Great mixer, although as a chef I expect commercial grade to be a bit more than this. Got on Black Friday so I couldn't beat the price! Wife loves the attachments too!

Bought this during the 50% sale. It’s not worth full-price and it’s not worth half-price. First, this is by FAR the loudest counter-top mixer I’ve ever used (I have the KV25G0XOB model). Second, if you’re getting this to make dough of any kind, and not exclusively cake batter or whipped recipes; don’t. The bowl shimmies and shakes, the motor whines & screams, and the dough hook simply shreds any dough you attempt to make in it. After having elbow surgery in October, I thought this would “Aid” me in my love for baking bread. Sure didn’t. Lastly, when I opened the box, the power cord was loosely tossed inside and there were grease marks and smudges all over the machine. For anyone looking to buy one, I would consider either another machine or another brand. It’s clear that KitchenAid’s quality control has suffered over the years and that they are now floating on their name alone. Don’t pay $500 for this machine. I payed $250 and I’m taking it back. Instead of getting a KitchenAid, I got KitchenPlayed

Everything about this stand mixer is good except for the dough hook with a paint (coating) chip upon opening the box. Called KitchenAid directly and received no actions.

Very useful small appliance for every kitchen need

I just bought one for my wife, picked it up from BestBuy. She was pretty excited about it until we saw some cracks on the flat beater and spiral dough hook. We were gonna return and exchange it but BestBuy in our location didn’t have any available in stock. We didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning it and waiting for days for an exchange. We were pretty disappointed.

It is annoying and comes out liquid like oil. Manufacturing quality is bad.My hand kneads better.I bought it on Black Friday I think the device has been re-maintained and sold.

The "stainless steel bowl" chopped when I used it the first time, making bread. That, to me, means it is NOT STAINLESS STEEL -AS ADVERTISED. ITS COATED. I am contacting KitchenAid for a replacement of something of quality. Also my paddle beater came out of the box, wrapped in styrofoam, chipped. The motor is nice and quite though so I gave it two stars for that.

I am disappointed in our kitchen aid Professional 5 quart mixer's coated flat blade as the white powder coating has chipped off. I attempted tocontact Kitchen Aid's customer service and after being on hold for an hour, I hung up. I was always careful and never used anything but a rubber spatula when mixing ingredients. Our blender is just under 2 years old. This is supposed to be a professional unit for heavy use. We are a family of two and don't use it in a professional capacity. At most it is used one time weekly. We feel this is a poor design and would like a complimentary replacement blade. I also believe the engineers should come up with a new design as this appears to be a common occurrence.

I have WANTED AND LOVED the Red KitchenAid mixer for years so I finally ordered me one when it was on sale July 12th and just received my SUPPOSEDLY “NEW” mixer today and took it out of the box only to see it has what looks and feels like BUTTER!!! on the sides where the bowl let’s up and down to say that I AM DISAPPOINTED and MAD IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!! Where is the QUALITY CONTROL with BestBuy and KitchenAid when it cones to making sure Customers get what they Paid for BRAND NEW and NOT USED!!! This was my first time ordering from BOTH COMPANIES AND MIGHT BE MY LAST BECAUSE I AM VERY UNHAPPY THAT I HAVE TO RETURN MY MIXER!!!

Unhappy with this purchase. Seemed like the most basic, stripped down model for the price (even a sale price) The 'stand' has sharp edges on the top & bare unfinished/unpainted metal down its length, noticeable when bowl was in the Down position. Handle to raise/lower bowl is a plain metal crank type, (not even a knob on the end of it) & did not adjust the bowl smoothly. The small emblem cover, to flip up when using attachments, is made of cheap plastic. (See all photos) I've owned a KitchenAid in the past & looked forward to getting another. I was very disappointed with this one & it has been returned to the store it was purchased from.

I've been struggling to adjust this mixer to work as well as my previous 4.5qt tilt-head mixer (which I gave away after I bought this). A year later, regardless of attachment, it still doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl to make anything right without having to frequently stop to scrap the bowl. This week, I had a professional baker over who was horrified by just how awful this mixer is so I dug out the receipt from my email to discourage anyone from spending a penny on this bowl-lift stand mixer. The only upside is how much better I've gotten at making batter and dough by hand.

The mixing bowl’s handle feels cheap and not ergonomically comfortable.

The box itself was damaged and when I opened up the box, the styrofoam that was holding it together was all broken. And it looked like it was opened before and then resealed with security tape. $400 and the box looks like crap. The only good thing was that the mixer works

After reading many many many reviews on this mixer I decided to purchase it. I received it this past Saturday (12/2) and have made cinnamon buns and peanut butter cookies. First, unless I just got lucky I don't think the mixer is as loud as others are making it out to be. After reading some complaints in regards to the noise level I was truly expecting it to be terrible. However, was pleasantly surprised... I mean obviously it makes some noise it's a mixer (duh!), but no where near what I was expecting it to be. Second, ok so this is going to be one of 2 complaints. The first is that if you're making dough like I was for the cinnamon buns you have to use the dough hook and generally recipes require eggs. What I found annoying was that the dough hook's mixing never popped the yolk. I had to stop the mixer and poke the yolks with a fork for the eggs to eventually get mixed in with the rest of the mixture. Second, is that if you're adding in ingredients while the machine is running you have to time it well enough so things don't get sprayed up the side of the wall. Also, when using the regular beater mixture gets pushed up the side of the bowl walls so it's a bit annoying to stop the machine and take a spatula to push down the mix.I guess that's why they sell the flex edge and shield as accessories. Other than that the mixer is great! Definitely does the job well especially when mixing thicker doughs (such as bread or cookies). Prior to this I was using a regular hand mixer and definitely had a few scares when trying to mix cookies because it would almost burn out (lol). All in all I would definitely recommend the product especially for the price point I purchased it at ($200 as a doorbuster vs I think almost $500 normally). I hope someone finds this review useful :)

If you really love to bake and cook, a KitchenAid mixer is a must. Hands down they are the best mixers on the market for home use. I up graded to this larger 5 qt. model for mixing larger doughs for breads and homemade pizza dough. They are also great for all mixing needs. Well worth the investment for any model KitchenAid makes. Easy set up and cleaning, very powerful at any speed. Tons of attachments available also for meat grinding, casing sausage, pasta making they cover all cooking needs. Best mixers I've ever owned.
