    Works good. I make a lot of sourdough bread and I like the dough hook to mix the dough. Just ordered the ice cream attachment for it.

    I was replacing a 6 quart Kitchenaid mixer, however, this does not exist anymore so I bought the 5.5 quart model. When I finally got it out of the box andcset it up, it was obvious that the quality of this mixer was poor. The attachments were filmsy and a dough hook was not included. I knew that this size even though it was just a half quart smaller would not stand up to the amount of use that I would give it. Returned it and bought a 7 quart model which I am enjoying now. The 6 quart bowl fits it as well.

    I wish the attachment could stay on the head when removing the bowl. Additionally, the method of engagement between bowl and riser could be so much better in oh so many ways. The build quality is exactly what you expect from kitchenaid. The motor operates very quietly. The entire assembly is exceptionally rigid and bowl locks perfectly tight to the stand. The operation of this lifting mechanism is truly perfect. Use of the lever is very natural and effortless, its an extremely ergonomic design.
