I thought i read that it was the tilt head. Ended up realizing it wasn't and took it back. But it looked like it would be great for people who really love to make baked goods.

Impressive power (watts) in this pro 500model. I like it’s larger capacity and lift/locking lever, but unlike the other models, it does not tilt back so removing the bowl requires detaching the mixing attachment first, then removing them both simultaneously.Note also that attachments may be model specific so make sure you have the correct one.

My first stand mixer, actually; haven't used it extensively yet, but thus far, it seems to do what it's supposed to. I'm finding it easy to use. Though heavier than I expected! Too much to easily move in and out of the cabinet; I just leave it on the counter. I don't have a hutch to hide it, but fortunately it looks good - and the shiny black color fits in with my decor.

My wife loves to bake. She has never had the Luxury of having one of these, except when she goes to her moms house. Bought this for her Christmas present – she will love it!

I bought this product as it was on special for Black Friday. It's a beast and a terrific replacement for the smaller version. What a terrific product. I highly recommend it.

A wonderful powerful mixer was a gift to myself. Little did I realize how heavy it was or how tall. It handled a double batch of cookies with ease but tends to spit dough at the high speeds. I'll find the learning curve and will enjoy baking once again!

This is a must have for any baker in the Kitchen. I can make a double batch of chocolate chip cookies in no time. Cleans up nicely and still looks great after months of use.

I've never personally owned my own kitchenaid before by my mom has one that I have used many times and when this mixer went on sale I couldn't pass it up. I've read many reviews and basically all of them are great except for a handful. There was one that I read where they said they had followed the directions and when they went to mix some ingredients the mixture turned black. I wanted to avoid that problem so I washed the bowel and attachments in the dishwasher and thought that any coatings that were on any of it would surely come off when washed. I was wrong though when I grabbed the bowel i realized there was some black on my hand from where I grabbed it. I then hand washed each attachments untill no black stuff was coming off. Didn't run into any problems after that. I love my mixer.

The whole family loves using the mixer, even simple enough for the little one to operate (with supervision of course). Bought two; one for my mother in law and my sister.

I spent a long time debating between the Pro series and the Artisan series, but after hearing a few negatives about the Artisan (the glass bowl being too heavy to pour one-handed, and that the tilt head function can degrade), I decided to go with the classic red Pro.
