Unfortunately the Beater was frozen on and we were not able to get it off and so we called Kitchen Aid and they are going to send out a replacement and it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get. :( Larry E

This item went on sale 2 weeks after purchase for almost half the price. Additionally when kneading bread dough it needs to be watched and held down as it tries to pivot up.
