Ordered new & just unboxed it. However, it came with what looked like icing smeared on the outside.

I purchased this for a vacation home. My 30 year old KA mixer is more solid. The edges of the thin, flat, non-ergonomic handle on the new mixing bowl are so sharp the I want to wrap the handle because it digs into my skin. (I’ve attached pics to show the difference between my old mixing bowl with the superior handle and taller sides). Also, the new beater that is coated has bumps and flaws under the coating.

My wife used this less than 10 times, and in less than a year the teeth from the internal gears crumbled inside the machine. Every time she was baking she never put the speed above 3, which is even more upsetting considering the outrages price. If anyone is looking to get this for their significant other, high price does not mean high quality. I just hope none of the metal shavings dropped into our food! ⚠️

Got it 50% off for Black Friday. I'm glad I did because the mixing paddle started chipping on its second use. Hope it's not in the sourdough I was making. Hook and paddle both of bubbles and cracks in the ceramic coating. Never been dropped or handled rough. Hopefully there's a stainless replacement out there. This should not be happening in a $500 product.

I've used this a half dozen times now and it works great for everything from whipping heavy cream, to cutting butter into flour, to kneading a heavy dry bread dough. It's quiet and very stable during all the above. It's even easy to wipe clean. I even got it on sale, making it a great value. I did a lot of research before purchasing it because my previous mixer lacked the power to ones bread dough. I am very happy with this appliance.

Though this size is best for large batches, it works really well. My wife is in love. It's beefy and all the parts feel top quality, and the dark blue color looks great and is a nice change from all the black and silver in the kitchen. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love KitchenAid and this stand mixer is my favorite! I love the Navy color which I was not able to find anywhere else. I bake a lot and push my mixers pretty hard. I had the same model I purchased about 5 years ago and the motor started to struggle a lot more on certain bread doughs. I purchased this as a backup for when the motor finally went on my other one but I find myself using this more often. The lowest setting is definitely slower than my original one, which is perfect for me because it doesn't kick up flour when I have to add a significant amount in at once. It also powers through most of the doughs I make. Overall, this is a great mixer, it lasts for quite a while even with regular use, and even the attachments are well made. I would definitely recommend this over any other mixer.
