator has given us chronic problems (wasn't cooling; problems with the ice maker & leak from the freezer), 3 months after purchase. The most persistent problem that continues 6 years after purchase is the leak from the freezer. Kitchen Aid does not stand behind their product & will not give you the time of day if your warranty expires. You get what you pay for! Will NEVER buy a Kitchen Aid refrigerator ever again.

I would give a 0 if I could. I don’t normally post this kind of stuff but I’m at a loss. Never buy a kitchenaid fridge because they are not willing to fix a recurring issue. My fridge has gone out the exact same way 4x every 6-7 months in the 29 months (for 5 months it was waiting for repair) I have owned it. People have come out to “fix” it 3x but because it breaks outside of 90 days it is deemed a new issue and that it had been fixed. I have had 4 motherboards, 4 user interfaces, 1 capacitor, 1 fan and 1 DEV replaced and it’s out again and kitchenaid told me they could offer me a discount on a new kitchenaid appliance, I could buy extended coverage for 42.10/month for 12 months or pay the appliance repair people to come out again to diagnose the problem and will cover certain portions under 5 year limited warranty. I am blown away that they care so little about their customers and that they find this acceptable.

This this is pretty cool if you ask me! It has three doors and stays cool!

Best purchase I have ever made. Glad I waited to make the purchase.
