It keeps me from pushing down batter off the sides of the bowl. One thing it does is I have a batter with solids they bunch up and sometimes fly out of the bowl. It was rather funny.

But..this doesn’t fit the 6qt bowl of the professional series. It only for the tilt head 5qt. Super bummed because now I can’t use it.
