Customers are saying
Customers are delighted by the 36" Gas Cooktop's ease of use, five burner configuration, and excellent performance. Many appreciate the powerful downdraft feature and the cooktop's attractive design. While some users noted minor drawbacks with flame control and the susceptibility of the stainless steel to scratches, the positive feedback significantly outweighs the negative. Overall, the cooktop is praised for its functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Cooktop
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kichen Ald Gas Stainless Steel Cooktop does a decent job of cooking, however it is hard to clean and the product gets scratched up too easily.

Horrible Best Buy experience.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After months of waiting after paying thousands upfront, nothing was installed. When your installers showed up to take measurements and had to ask me to borrow a tape measure, I should have known this was going to be a disaster. What a waste of time.

Strong Performer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to wait a good while before reviewing this, as it's important to live with a product like this before passing judgement. It's been almost a year now since I purchased this at Best Buy. I cook often and make some labor intensive meals, so I'm pretty demanding of my cooktop. This 36" downdraft gas cooktop from Kitchen Aid is worth the money. I'm very satisfied. Many have questions about the effectiveness of the downdraft. While it's not as good as a traditional over the cooktop hood, it does a good enough job for us. No, it does not get rid of 100% the steam, etc. from whatever you're cooking, but when you don't have the option of a regular hood, this is more than adequate. I've had both hood and downdraft, and honestly, the difference isn't that big of a deal. If you're frying bacon, it doesn't matter if you have a downdraft or a hood, you'll have a similar result. Your kitchen/home will still smell like bacon. If I had to guess, I'd say it's at least 75% as good as a high CFM hood. In other words, it works just fine. In certain cooking situations, I use a simple trick to divert a majority of the steam or smoke to the downdraft by positioning a lid just off the pan/pot on the same side as the fan. It's pretty effective at catching the bulk of the exhaust. You'll see what I mean if you experiment a little with it. The downdraft compartment is easy to clean and the fan itself isn't overly noisy, although I rarely use it in the medium or high position. The low works good enough for me. The smallest burner is great for low, low simmering and the larger ones really put out some heat, boiling water faster than any cooktop/stove I've had in the past. There is plenty of room for multiple larger pots and pans at the same time without seeming crowded. It looks nice, is very easy to clean and has a sturdy, heavy duty feel to it. I'm very happy with this cooktop, and would gladly recommend it to anyone who's seriously into cooking.

Malfunction out of the box / Poor customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had our 36" countertop installed 11/25/2024. The ignitor would not stop "clicking" for any of the knob settings. We called the KitchenAid customer service number to schedule service for 11/27. Kitchen Aid subcontracted the service to OC Appliance. No service technician showed up for the service date. Two weeks later, a technician from OC Appliance showed up and replaced a board with no resolution to the issue. A week later the same technician returned to replace a harness with no resolution to the issue. After scheduling for a follow-on visit, the technician never returned. We never heard back from this technician and attempts to reach them went unanswered. We reached out to KitchenAid to reschedule service for 12/13 with Appliance Market and no one showed up. We reached out to KitchenAid again on Jan 31, Feb 3, Feb 28, Mar 3, and Mar 4. Not once did the any of the subcontracted companies show up nor did we receive any communication stating otherwise. KitchenAid customer service refuses to help repair or replace the faulty countertop. The last 6 customer service employees we've spoken with have only suggested they schedule service, but service NEVER shows up. Buy another brand that cares about their customers. KitchenAid does not.
