    Dont buy KitchenAid

    This is our second KitchenAid refrigerator. The first one didn't make it 6 years. This one will not cool below 40 degrees and is so loud its ridiculous. 2 months old do I want to start the repair cycle I thought I just ended? Dont buy this brand - you will be sorry. But the ice maker works ...

    Truly Disappointed - poor dependability!!!

    I purchased this fridge on 1/20/19. The first two units that BB brought out were damaged. The 3rd fridge was beautiful with no noticeable flaws. Approximately 6 months ago, the refrigerator stopped cooling and the in-door ice maker stopped working. It took about a week for a repairman to come to my home. After diagnosing the problem, he did not have apart and had to order it to be sent to my house - another week of waiting. Because the entire unit had to be shut off and allowed to 'completely defrost', this meant that I had to remove EVERYTHING from my fridge and FREEZER and store it on dry ice (about $15/block). After the burned out small part was replaced, I had to wait for the unit to cool down. I was without the use of my fridge for over 2 weeks. Fast forward to now...3 days ago, the same issue. The refrigerator has stopped cooling properly (at about 60 degrees) so I have a couple of blocks of dry ice in there so I can at least have a couple of items in the house to eat. The ice maker works sometimes, due to the dry ice cooling the fridge unit down to about 55 degrees. After the initial factory warranty repair, I have since gone into extended warranty and am working now with Geek Squad. It took me 1 hour on the phone to connect to GS; I called again yesterday and was on the phone another hour waiting for GS to answer. I am disgusted with this unit! Wondering if I should just plan on being without a refrigerator for a couple of weeks every six months. I gave the refrigerator 2 stars because it is a really nicely designed unit with all the features that I was looking for. 2 stars for design and beauty; 0 stars for dependability!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Don't know what the resolution will be, but I want a new refrigerator!

    Two time failure

    Put the first unit into service in January 2022. If failed (stopped cooling) by October 22. Melting freezer and ice warped hardwood floors in brand new home. Best Buy rep was awesome and replaced the unit, free of charge. March 2024, replacement fridge had the same problem. Waiting on Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) authorized repair contractor to come today to diagnose the problem. Two in a row seems more like a problem with this model KRFF507HPS03 than a isolated occurence. We love the look. Very disappointed in the reliability.

    Do not buy KitchenAid / whirlpool refrigerator

    It’s nothing but the problem started a year after I bought. I bought it 2019 Bestbuy reported that they sold in 2018. I bought 3 year extended warranty directly from Kithenaid. I had to call for repair at least 5 times with all different problems. End of 3 year contract, it shut down again. This time power shut down on and off. 3 hours before tech came power came on and tech can’t do anything. After tech left 3 hours later it shut down again. I think even 3rd world countries can make better refrigerators than Whirlpool. They just look good to sell. Whoever gave good ratings they have to wait a little the problem will start around a year later. I had same good feeling as well when I got it .

    Bad fridge

    We had to repair sensors 3 times since we bought and the computer. Horrible experience!DO NOT buy

    Compressor went out customer service trash

    Compressor went out. Part is on back order. Have been without a fridge for 11 days now and apparently need to wait an extra 14 to see if they can locate the compressor. After that, they will ship compressor to contractor to fix it. The contractor was supposed to show up to diagnose Jan 2nd. It is Jan 10th today and he has not showed up. Have called customer service multiple times they say there’s nothing they can do .

    Save your money - buy purpose

    Had this for 5 years and it’s completely broken, have to get new fridge. We have needed to repair it at least 3 time’s before as well, most likely more. This included weeks/months of workers working on it as well. 4th time broken and we need a new one. Very frustrating, especially as the fridge before lasted more than a decade! Please save your self and buy a fridge for purpose and do not look for quality. Awful experience, good lesson.

    Led light stop working

    I brought this refrigerator on 09/2019 and today the freezer light just stopped working. I am so disappointed like seriously it’s only year and the led light stopped working. I am still paying off this refrigerator, this is really frustrating.

    LED Lights have yearly outages

    Chronic led light failures. One per year. Offered no remedy. Freezer light is the most common. Requires spending 100 per year on light replacement

    Dead after only 4 years and 4 months

    Sadly, this POJ (piece of junk) VERY EXPENSIVE refrigerator cashed in it's chips in the worst way ... no parts and no servicer to fix it. Wow, I would certainly expect better from KitchenAid!!! Beware if you're considering buying a new KitchenAid as the "repair sites" look it up for yourself, are saying to STAY AWAY. Engineering flaws and poor quality. Loved it when it did work though. Now have been using the garage fridge as the kitchen fridge .... but hey, it's good for getting more steps in .... if that's what you want lol.
