Avoid this Cooktop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cooktop is beautiful out of the box BUT there are several very frustrating issues which make it truly terrible. For starters, the temperature control knobs are very close to the bottom burners so they heat up when in use. If you're not careful you'll burn your hand when shutting the burner off. There's not much to a cooktop, how could the designers have overlooked this basic safely issue? Next, the stainless steel is more like tin foil. It's a very light gauge (unlike my KA refrigerator) and scratches if you breathe on it. We barely cook and our shiny beautiful new cooktop was covered with fine scratches within a few weeks. I tried several different techniques to remove the scratches and they don't come out. Oh, and that awesomely powerful center dual ring burner? Yeah, it doesn't come off (easily) for cleaning. And if you get it off (with a screwdriver) you'll notice it gets filthy and the stains do not come off. Next and probably the BIGGEST complaint...the metal burner heads under the burner caps discolor and show black spots after a few uses. It looks sooo bad. How can you design a gas cooktop with metal components that can't handle heat from a flame??? Seriously. I thought I got a bad batch of heads and spent $200 on new ones and the same thing happened. It's beyond maddening. Lastly, the rings around the temperature control knobs are fitted with cheap glue. 3 of 5 have come undone and I had to glue them back in place. I'm a loyal multi-generational Kitchen Aid customer and THIS cooktop is not deserving of the name. If anyone from KA is listening, please help end this nightmare.

Sub par
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cook top looks very nice.. But you can't use an oblong pancake griddle on it. All the burners are different sizes. The center pasta burner is very hot should be used for boiling water only. The controls are in a strange place too, if you are using a frying pan on the front burners, it feels like the controls are too close and feel like I'll get burned. I can't return it now unfortunately..

Almost perfect...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the look and ease of installation. Bit frustrated that burners don't heat evenly (e.g. more flames on one side versus other). Hoping it is a matter of "burn in" and will rectify.

Design Flaw - Knobs burning hot cause grates sit h
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We really wanted to keep this cooktop because we bought two oven s and our dishwasher but there is a huge design flaw. When I cooked on it for the first time on the larger front burner when I went to lower the temperature my fingers were burned from touching the knob. Nothing to serious but I had to use an oven mitt to turn it off. Best buy said maybe that one was defective and offered to switch it out but the 2nd one had the same issue. The grate sits way to high and even when a pan is not on the burner the knobs get hot but you can't touch them when you try and cook something. So unfortunate because now we have to go with another brand.

Wanted to love everything about it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It takes forever to boil anything. Don't always want to use the middle burner for that. Also, for the price of this oven, you'd think the digital display panel could have a back-light option so you can see what you're doing without having to turn on a light -- even during the day!

Low BTU
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice looking cooktop. Knobs have heft, grates are well built and stainless finish seems scratch resistant however I should have looked more closely at the btu’s for each burner. I just assumed Kitchenaid would only make a high heat cooktop. It takes forever to cook using all burners except for the center. If you’re used to having a high number for btu’s that can boil a pot of water in less than 20 minutes keep searching. If you’re only into looks this one checks the box.

Great if you dont plan on cooking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks great but the grates are too high from flame. The center burners is only one that can even think about boiling water. This a horrible design flaw. We thought about cutting the 1/2" feet off but why? Praying we can return. Yes we have plenty of gas pressure as we had to run a direct gas line to the cooktop.

KitchenAid service one start
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave one star for KitchenAid service. This is very nice cooktop and we love it. BUT there are these rubber pads under the grate that if you loose one, KitchenAid don't sell them and saying you have to buy a new grate that costs more than 200$. I didn't expect such service from the KitchenAid, when they supposed to keep parts.

Best buy charges about $200 to restock the item
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best buy charged me $182 to restock the item. I thought item was ok, but because best buy didn't have the items in store to to formulate a real opinion, you have to order it to see if it's everything you want.
